Nothing progressive about the party that wants to reinstate the soviet form of governance.

Thats what they call themselves, and is the best label to use so that others can attach their actions to the label. When Communist, Marxist type labels are used most people are confused.

No it will be a 4-way race. Between Neo-socialists, Neo-Libs, neo-Cons, and MAGA.

Let us not forget many of the hardcore left do not like the mainstream of their party. People like Ted Wheeler have been legit threatened with assassination recently.

Define the two sides of the neo-left

The neo-socialists or the democratic socialists look at the failed experiment of socialism and believe they have identified the problem as it being a dictatorship or oligarchy rather than a democracy. The issue they don’t realize is that the inefficiencies of socialism have the people eventually vote them out when things start going bad, which is why socialist countries end up becoming dictatorships and oligarchies.

The neo-liberals are the standard Obama-era democrats. They like gibs, hate guns, like killing babies, hate god, like illegal immigration, hate coal, like diverse skin tones, hate diverse thought, etc... the biggest part of the neo-liberals is the gibs mentality up to 11 on free this and that.

Appreciate the insight and reply. what does the (neo) represent ?

Neo refers to a modernized approach to those ideas, effectively a revised variation on those ideas to a way that kind of distorts from the original views.

For example, Neo-Cons just support whatever the left supports, but just 5 years later, conserving the new order set up by the left. They are conservatives, but instead of conserving values, they conserve institutions as they are.

Neo-Socialists are like regular socialists wherein they want to socialize companies (bring them under government power), but instead of fighting against the corporations they are supported by them.

And neo-Libs barely have anything liberal about them (wanting to protect liberty). Instead they want to advance causes that used to be liberal but aren’t anymore, like enhancing civil rights to the point it impedes on the civil rights of others.

MAGA in a way is a strange coalition of right-leaning libertarians, Christian Fundamentalists, Constitutionalists, and Moderate Liberals, also some right-leaning moderate anarchists. There’re a lot of contradictions here, but we have a basis of wanting to undo the work of the neo-Cons and neo-Libs without being socialists and respecting individual rights.

Appreciate that insight, labels I’ve heard often but did not dig into greater depth.

Nah, MAGA will split. Some will be scared and vote for the Rino’s. Not enough hard cores on the MAGA side.

Then game over. Demorats win big. Not all Trump votes were for Trump. Many were just party votes. Republicans. Many were anyone but Biden. Let’s not let our bravado be our downfall

Screw that. I’ve watched for 3 decades while that argument got us where we are today. For the past 3 decades a vote for a republican was no better than a vote for a democrat, except for Trump. The republican party needs to be in fear for its life right now or they will not change. If they don’t have Trump I’m voting with the other party and I will be campaigning my ass off to help them win.

Depends on the messaging, the RNC will be pushing establishment candidates, same thing as Democrat. I wont support either of them.
