90
booblitchutz 90 points ago +91 / -1

This right here! My local school board has THREE candidates that state clearly they want to end the covid nonsense in our schools. I’m gonna vote for them so hard that machine’s gonna be ringing for an hour after.

What's wrong with ranked choice?

3
Minarchist_Manlet 3 points ago +3 / -0

Tends to prop up niche candidates who would have no chance of winning a majority otherwise. All areas with ranked choice go further and further left after it is implemented.

Just stuff I've read here. I don't know why that is.

2
ColoradoTrumper45 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ranked choice voting means that the complexity of the vote calculation requires computers to add it up in a timely fashion. It also reduces the ability to predict outcomes via traditional polling and other factors.

That's a recipe for cheating.

3
3-10 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hope they believe the same thing about CRT and actually want to keep math "racist".

1

why a "hell no" for ranked choice voting?

1
giantrabbit1 1 point ago +2 / -1

Everywhere RCV has been implemented, leftists progressive candidates have a much easier time of winning. That's a problem in liberal Austin.

1
negative_entropy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes. The dems are inevitably going to try to 50 state RCV since Manchin torpedoed their election bill so we should increase awareness.

https://ballotpedia.org/Ranked-choice_voting_%28RCV%29

1
ColoradoTrumper45 1 point ago +1 / -0

Given what we have seen regarding election integrity, why would you want to increase the complexity of calculating vote tallies?

At the same time diminishing the likelihood of there being clear and unambiguous winners of the elections.

1
Patriotrealm 1 point ago +1 / -0

We have it in Australia. As an example, a guy is in the Senate in Western Australia and he got about 6 votes...... it's definitely stacked against the best candidate.

0
Drwuzer 0 points ago +1 / -1

There's a billion candidates. Going to be a run off for sure

Going to the Gun Show later, I'll stick it on then.

Maybe get some people to go out and vote.

15

Gun show, okay, wear sticker. My liberal neighborhood, NO. I never encourage liberals to go vote.

21
Ponysoldierpatriot 21 points ago +21 / -0

Make sure to let your neighbor know that due to current COVID restrictions, they are asking conservatives to vote today and liberals are supposed to vote next Saturday.

6

Yes reinstate the camping ban.

13
SkeletorsTeeth 13 points ago +14 / -1

What/who are you voting for today?

30
Fernietexas2 [S] 30 points ago +31 / -1

My Ballot here in San Antonio: Mayor, School Board, and 2 Propositions

28
Block_Helen 28 points ago +29 / -1

Voted FOR PROP B to reinstate the public camping ban in Austin and end the tent cities.

Please, God, let it pass. I think it has a very good chance. Lot of people are pissed including your run-of-the mill Dem voters.

15
JGuez 15 points ago +15 / -0

I was just in Austin after having gone a few years ago. I couldn't believe how many tents there were until I looked it up and the liberal mayor is the one who allowed it....

Shocker.

3

Fun Fact: Austin's 2020 budget for 'ending homelessness' (while making it legal for people to camp on public property) was 62.7 MILLION.

9
LurkNoMore 9 points ago +9 / -0

The proposals are where they get you. They know only 2% will turn out for an off-year election, and only a small portion of those that do show up will know what the hell the prop ACTUALLY means:

Prop A43: Divert funds to prevent giving schools new equipment.

Yes, you don’t support it..... or no, you do support it.

  • made up example, but I’ve seen plenty like it in my days.
7
Block_Helen 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yep, they do it on purpose.

5
Liberty4All 5 points ago +5 / -0

Unfortunately, using confusing language to get voters to vote against their beliefs on ballot propositions and constitutional amendments is a widely used tactic. Definitely not unique to Texas.

Good luck Texas pedes in today's elections! Get hold of all your conservative friends and make sure they don't forget to vote today!

7

That's how California got the new gas tax a few years ago, changed the name at the last minute

Something like "fund our roads" with the gas part hidden very deep in the fine print

1
thisguy883 1 point ago +1 / -0

Who was your pick for Mayor? It sucks that the only 2 major candidates are between a democrat and a democrat.

Also, who is best for the school board?

1
Fernietexas2 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I voted Brockhouse mayor and Varela for school board.

No on both props

1
thisguy883 1 point ago +1 / -0

Brockhouse is a dem though....

1
Fernietexas2 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I am going to assume he will be miles better than woke Nirenberg.

2

6

Do your research, look up who the conservative republican party has backed. And go vote today. This is where we fight back! Because even your smaller city and county has CRT radicals trying to become board members. cough Collin Co cough They are coming.

What’s Texas voting for? Why was this not posted all fucking week!?

3
altaG12 3 points ago +3 / -0

local elections, i.e. city council and schoolboard, and I agree it should have been posted all week!! That election sidebar needs to be updated and put to good use ASAP!

4
PraiseBeToScience 4 points ago +4 / -0

This fucking place needs local subs WHY DO WE NOT HAVE THEM

1
altaG12 1 point ago +1 / -0

After seeing the lack of coverage for the important local elections, I am throughly convinced mods have been infiltrated with ShariaBlue types to keep us distracted, hopeless, and prevent us from unifying. I thought this site would be a jumping point to get us organized for action like in 2016, but sadly that is not the case anymore. It’s become a place for Doomers and memes.

3
Palmertabs 3 points ago +3 / -0

It needs to not be a side bar, but a permanent sucky at the top, updated regularly.

3
altaG12 3 points ago +3 / -0

Good idea, it is easily missed on the sidebar

5
TheSaltyVet 5 points ago +6 / -1

For fuck sake get out and vote! We got to weed out these fucking Democrats.

4
Picnochetwasahero 4 points ago +5 / -1

I early voted. Fuck it was a pain to sift through candidates to figure out where they stand. They barely have any advertisements and had to ask older conservative neighbors to figure out where to look. Why dont local elections display party affiliation?

4
Btcox 4 points ago +4 / -0

I voted!

4
Honkey_McCracker 4 points ago +5 / -1

3

Just spent the day serving as a poll watcher....

...more people need to step up to the plate in Texas.

... ... This is not rough duty but it must be done. There are so many ways for the election judges to cheat and/or just ignore the rights of voters....

3
ArkSonOfGod 3 points ago +4 / -1

hopefully the homeless wont be making tent cities in Austin after today. I voted yes to A and B and no to everything else.

3
foundwipe 3 points ago +3 / -0

California falls because of commie movement in 1960s. Governor Abbott should follow Governor Reagan and kick commie out of the state - commie should be fired from state government. Whichever school taking commie students is ineligible for any public funding.

I am literally outraged to see this. Those commie’s citizenship should be revoked. As a legal immigrant in this country, I took question in my green card interview asking me if I join communist party before. I answered no and I think this is one legit question in GC interview. Because legal immigrants should not be communists. But how can American ppl here are free to be commie?

3
Polkadotard 3 points ago +4 / -1

The turnout has been extremely low in early voting. In the town closest to me, it was 6.2 percent. Conservatives just aren't turning out.

7
Block_Helen 7 points ago +8 / -1

Low voting in my town (Austin) favors the passage of Prop B to reinstate the public camping ban. Hardcore supporters/activists (in this case they're on our side) turn out, everyone else doesn't bother.

4
altaG12 4 points ago +5 / -1

Sometimes folks, like myself, don't like early voting as it gives the Dems an idea of how many fraudulent votes they have to manufacture to steal an election. I hope that is the case in this situation.

5
NC_patriot 5 points ago +5 / -0

I never early vote.

3
ForwardObserverFIST1 3 points ago +4 / -1

Ha, I early voted on tuesday. I saw my left leaning cousin and husband also voting. Talked to them outside and they said they voted for prop B and against all other props. They told me they are tired of paying more and more taxes just to see Austin get worse and worse. They maybe late to the party but I'm happy to have them now.

0
Annpi 0 points ago +1 / -1

4
Block_Helen 4 points ago +4 / -0

Dude, can you read? From right below the highlighted part:

In Texas, you’ll vote on one of these systems. The State of Texas has selected and certified voting systems from three different vendors: Election Systems & Software (ES&S), Hart InterCivic, and Premier Election Solutions (formerly Diebold, Inc.). Regardless of the system you’re using, know this: When voting in the Lone Star State, you count. Texas makes sure. Following are the voting systems certified for use in Texas. (You can click on the name of each voting system to go to the manufacturer’s product description page.)

From Dominion Voting Systems, Inc. (formerly Premier Elections and Diebold, Inc.) AccuVote® TS or TSX (formerly Diebold TSX), a DRE voting system AccuVote®-OS, an optical scan voting system

-2
Bldg_2019 -2 points ago +2 / -4

Well actually, the guys who design, build, and program that equipment.

4
DrWhu 4 points ago +4 / -0

This worries me...

6
Fernietexas2 [S] 6 points ago +12 / -6

We have machines, but they Print a Paper ballot out that shows your votes and then you insert it into 1 "counting" machine.

I don't believe Texas Machines are considered "fortifiable"

3
CoryInTheHouse1776 3 points ago +3 / -0

That sounds a lot like Dominion...

0
Fernietexas2 [S] 0 points ago +2 / -2

https://youtu.be/hcx6T5Bo6-g my understanding is the only way they could easily cheat without a trace on this machine, is if you don't check your print out of your votes before sticking it in the vote counting machine.

4
coverband 4 points ago +4 / -0

Many do. The types of election "systems" and processes are dependent on the county. Dallas county is Team Blue and has multiple issues with fraud that are well documented.

http://openrecords.org/

It's depressing how fake the results of the last election were. I was in the trenches of the data analysis. I truly think we are headed for civil war or worse.

Texas didn’t do much other than brag about how tough on election fraud they are. Fraud is still rampant in the huge blue areas here, and for instance the Dallas City Council has had more interest in it than usual. At least TX AG prosecutes criminals that Veritas finds for him. Not one thing on the ballot down here to green light even the topic of secession, which is legally required for legitimacy. Texas is leading the way forward for the rest of this Country in doing more of the same and hoping the outcome is different. Meanwhile, this once great Republic gets bluer by the day as most Texans don’t have the balls to fix it…pretty much like what we’ve seen so far nationwide.

-2
MagaMagaChooChoo -2 points ago +3 / -5

Good luck with your voting. GOP did nothing about election fraud in 2020, so I’ll be staying home.

5
altaG12 5 points ago +6 / -1

The local elections are so important and an election integrity bill passed the TX house recently. If you don't want to lose TX to the Dems, you need to go vote today!

-4
MagaMagaChooChoo -4 points ago +3 / -7

Sorry, staying home.

They did nothing about the stolen election in 2020 and won’t even acknowledge that Biden is illegitimate. Without recourse for 2020, that was my last election.

-1
altaG12 -1 points ago +0 / -1

That’s weak. Just sit on the sidelines then, whine, and make memes while the rest of us continue to fight this war for our country.

0
MagaMagaChooChoo 0 points ago +1 / -1

If wasting my time showing up to vote for Mitt Romney types just to have my vote tossed whenever the Democrats are behind is “fighting”, then yeah, I want no part of it.

You’re not going to change my mind, only Republicans currently in congress can do that. They either audit the election and hold the riggers accountable or I stay home forever and disconnect from the process.
