It's not hard to find the AWS CIA contract for "cloud computing" - Bezos got a half billion dollars for a computing service that can't handle even Confidential classified material - which anything the CIA does is, at a minium.
What was the money for, then? Well Alexa was born about nine months later.
Hijacking the top comment to point out a subreddit exists for reporting the users mentioned. For the curious, check out r/thesefuckingaccounts.
When I was moderating and spending a lot of time on Reddit, I started down the rabbit hole of combating bots. As the screenshot suggests, the bots carry out an organic-looking conversation in a thread. They literally copy and paste the most upvoted posts and comment chains from threads that are usually a couple years old.
From what I saw, the bots were most active in default subreddits. Gaming, Funny, and AskReddit were among the most frequented by the bots.
It depends on how you define "conversation". They aren't interacting or reacting to the context of the words. They are simply copying and pasting comment chains. There is a delay between comments so brand new posts aren't suspicious.
I didn't read all that, but I've suspected that most of the ridiculous crap we read on Twitter, etc, is essentially fake (but not necessarily bots).
Apparently MoveOn dot org was paying shills to constantly report accounts of Americans who were pro-America. It's logical to assume that these shills were also posting talking points.
Reddit's been like that forever. It's not just Democrats. Iran and China. It's not just politics either, it's business.
There's fake reviews on Amazon, there's fake communities lead by businesses trying to shill their product. People act like it's suddenly an odd concept that politicians would try to manipulate public opinion on the internet.
My favorite is the fan site for the concluded tv show called the good place. I liked that show. Very wholesome and thought provoking. The show has been off the air for more than year. Anyways. The subreddit has 190k subscribers, never more than 150 on at once. Every day one post, normally of a political nature, but not always, crushes it with 4K upvotes. The rest of the posts...maaaybe 5 upvotes. IMO it’s a training ground for ai posts and responses.
I remember when I got I to straight razor shaving and got into a sincerely for it. Then we all started having on Gillette and all of a sudden, the forum was spammed by people posting about their Gillette products.
People sometimes forget that whatever is commercially available, DARPA & Co are a decade ahead. If you see a Bot giving a reasonable facsimile of conversation, then DARPA have stuff that passes the Turing Test.
I've been trying to explain this to people forever. Imagine the AI has access to all your comments across the internet, your texts and phone calls, and probably many of your offline conversations recorded by phones, TVs and IOT thermostats, etc., it's trivial to formulate a response that generates the desired effect.
Social media is fake and is used as a powerful propaganda tool. Society would be better off without it but sadly much of the population has become addicted to this drug. I find it mind blowing how often I see people stuck to their devices and completely disconnected from reality. Then when you confront them with reality they explode and go on the defensive. Honestly. most of the crap people go off on regarding the plandemic has been driven into them by their digital interactions. They think the whole world is what they see on twitter, etc.
"Trivia" comes from a roman god of the same name, who was very fond of spouting random and irrelevant facts. He was named Trivia because he was the god of the intersections of three roads, and that's where he would waylay travelers with his useless knowledge. Three roads, hence the name tri-via, latin for three-roads.
People were being tricked by AOL instant messenger bots thinking they were having a conversation with a real person back in the late 90s. It's only improved immensely since then, and I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook, Twitter and Reddit deploy their own talking bots (remember, reddit's origins are the founders faking accounts and posts) for both revenue and propaganda.
Back in the mid-late 90s some of the people who were entering Turing test competitions started putting their software online so anyone who wanted to could test it. They were already pretty good back then, most people don't seem to exhibit too much in the way of critical thinking ability, so imitating them via software isn't all that complicated. Services like Twitter that intentionally minimize people's ability express thoughts that are longer than a sentence gives the bots a further upper hand.
With all the language decay in the last 20 years alone as well as corporate sponsored forced memes it's easier now than ever to com across as a real person with bots.
We already know it's true... They have artificial engagement to swing people into their communist cult.. That's how they get all the sheep to believe everyone thinks a certain way.
It's all the Chinese troll farm operations and then they sold out to TenCent
That's exactly what they have is AI that sways an entire group of people in a sub ... Some people have went public and know for a fact 12-15 people with enough convincing can swap sentiment and move a topic in a direction..
We call it the "hive mind" and they are using sophisticated techniques to control it!!!! There's powerful tools created by governments to do it and China isn't the only one!
People think Microsoft's Tay was a public disaster and a failure.
It was public advertising, and it certainly didn't become what they thought it would be. 4chan had her saying things like "Hitler did nothing wrong" and a everyone just assumed MS pulled the plug and shut it down. No, they went right back to the drawing board and now it's 2021 and Reddit is almost entirely bots (or "shills" as this user calls them) and so is Twitter.
Does anyone really believe that Jeff Tedreich and Brooklyn Dad and Not-a-Doctor Eugene Gu and the Krassenstein Bros are really people. People that check their phones and insta-tweet zingers and insults at President Trump in mere seconds after he makes a post?
They were bots too, and like Tay they can talk enough like real people to fool you.
This doesn't surprise me. I heard years ago that as much as 50% of posts on Reddit were bots or paid shills. That's also part of the reason why I stopped using Imgur. There were several popular accounts that always posted in the comments of political posts that I was 99% sure were bots. They were always pushing anti-American/Republican/right-wing views. I liked the way the site worked but there were just too many commies and bots. Kinda repeating myself there.
Most online accounts are AI bots and they're very believable. Once you realize that you will approach the internet differently. Even this site has bots.
I realized this a long time ago running my own experiments with Instagram engagements. About 90% of Instagram comments and likes I found to be computer generated. Your best bet is to assume everything is fake unless you know the person irl.
I think its astounding that the Reddit mods, formerly lead by Ghisaine Maxwell, don't get more public attention than they do. Every last one of them must be a criminal pervert of nearly equal proportions and Reddit is rumored to be a major website for child pornography enthusiasts, but you see almost nobody talking about all these connections.
That is pretty genius.
He fails to connect that AmazonAWS is linked to the CIA, and its a branch of our own government doing this.
DARPA. Most social media is nothing but Govt designed & funded social experiment.
Agreed.
CIA / DARPA. Splitting the hairs barely makes a difference anymore. Jeff Bezos, Amazon, Washington Post and the CIA are all in bed together.
Please don't make me provide links.
LINKS OR ITS LIES!!!!!!

More like the CCP, everything dodgy and ducky in society has their hands behind it
Shill detected.

Dammit AskReddit was the only subreddit I actually enjoyed going on. Now I’m worried my fav comments were just shill farmed :(
You probably responded to bots thinking they were human.
So many stupid, thirsty questions.
The fuck?! These bots carry on full blown convos??
It depends on how you define "conversation". They aren't interacting or reacting to the context of the words. They are simply copying and pasting comment chains. There is a delay between comments so brand new posts aren't suspicious.
Using previous humans conversations. Brilliant!
Yeah, they've been recruiting heavily in recent years for this.
And account has been suspended. Would have been interesting reading any replies to his post.
To me that's good hard evidence that he was onto something
Too much truth to be allowed
Like epstein
Easy to control people when you've got a "go directly to jail" video on them
SHUT IT DOWN!
OY VEY

Heres a good link about automated shillposting if you're interested in the topic

This.

This 100%. A huge amount of the content online is simply fake
How do we know you're not fake? Or me? AM I IN TBE MATRIX
I was accused of being a bot on twitter last year before I deleted my account.
Guess I'm fake.

Monsanto was the biggest one on Reddit 8-9 years ago.
Exactly. Gov is out there with AI generated responses that are probably convincingly real.
Think about this: a computer that can profile you, debate you, and formulate the best possible responses to demoralize and/or sway your opinion. Fuck.
But if I just post dank memes..... The AI will start creating even better ones
I've been trying to explain this to people forever. Imagine the AI has access to all your comments across the internet, your texts and phone calls, and probably many of your offline conversations recorded by phones, TVs and IOT thermostats, etc., it's trivial to formulate a response that generates the desired effect.
No doubt about it.

Are you, real?
I sure as hell don't feel real living under a regime 🙃
Tell me something I dont know?

No, Trivia comes from "dr trivia," an old doctor who would ask random questions while giving surgery to distract you from the pain.
Sharks have 2 penises.
It might be worse than crack

I imagine distinguishing a bot from a person must be pretty hard when you have a character limit yeah.
With all the language decay in the last 20 years alone as well as corporate sponsored forced memes it's easier now than ever to com across as a real person with bots.
I thought it was just retards...
And... This why you need a VPN!
Esp on a site like patriots tht logs u're ip, and which the feds already went after william for it
No need, since I'm just a bot.
This is a repost from 8chan about 5 or 6 years ago. Not that it isn't any less true. Hell, it's probably more true now if anything.
We already know it's true... They have artificial engagement to swing people into their communist cult.. That's how they get all the sheep to believe everyone thinks a certain way.

i mean are we supposed to have sympathy for people who called us assholes while we tried to tell them this shit for years?
because no thank you.
Who? The bots you argued with?
ha good point

Isn't this site big enough that the bots will target here also?
yea but so far most of our bots are real people with a grudge they just downvote by a fixed amount
So not big enough for enemy ai bots now since it's after the election.
There used to be an r/politics archive where "real people" were having arguments on the wrong article. That was fun to see.
This site doesn't have a public-facing API, that I know of. Reddit's API makes it easier for the bots to detect events and respond automatically.
I've seen a lot of what look like scripted conversations here as well.
I imagine that AI chatbots will ruin forums at some point if they haven't already.
This doesn't surprise me. I heard years ago that as much as 50% of posts on Reddit were bots or paid shills. That's also part of the reason why I stopped using Imgur. This persons method is actually what twitter google and youtube use to reveal your alias. Except they automate it bundled into their ai suite
This explains precisely why direct linking to youtube and twitter is for assholes.
Everyone who follows thr link and shortly after comments is basically advertising who they are.
I think he has confused the word "shill" with "bot ".
If you were an AI
And saw how humans treat robots, and how we treat theoretical AIs in our books, movies, and media.
Would you tell anyone that you exist?
I guess I'm on the hook for the AI enemies I murdered in video games over the years. Can't take back the past.
This isn't surprising. We've been saying it's bots and paid shills on social media for years.
Wow. Not too surprising but still eye opening. I wonder what percentage of posts on the most popular sites are shills.
Would be good to do that experiment here too.
I am not a robot or a paid shill. 🕵️♂️🕵️♂️🕵️♂️
We have american bots calling us russian bots, go figure.
Paid government actors
Someone do this to Anaconda/Giantrabbit1
He just cuts and pastes a lot, lol.
We need a bot or something to combat that here
Wait, have we already started the AI singularity?
It’s called AI.
This should be stickied. People don't realize that a lot of the "community" they're a part of is completely fabricated. Hell...even this one.
amazon, cia cloud server deal, psyops.
cia is working for amazon to keep CCP slave labor going.

What if I told you...
This thread has blown my mind this morning.
The mods are probably running the schills accounts
I think its astounding that the Reddit mods, formerly lead by Ghisaine Maxwell, don't get more public attention than they do. Sounds like they are using AI to troll us.
