Thanks for sharing this. My brother-in-law who has been in law enforcement since 1977 has just decided that he is now retiring as the changes he has seen in society towards police only getting far worse. Those signing up for the academy has DRASTICALLY declined and good officers are in position of giving up what they truly love (protecting their community) in order to protect their family as members of society target the family members even more than the police now.

My point is that not all cops are bastards. Hell, it's probably not even 1% who are. Broad brush strokes.
I used to think 5% were bad until I knew enough cops personally. All 3 of my golf buddies are cops. I don’t think any of them are “bad”. But they all know cops that are bad and they cover for the bad ones. That makes them accessories to crimes which makes even good cops into bad cops. And that is 100% now.
A lot of the good ones DO stand up against the bad and do the best they can to have them removed from the force. Have to remember, they too are fighting against a very corrupt system (especially when the mayors are corrupt). Many stay to be the remaining wall of what they can between those people and us. I am not going to fully blame ALL cops bc of we use that idea that allegedly all good cops cover for bad (which isn't the case), do you think all good citizens are out covering for the bad ones too?
Apples and oranges with your last comment. You know the old saying that some people are alive only because it’s against the law to kill them? Imagine no police. Armed society. Bad guys wiped out rapidly. Our current society? You protect your house by shooting a burglar and YOU go to jail. I’ll take the no police option.
