The party of science.

And if folks think the CDC isn’t being bullied by the White House in other ways, they are not paying attention.

Viewer01 49 points ago +49 / -0

I mean you’re willfully ignorant if you think politics doesn’t effect the recommendation. People will say whatever they need to ensure their paycheck.

I mean just look at Volkswagen and their massive emissions scandal. They all knew. The competition knew, and no one said anything for years.

In 200 years assuming we don’t enter a dark age before then, historians are going to be baffled at how retarded our response was. It’s going to be akin to the Dutch tulip craze.

ThisTrainHasNoBrakes 18 points ago +18 / -0

Honestly in 200 years it is very doubtful anyone will know. Most people won’t know in 2.

25
Winning_Bigly 25 points ago +25 / -0

That will depend upon whether we take our government back. The winners write the history books.

Exactly.... The last four years has me questioning everything I've read in history books.

Liberals thrive on fear and fantasy, and shaming others for the same things they are guilty of.

2
Shadowreaper07 2 points ago +2 / -0

They certainly will be baffled, until 20 years later when other 'Historians' revise the arguments...

masticator_nord 30 points ago +30 / -0

"The party of science" doesn't mean that they believe in the scientific method or truth. It means that they "are" science, so you better listen to their every decree lest you be labeled a heretic science denier.

12
Knight1_of_Sunset 12 points ago +12 / -0

"FUCKING LOVE SCIENCE!!!!!!®" Has become the leftist commies' new religion.

9
masticator_nord 9 points ago +9 / -0

The funny thing is, creationists/proponents of intelligent design have been talking about the dogmatization/religionization of science for decades.

Scientists hated Einstein and his Relativity because, in their view, it shat on Holy Newton.

Even after acceptance they hated Einstein and refused to listen to any more of his ideas.

We need to bust every single public sector union. They only extort the taxpayer and abuse their influence

7
liberpede 7 points ago +7 / -0

Public sector unions should be illegal.

You don't get to lobby the government while you suck at her teat.

4
cookiedude 4 points ago +4 / -0

Indeed i've been saying this for years and the argument back is "what have you got against unions?" Dopes all. It's public employee unions that keep Lefties in office. It's money laundering pure and simple. You vote for me? I give you shit. I give you shit, you vote for me. Most folks can't see it. Lazy is all. "I just wanna be happy leave me alone" OMG

31
ACCW 31 points ago +31 / -0

Unions had their part in history, it's time for them to go. Every single one has been comprised by libtards.

18
sustainable_saltmine 18 points ago +18 / -0

Yep. This exactly. There are no more unions that have any usefulness other than to extort, become more corrupt and fund the Democrats.

9
liberpede 9 points ago +9 / -0

Unions per se don't need to be illegal.

They just need to be stripped of the absurd legal protection that their members cannot be fired for striking.

Then, they would simply represent the combined bargaining power of their members, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Of course, they are so dependent on that absurd manipulation of the free market that removing it does equate to destroying unions as we know them today.

They have abused that unfair negotiating advantage to enrich their union leadership and push political positions for far too long.

Oh, public sector unions should be flat illegal.

5
Fandigo 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's simple, it should be ILLEGAL for unions to force membership. It should be ILLEGAL for unions to force exclusivity. Without exclusivity of forcing memberships you take out their teeth and they become 100% powerless in 99.99% situations. There is still that 0.01% where they can be useful, for example, in a highly skilled area of work where labor is limited and a collective union of its workers can negotiate with employers better employment terms and conditions. Outside of that though they are completely useless.

1
liberpede 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bingo.

7
Bazzellle 7 points ago +7 / -0

My experience with unions was shaming those that didn't contribute without speaking to person in question, shaming good management as well as bad ones, protecting POS workers while overworking good ones, and told to stop working because I was throwing the numbers off.

Never once did I see this particular union do anything good for workers or the company.

3
FLIBS 3 points ago +3 / -0

MySidesGoUp 25 points ago +25 / -0

Lazy teachers who don’t want to work using the CDC as such....

14
sustainable_saltmine 14 points ago +15 / -1

Yep. They've gotten used to staying home, watching daytime TV and only having to "phone in" a couple lessons a day then pass off all the work to the students.

8
yurimodin 8 points ago +8 / -0

shit that is basically how in-person teaching went when I was a kid.

6
MySidesGoUp 6 points ago +6 / -0

It’s absolutely sickening. They were already getting away with negligence via indoctrination...

5
nickBoB 5 points ago +5 / -0

Actually, it was twice as hard to work from home, versus in person. We had to create new curriculum for students to do, since all of our curriculum is designed for in person learning. So, we had to recreate the wheel every day. Plus teach the lesson, do individual time with the kids who are behind, and correct all the work. So glad to be back in person!

I firmly believe that means the teachers union should be sued, for the child abuse that our children have gone through. Let’s hold them in their leader ship accountable.

1
LowKeyPede 1 point ago +1 / -0

Taxpayer funded abuse. Govt school should be like govt cheese: a last resort. And we should get our tax money back accordingly.

The teachers’ unions throughout the country are nothing more than tentacles of the Democrat party. So this is predictable as it is expected.

6
spaceforce_maganaut 6 points ago +6 / -0

This is why I don't believe that anywhere close to 570,000 people died from covid-19. It's likely closer to around 30 to 40k.

6
Joesf23 6 points ago +6 / -0

3 professions that lost my respect in 2020.

Nurses: tik tok vids and shaming people who didnt want their businesses destroyed by lockdowns. Mask control freaks.

Teachers (pubic school): Fucking lazy SOBS not only push to brainwash kids with the communist blm agenda, they also pushed to keep schools closed and fucked up a whole year of learning. Most teachers are young lazy females fresh out of college and just want to watch netflix all day.

Police: We had your back until you started arresting business owners for trying to make a living and arresting people for not wearing the stupid fucking masks in an outdoor park. Then you took a knee with BLM terrorists and ran defense for antifa while beat the hell out of innocent civilians.

4
RockyMin 4 points ago +4 / -0

That should be unionized teachers, not all teachers. In the school district I work for, the teachers aren't unionized and were all quite happy to return to work.

1
LowKeyPede 1 point ago +1 / -0

And private/charter/religious school teachers who have largely gone above and beyond this year to keep teaching in person.

5
Smugpepe 5 points ago +5 / -0

Unions shouldn't be legal. They are used to strong-arm their employers to get their way. If it was for any other group of people they would be called a mafia, given the scare tactics and threats that they aim at honest business owners. Name a single succesful country that has unions, I'll wait.

1
UtahBeach 1 point ago +2 / -1

The United States.

1
Smugpepe 1 point ago +1 / -0

You think America is in a good place right now?

0
UtahBeach 0 points ago +1 / -1

Not anymore, because the best trick the oligarchs ever pulled off was to convince the common man that assembling in a group for his own self interest is bad and should not be done.

Maybe look at the condition of the American working stiff in 1900 compared to 1950 and then ask about Unions again. Way too many "fuck you, got mine" lolbertarians on this board with delusions of becoming the next oligarch themselves.

4
Juantinntwo 4 points ago +4 / -0

We got bonuses this year when we haven’t in forever. My coworkers are thrilled and are so thankful to our board for approving it. I am sitting here just blown away how dumb they are to not know where that excess budget came from (savings due to bussing and school lunch waste plummeting). It’s tax payer money earmarked for operation costs that was redirected to bonuses to keep us quiet about the shit they are pulling in schools.

Everyone I know is either retiring early, resigning for other careers, or are like me and just wishing they could go back in time and not get that degree while making the best of it. This is supposed to keep us happy enough to come back next year, but it’s a thankless job and instead of kicking some $ back to local tax payers, they just pocketed it leading to more hostility from community members who think teachers don’t do anything all day long.

As for $, I’d prefer a pay raise based off competence and a restructuring of the salary schedule to not be based 100% off seniority. Bring back competition and bring back negotiated salaries.

Teachers unions are the last remaining mafia in this country

3
NotADocileLady 3 points ago +3 / -0

Oh, I have a sneaking suspicion America is about to learn alllllll about the teachers unions.

Remember, Project Veritas exposed how teachers get away with abusing our children.

You can imagine the tales we're about to learn with the mask mandates...

Why the surprise? Isn't this really how every Gov agency operates? The insurance industry wrote Obamacare rules. Lobbyists write legislation. It's why we now have the iconic phrase, "We have to pass the law to find out what's in it."
