shock factor only. think about it- this parent had to agree to this type of punishment. had to. the school sent out a form listing corporal punishment as an option. that form looks standard and not like they were trying to hide anything. The school even had a standard protocol to include a sheriff for the paddling. i know some local catholic schools still use corporal punishment- if the parent allows it.

my thoughts? this mom saw an opportunity to sue this school for something she agreed to allow for her child. next she'll claim the language barrier prohibited her from understanding what she agreed to. this will be like winning the lottery for her- dollar signs baby!!! and crocodile tears. this also explains why the parent didn't stop any of this and found the time to record the incident.

i'll also bet that little girl destroyed other school items just like the principal says in the video. she probably needed a little paddling.

this is our new society- crying buckets over a little paddling. i got the wooden spoon when i acted up and so did my kids. we have become a weak, dumb, wussy society afraid of a spanking on the butt. that little girl was not brutally beaten. there is a difference.

The kid broke shit and the parent and kid didn't show remorse (based on the article, which is a little light on details) mom didn't want punishment and didn't want to pay. No mention of father.

Doesn't mean we have to continue to accept these "other times". We can stand our ground and go back to those more sensible times.

No, this is disgusting and should not be allowed to happen. There are better ways to deal with this issue than hurting a child like that. Just wrong.

Why yes, we DO need to make her famous,...as the PERFECT EXAMPLE of how principals SHOULD ACT!

It's time that we all get back to dispensing such punishments and maybe, just maybe, we'll see fewer officer-involved shootings in our nation.

I see nothing that warrants any legal charges here.
