Interesting, and I feel like a lot of real people know it's true. I remember being on reddit in the 2016 election and like 3 out of every 4 accounts were clearly bots. They were not well developed at that point in time and were hyper-obvious, all shilling for Hillary, of course. More importantly, they seemed to be more aggressively against Trump than they were pro-Hillary. At the time I was an anti-Hillary Bernie supporter and they would just constantly attack Trump, even though I was explicitly saying that I was against Trump as well. In fact, the obvious botting against Trump was part of what made me start to favor him.

I think the bots are getting more advanced, to the point that they are almost indistinguishable from regular dumb people. They will shill for or against certain people and ideas, but are more subtle and varied than they were in the 2016 election, and they know all the fake news and have lots of links to back up whatever garbage they are saying, but when challenged with a well-structured reason-based logical argument will completely fall apart and often not even attempt to answer, or only answer nonsense or just repeat talking points that you have already dismantled. I would assume that more posters online were bots if I hadn't met so many complete NPCs IRL that also can't think their way out of a paper bag and act very similarly to this.

I agree that a large idea behind this is to manufacture consensus as most humans today are legit complete NPCs, even those on our side, that have outsourced their thinking to such a ridiculous degree that they don't seem to know what thinking is. They have no idea how to reason and no idea how to act when confronted with firm logic. I feel like we are approaching the event that is mentioned in Industrial Society and It's Future.

"Large proportions of the supposedly human-produced content on the internet are actually generated by artificial intelligence networks "

We've seen how bad some of the best new AI is at holding long conversations. AI generated - No, not by a long shot. Shill generated, with lots of copying or people add libbing from a script? Sure.

Exactly. I've had to remind a few this is a neverending Trump rally.

I think we need a roast the mods thread to boost morale. Kinda like a dunking booth.

Something like 80% of all traffic on You Tube is Bots.

Sometimes it seems like we do enough demoralizing ourselves.

Simple example: https://patriots.win/p/12iNe7PDVP/rig-a-high-school-prom-election-/c/

Like

... Rig an presidential election, get away with it scot free.

? Who said they got away with it? Like, chin the f up. But instead I still see so much defeatism.

Just having a bad day and bitching and whining, or a shill? Either way, it’s become difficult to tell.
