DeSantis is honestly the new face of MAGA

He gives no shits about the media, their attacks just don't work because he ignores it, doesn't try to defend himself, doesn't try to placate the leftists or work with them, he just doesn't acknowledge their existtence

He lets results speak for themselves. Florida has a huge surplus of cash right now, compared to bankrupt NY. They finished counting votes within 3 or 4 hours in 2020. They just outdo blue states in every category

I think I would prefer a DeSantis run to a Trump run in 2024. I think he would fight against the steal even harder

46
Long_time_lurker 46 points ago +51 / -5

DeSantis would be a good president after Trump's 2nd term.

37
SendCCPToHell 37 points ago +38 / -1

I think Trump should get a 3rd term.... to make up for the 2020 fuckery

15
MichelesPenis 15 points ago +16 / -1

Agreed. All in favor? Motion passes.

8
bill_in_texas 8 points ago +10 / -2

I like your idea, but pragmatically, he'd just be too old. Even a 2024 run may be too much, even though Trump is apparently in outstanding mental an physical condition at the moment.

3
Sting 3 points ago +5 / -2

Not after what happened. No. We need someone else. DeSantis might be the guy.

3
UpTrump 3 points ago +4 / -1

Trump is a perfect physical specimen

37
Worldtraveler0405 37 points ago +37 / -0

DeSantis more MAGA than Cruz, Rubio and anyone else in the Republican Party than they ever wish, including 'Silver Pieces' Pence, Crenshaw and Paul etc.

16
phandaal 16 points ago +16 / -0

Crenshaw is a globalist Soros-lover. He says the Good Conservative Words, then turns around and toes the Uniparty line.

6
suliv 6 points ago +6 / -0

Many of these cruz/Crenshaw types are just so desperate for the maga base. Crenshaw has been caught on several occasions going mask off and going against MAGA.

5
Sting 5 points ago +6 / -1

It is a shame about Ted Cruz because he is so damned intelligent. Stories about his photographic memory and breathtaking intelligence are absolutely true, ask anyone who’s ever met him. But man does he make some puzzling decisions. He’s a little bit of a phony, or at least he comes across that way, although I think he’s mostly genuine. He is so different in person. I wish people could know that side of him, but then he does incredibly stupid shit like leave the state during a crisis, etc. He has to know, someone that smart has to know, how that’s going to look. I’m not sure I trust his judgment even though I like him on a personal level.

I don’t know if I completely trust him, although he’s vindictive and determined enough to make these people pay if he ever gets the opportunity. That’s one aspect of Ted Cruz more people should know about. If he’s ever in a position to make them pay, he will absolutely make them pay.

I think I prefer DeSantis, in fact I’m pretty damn sure. But I’d settle for Ted if the alternative is Biden. I kind of like Paul, also. None of this really matters because there will never be a legitimate election again because we dropped the ball completely in the four years we had to prepare for 2020. But oh well. We can dream.

Crenshaw seems to be a new replacement for old McCain, considering he was a receiver of Soros' money too.

I’m slowly getting onboard with a DeSantis 2024 run, I’ll always appreciate Trump for red pilling me, turning me from a Trudeau voting cuckboy to the pede I am today.

3
Prudentwait 3 points ago +3 / -0

I love DeSantis but I'm not sure if he has the gravitas to pull off what Trump did in 2016. There's also some concerning things I've heard about the recent big-tech bill.

1
Skepticconservative 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well what did you hear? I always like being informed and I live in FL.

3
Prudentwait 3 points ago +3 / -0

The big tech bill was toned down significantly because certain special interest groups thought it would protect antisemitic speech. The bill that passed only protects current candidates for national office in Florida, so Trump, private citizens, and even Ron DeSantis himself could still be censored without tech companies facing any retaliation.

4

certain special interest groups thought it would protect antisemitic speech

Oy vey. How specific.

1
UpTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have no idea how accurately this represents the population, but the sentiment I hear is he's "too radical" and "only Florida could love him"

4
Sting 4 points ago +4 / -0

The only MAGA Lindsey Graham knows is Make Asses Gape Again. Fucking faggot.

13
Staatssicherheit 13 points ago +19 / -6

Why? Because the media laid so heavily into Trump? DeSantis hasn't been through the media fire yet. Do you actually think DeSantis could survive a 24/7 Trump style media bashing without Trump?

Trump is my choice. DeSantis would make a good VP/AG/Sec of State.

Anyway, the point is moot. I think DeSantis is good guy and appears to be very grateful and loyal to Trump. There is no way he will run against Trump. He has loyalty, a quality of which many people here are sorely lacking.

17
MICHIGANisRED 17 points ago +17 / -0

If only we had 49 more governors who are that based.

3
MichelesPenis 3 points ago +3 / -0

Oh I'm afraid it's coming. People talk trash about the way he spoke when he first took office. He's definitely growing into the role. I think he's going to fare well in the crucible.

1
TheWinningNeverStops 1 point ago +1 / -0

DeSantis hasn't been through the media fire yet

Exactly. These guys are idiots. The establishment sees Trump as threat remember Trump is rich so he doesn't need to follow them desantis isn't. It's cool that he does what he's suppose(that's why he's there) to but lets not pretend he won't fold if he had even one tenth of what trump went through.

How about ZERO mail-in voting dropboxes???

24
AVeryNakedMan 24 points ago +25 / -1

In theory it should be available for deployed soldiers and for disabled people. That's about it.

10

5
bill_in_texas 5 points ago +5 / -0

They got their absentee ballot IN the mail.....why can't they return it the same way?

7
Worldtraveler0405 7 points ago +7 / -0

Until you have rigid Voter ID and fixed the US Border Wall.

5
bill_in_texas 5 points ago +5 / -0

I don't understand the whole premise of drop boxes. You request a mail in ballot. It comes in the mail. You fill it out. Why can't you just drop it back in the same mailbox it came from in the first place? It would be a whole lot easier than going out to find a drop box. The only reason to have a drop box is if you're committing mail fraud by sending in a fake or illegal ballot, and you don't want to make it a federal postal crime, too.

4
masticator_nord 4 points ago +4 / -0

I imagine the argument is that they're more "secure". So, for example, your ebil neighbor with a Trump sign can't just steal your Biden vote because you've let him know time and time again you're on the right side of history.

Of course, this is all just a ruse. Dropboxes have their own security issues, but they're easier to exploit. Hence dropboxes are preferred by Democrats.

The rational response to these issues is to recognize that mail-in ballots aren't worth the risk.

3
Swolehas 3 points ago +3 / -0

That was in the original bill, but it got amended to keep dropboxes, but regulate them more. I'm guessing the Florida democrats and enough Florida GOP voted to amend it

2

While FL S.B. 90 does something to address voter integrity – arguably better than doing nothing – the voters of Florida are deserving of higher standards from their elected officials in addressing voter fraud and election integrity.

Fuck

Here_we_go 31 points ago +31 / -0

Should need a medical waiver by dr for mail ins at this point. Once a ballot is out of the hands of the intended voter, illegal shit can (and will) happen.

10
Post-it-votes-2 10 points ago +10 / -0

Sometimes even while it's IN the hands of the intended voter. . .

7
NC_patriot 7 points ago +7 / -0

I took a Notary class a couple of weeks ago, and one of the items we learned about was Absentee Voters. (People probably knew this, but I didn't). In NC, an absentee voter form requires either a Notary, or two witnesses. I can't imagine the fuckery that goes into cheating at nursing homes with two witnesses, since they could be pretty much anybody that the resident knows. They could have a bunch of Ruby and her daughters go into nursing homes and act as witnesses for Absentee Ballots.

8
victory2024 8 points ago +8 / -0

Exactly. Mail-in votes need to be highly restricted/limited. They bypass almost all of the security measures involved with in-person voting.

2
NC_patriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's why a couple states have gone all mail-in.

5
Staatssicherheit 5 points ago +5 / -0

2 week voting period. If you're so sick that you can't vote in those 2 weeks, you shouldn't be able to vote.

1
Swolehas 1 point ago +1 / -0

That would be great. Until "medical waiver" expands to "mental health waiver"

Having read the actual bill, it's not as sensational as these articles are saying, but it addresses a shitload of security concerns.

The biggest differences, are that ballot drop boxes were added to regulations which govern the security of polling places, and there is a greater emphasis on chain of custody concerns, security of the drop boxes, and emptying and counting the drop boxes at the end of day. Before, the drop boxes had almost no security regulations and could even be moved around to different locations. Now they need personnel monitoring the site, under criminal penalty if they mismanage. Also, the rules which applied to vote solicitors within a certain distance of polling places has been applied to drop boxes.

Another huge difference, is that registering to vote with a person collecting them will need some form of state or federal ID number on the form. Also when registering to vote by mail, you will be required to enter a state or federal ID number. No ballots will be sent to people unless they go through this process and fill out the forms with their ID number. Also people soliciting voter registrations need to submit their collected registrations within 14 days of receiving them.

Another change is that people who help voting in assisted living facilities are now under the same ballot submitting regulations as family members, meaning they can only submit or possess 2 ballots other than their own. This makes it much harder for one person to forge a bunch of intercepted ballots, so it has to go through the internal mail of the assisted living facility.

5
SurfingUSA 5 points ago +5 / -0

IMO this doesn't go far enough to just straight-up restore traditional voting in person on voting day exc. for military.

2
MasterOfIllusions 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well, it's not everything we'd want, but it's a step in the right direction. We've been losing our representation by baby steps. Clearly, we can also get it back the same way. Would a bill to "put everything back the way it was" be as likely to succeed?

Any machine tabulating votes should use a timestamp server plus "onion-style" cryptography -- via hardware modules with an open source design which can be reviewed by everyone for security issues -- to ensure that votes have not been tampered with at any point since introduction into the machine.

The Dominion implementation is a complete joke and allows anyone to change anything, at any point, without any trail. We solved this problem in the 90s with public/private key crypto (PKI), dammit! They aren't even trying to make this secure.

4
LokiVariant 4 points ago +6 / -2

Won’t this impact the white vote? Lots of older folks mail in ballots. This seems like a bad idea.

9
Master_Wyatt_Gurp 9 points ago +9 / -0

Hardly any of them need to mail in. Why cause old? Wtf kind of an excuse. Usually they are the people at the polls.

4
Liberty4All 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yep, and it has always been that way. Even in the 2020 elections, despite the "pandemic," most of the folks working at the voting precincts were elderly.

The really frail/sick folks can always vote absentee. And there are always big efforts to give elderly folks a ride to the polls if they can't drive but want to vote in person.

1
LokiVariant 1 point ago +1 / -0

Good! Drop boxes and unsolicited mail-in voting creates easy opportunities for fraud.

From a 2006 bi-partisan report by the Election Assistance Commission (an independent federal agency): "One point of agreement is that absentee voting and voter registration by nongovernmental groups create opportunities for fraud."

"These interviews in large part confirmed the conclusions that were gleaned from the articles, reports and books that were analyzed. For example, the interviewees largely agreed that absentee balloting is subject to the greatest proportion of fraudulent acts, followed by vote buying and voter registration fraud."

One of the recommendations from this report was to study absentee ballot fraud: "Because absentee ballot fraud constitutes a large portion of election crimes, a stand-alone study of absentee ballot fraud should be conducted."

Source: https://www.eac.gov/sites/default/files/eac_assets/1/6/Initial_Review_and_Recommendations_for_Further_Study.pdf

Curiously, if you go to the EAC's webpage today, this report is difficult to locate.

Fraud by absentee ballots was widely acknowledged by both parties prior to the 2020 election.

2

Dinesh D'Souza is all in on DeSantis.

He says that DeSantis has an advantage over Trump, since DeSantis is tough on substance while avoid ad hominem attacks, which makes enemies within the party.

It's a shame - Trump usually insults people who deserve to be insulted, and he usually does it as a response to an unfair attack - but I agree that working behind the scenes is often more effective.
