A majority of our poll workers are volunteers that work one or two days a year. If there's shady people at the sec of state or even county/city clerk levels, its really hard for the volunteers to know what's going on. There's little oversight to a core principle of the nation and they took advantage of it. In my mind, there should ay minumum be a small sample audit done every election. If irregularities are found then a deeper forensic audit gets triggered. We've been having elections for hundreds of years this ahould not be new.
