Make sure you treat your gas reserves.

Ethanol makes gasoline go bad.

It wasn't about going green (the farming requirements alone makes that hilarious) it was about making sure people can't easily stockpile.

3
keep_america_great 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah I’ve used gas a year later with stabil and it was fine

6
Pleb 6 points ago +6 / -0

I've had vehicles sit for 10 years and run off the same tank. Sure it runs a bit rough but it still runs.

1
Klyuchak 1 point ago +1 / -0

Depends on the exact engine really. Some engines just won't run with even a very small perecentage of water absorbed into the fuel, and others can run like a watch with absolute dogshit fuel. Usually older cars with a carb can atleast be adjusted to run decent with crappy fuel. Older electronicly controlled engines can be quite finnicky with the fuel, but a lot of modern cars can detect the quality of the gas and adjust fuel injection and timing accordingly, even if it's not full blow flex fuel.

2
ChrisTheSoberITGuy 2 points ago +4 / -2

As long as you put enough in it SHOULD be ok for a while, but you can never remove the ethanol

5
RickRoller 5 points ago +5 / -0

You CAN remove the ethanol, but it’s a PITA.

2
TruthyBrat 2 points ago +2 / -0

Personally I use a double dose of marine Sta-Bil in my stored gas cans.

4
Klyuchak 4 points ago +4 / -0

There are places where you can get pure gas without the added ethanol

https://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp

1
Enkryptor 1 point ago +1 / -0

So what is the shelf life of pure gas?

1
Klyuchak 1 point ago +1 / -0

You can pretty safely get around 6 months out of it if stored properly, and it's not unheard of to last well over a year. Using stabilizers to prevent it from absorbing water will help just like with ethanol gas.

1
ChrisTheSoberITGuy 1 point ago +1 / -0

None anywhere near me at all... and I checked one a few towns away, I don't know if it's just that list is outdated or what, but it points to a propane delivery service, no gas pumps or anything.

1
Klyuchak 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not all of them are pumps, as it mentions on the homepage,

"But please don't remove stations simply because they don't sell to autos – many folks use this site to find pure gas for their boats and planes and lawnmowers and pumps and whatever.

Read the station comments carefully. The stations listed here vary in what sort of pure gas they offer: from the typical premium E0 to racing fuel supplied in cans. If you've got a long drive, give the station a call first to be sure they're still selling what you want. And please add a comment to the listing if you find out anything we should know!"

RegularAmerican 13 points ago +13 / -0

I don't save that much gas. I know underground tanks I can go steal from that will probably have something left down at the bottom. I do keep all my vehicles full all the time. It's too much of a logistical nightmare storing large amounts of gasoline I might not even get to use because the roads might not even be driveable. I should step up my ability to generate electricity too. I'm lacking there.

1
JokerPede 1 point ago +2 / -1

Do you not have a true off-road capable vehicle? Like overland capable? And I'm not talking about a pick up truck "cheap" lifted on 37 inch tires with 35 inch wheels - those are not overland "capable"

10
RegularAmerican 10 points ago +10 / -0

I've been wanting to get a nice 4x4 and do some modifications if I had the money. Im even am ASE certified tech. I specialized in electric systems. But I can do almost anything if I have the tools. I used to work for a dealership and the best part was getting to bring in my own cars to work on with the hydraulic lift. Which is so useful when doing certain jobs. I did an entire motor swap there in like 2 days. With help from only one friend. It was a Nissan 240sx I put one of those japanese turbo motors (sr20det) and boosted it. I went from like 110 HP to probably around 240. While making the car a couple hundred pounds lighter. I stripped everything out too as well as the lighter smaller and more powerful turbo motor. But I sold it. Soon as I have the chance I'm selling my Subaru. Id like to get a Hilux but you don't see too many of em around here sadly. Sorry for the long rant I love talking about cars as much as I do guns. Probably more.

2
JokerPede 2 points ago +3 / -1

The Subaru isn't terrible. I rolled with a dude who drove a lifted Forester with mud tires. It was light. He could get it anywhere.

2
Capitalism_Fuck_Yeah 2 points ago +2 / -0

Subarus just don't get stuck. They have the best all wheel drive available.

2
MR_ROBOT1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

If trucks don't fit the criteria then what does?

3
JokerPede 3 points ago +3 / -0

Locker front and rear, actual 4 wheel drive, winch with accessories, and enough rubber to allow for pressure changes to actually have an effect. 2 inches of rubber on a "rim" is fucking worthless off-road.

1
RustySheckelford 1 point ago +1 / -0

What do you think of the new Bronco? Sasquatch package comes with 35" tires, and a rumored 37" tire model might be on the way.

It's got front and rear lockers, a sweet sway bar disconnect, and in manual a nice crawler gear. Tons of available accessories...wninchch, tent, etc .

It's probably the easiest way to get into a capable and reliable 4x4 if you can afford it

1
JokerPede 1 point ago +1 / -0

I haven't looked into them much but now I will. My wallet trembles in fear. Any idea what kind of lockers? I'm assuming electric actuated.

I was hoping we would see the Jeep j6 concept but sadly it appears that remains at just a concept.

2
RustySheckelford 2 points ago +2 / -0

It starts at 28k and I think for around 35k you can get most of the important shit. It looks so damn cool. I do believe it's electric everything, though I did see an aftermarket concept rig with manual locking hubs which was pretty sweet. The only thing missing is a V8.

1
JokerPede 1 point ago +1 / -0

V8 is nice to have but I've driven plenty of rigs off-road with v4s and v6s that did not leave me desiring more horsepower. Although I do want to drop a hellcat or LS into a jeep wrangler or shoehorn it into an older tacoma.. stupid amount of power/torque on a 2 ton chassis. Would be fun for sure.

5
SordidPontification 5 points ago +5 / -0

Multiple sources are reporting this was a randsomware attack, which makes this somewhat less likely.

There's a huge uptick of these across industry. Some are targeted (phishing). Some are from employees clicking things or plugging in USB devices they shouldn't.

Expect to see a shitload more of these. There's a lot of money in it, because the FBI's approach is basically "we can't do anything, just pay the criminals to get the crypto keys."

2
iamherefortheluls 2 points ago +2 / -0

if it was really ransomware, they would have paid up immediately and you would have never heard of it.

hacker groups that actually do ransomware attacks want the reputation that paying up actually saves the company money and reputation.

1
Klyuchak 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thing with the ransomware attacks is while some of the creators may have very well have the intetion of giving keys on payment, many others simply found some script somone else wrote, and have just figured out how to infect people with it and get the money, but don't have any way of getting the keys even if they wanted to. While the ransomeware itself can be quite complex, it just takes basic script kiddie knowledge to infect people with it if you have access.

1
Capitalism_Fuck_Yeah 1 point ago +1 / -0

Don't use windows and you force them to know what they are doing. Windows has built in holes that these guys use all the time but never get fixed.

1
Klyuchak 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, only if you know what you're doing too, very easy to fall behind on updates with certain distros and open yourself up to vulnarabilities. But really the best way to prevent ransomware is to just have proper daily or atleast weekly backups of your important files outside of the PC, and make sure your motherboard is patched for Meltdown/Spectre. Then ransomware becomes trivial.

Might as well get used to it, peak oil was about three years ago, gas is going to be so expensive that few will use it.

1
bangbus 1 point ago +1 / -0

I hope so. I bought shares in Exxon and Valero when the asshats on Wall Street said oil was uninvestable. Locked in damn near 10% yields on both. Good chance they are both down in the short run over this but the fundamentals of the oil and gas market are primed for a massive upswing.

16
Tokyo20DrinkingGame 16 points ago +16 / -0

Buy oil stocks. Between everything opening back up (NASCAR tracks are announcing full capacity, for instance) and demand for travel/vacation/getting the fuck out of liberal cities/states increasing, and now pipelines being shut down by both the government and cyber attacks, I am predicting that oil prices are going to go through the roof this summer.

7
Saxonlady 7 points ago +7 / -0

'Hard times' are relative surely.

Those who already live a frugal, self sufficient, simple life and make provisions for shtf will feel less affected for longer.

For example, this covid shit only affects me when I go into a shop.

I'm not suggesting for a second that hard times are easy, just that hard times are easier for some to manage, than others.

From the article

This pipeline shutdown sends the message that core elements of our national infrastructure continue to be vulnerable to cyberattack.

No shit. And President Trump tried to fix infrastructure with a REAL infrastructure bill, and the RINOS and Communists fought him tooth and nail over it.

4
catch-a-penny 4 points ago +4 / -0

I mean, with this happening, you can see why.

43

2
22
lemonjuice 22 points ago +22 / -0

Instead of trying to save pennies by turning the A/C off, we could have pipeline that is more efficient than rail.

We could also encourage domestic oil production.

Trump was able to get prices low for fuel, for long enough I began to see prices for all kinds of goods/foods become cheaper than the years prior.

Just wait. If they get their 50%+Kamala $2000/month stimulus they will totally end our economy.

need more states to follow SC and Florida. End the free money or people will starve. Already looking at huge price increases on food for this year.

30
Pinochet_Was_Right 30 points ago +31 / -1

Wait till inflation makes 2k a month a joke and 15 dollars an hour unliveable. Prepare to hear about $30 an hour is a ‘living wage’ for high school dropouts

12
Forgototherpassword 12 points ago +12 / -0

The problem is people will have no incentive to work, falsely thinking they have enough to get by. With no production, there will be less goods to purchase. Normally this would take time, but we had a full year of global shutdown. Look at electronics markets. Scalpers are currently using bots to autopurchase high demand items as soon as they post to double the price on Ebay. What happens when that's bags of rice instead?

15
Pinochet_Was_Right 15 points ago +15 / -0

People don’t think beyond their own bubble.

Food just magically appears in their grocery stores, enemies are those people ‘over there’, the economy is something you care about if use stock market, and worse comes to worse they will always have food and money from government. Most people in US have never had the rug pulled from underneath them and experienced just how shitty life can be.

Previous generations made it too good

I'd say the foreigners they are ushering in are their answer to the lazy Americans, but the democrats are including them in the stimulus plans. It seems more likely they want the 3rd world instability.

They are eugenicist, depopulation, luciferians. They are guided by evil to end mankind.

Landlords aren't suddenly going to say, "gee, people have an extra 2k a month, but I'm not going to raise the rents".

No, they'll say people can afford the rent increase 1200$. Minimum wage, universal incomes, price fixing.. It will never be enough because they don't understand the concept of money as a representation of labor and time. They want larger shares of that without actually putting in the time or doing the extra work.

Ha! Rent? I thought the government canceled rent!

11
whataboob 11 points ago +11 / -0

This is also Biden. That is, Biden and this are both the globalist cabal and the CCP. All the same thing, as far as this purposeful decline of the US is concerned.

That's the definition of whistling in the dark.

15
Polkadotard 15 points ago +15 / -0

In my opinion, this should have been kept very quiet. Infrastructure vulnerabilities that affect the way our country keeps moving are national security concerns. Never put a spotlight on a weakness. We have enough problems already, with pedo Joe at the wheel.

10
Bax101 [S] 10 points ago +10 / -0

Lol, China Joe gave China access to our electrical grid. Also just think how many politicians have sold our secrets to China. It's not kept quiet when it's all for sale.

8
PlatinumFMorgan 8 points ago +8 / -0

We don't even know if it is an actual "cyber attack"

Could be a convenient inside job, being publicly blamed on "Russia, Russia, Russia!"

I have a close friend from childhood, a highly educated industrial engineer, who just said the same thing to me not five minutes ago.

This sounds like some bs.. right as travel picks up. Now we gonna have a massive spike in gas

12

9
gamephreak5 9 points ago +9 / -0

How much you wanna bet it was some FBI/CIA fags who made it look like an outside attack?

I wouldnt pit it past our current government doing this against it's own people for disobeying the narrative.

1
Junionthepipeline 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, realistically if it's the fbi or china then it is an outside job by china mabey israel but the fbi/cia are wholly owned chinese subsidiaries now.

8
cosmos411 8 points ago +8 / -0

Lovely. Another excuse for the price of gas to skyrocket over night and trickle back down over the coming weeks.

US Intel attack.

Blame will be placed on Russia acting on behalf of Trump and his supporters.

7

Biden said we would have an oil shortage this summer, so they are now making one, we where a net exporter before how IN THE HELL CAN THIS HAPPEN, Oh that's right the commie dems are in charge. bullshit, I'm going hunting

I call fake. They’re just hoarding it

6

All this increase in gas price, food prices, energy costs. All without a TAX increse. Just like Joe promised. /SARC

6

It's not like someone named Biden promised he would shut fossil fuel down. Oh, wait...

5
MohZambique 5 points ago +7 / -2

This company doesn't put a dent in the US pipeline supply capacity. Wildly misleading, and it makes us all look like morons.

1
TruthyBrat 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sorry, incorrect. Colonial is a major player and operates some key gasoline pipelines.

2
MohZambique 2 points ago +2 / -0

They have one big regional refined products pipeline, and are not the "largest US producer of gas, diesel, and jet fuel..." as the title says.

Capacity utilization is down, the infrastructure is overbuilt everywhere since all the midstreams went on a CAPEX spree while they can still build pipelines, and any NGL pipeline can be converted to refined products if need be. Some areas would see an uptick from trucking to the final destinations, but 5000 miles of pipeline is nothing in the scheme of hundreds of thousands of miles of pipeline, even if it is a nice cash cow. It was much more important before the energy revitalization.

5
Tellsyouhow 5 points ago +5 / -0

Klaus Schwab the globalist mouthpiece behind the great reset has openly said we should prepare for a cyber attack that will make COVID pale into insignificance.

They are basically spelling out their plan but still people are taken by surprise

3
americafirst1994 3 points ago +3 / -0

and he said it in a presentation about COVID. like bruh, we werent even on that subject and you just decided to bring this up? they're going to go full force with this. prepare

5
remember1776 5 points ago +5 / -0

CIA did it

1
mikethemarine 1 point ago +1 / -0

like joe would say, COME ON MAN, But I say your exactly right, but don't forget the dems also

5
Jackanapes 5 points ago +5 / -0

Another reason to not get rid of my 20 year old VW Diesel Golf that gets 38-42 mpg

4
Mexicola1976 4 points ago +4 / -0

Lol. One summer (in 97') my buddy bought a 91 or so Golf for like 1k and we rented a condo with a couple of other friends and spent the Summer riding around in it. $10 I'm gas and we could drive for days. Then one day the car broke down and dude just left it somewhere. "He forgot" where it brokedown- he was leaving in a couple of days to fuck off to med school, so he didn't give a shit. That was not a bad car-- we'd easily put on 100 miles a day in the thing, sometimes 300.

4
TrumpsLoveChild 4 points ago +4 / -0

It was the Biden Admin, FIB, CIA, DOJ, etc... They are all getting turns running Dementia Joe!

4
michaelconfoy 4 points ago +5 / -1

All part of the plan

This warning was issued last week.

https://media.patriots.win/post/K6kn4CHf.png

6
Nibba 6 points ago +6 / -0

That list has been being pushed since the ‘90’s if not longer. That’s nothing new.

4
michaelconfoy 4 points ago +4 / -0

I still believe the crisis (shortage) is manufactured. I noticed a jump in food prices this week.

2
Nibba 2 points ago +2 / -0

There is no doubt about that. I sure had some sticker shock at the grocery store a month ago when we got hit after diesel almost doubled in price.

4
StrategicPatriot 4 points ago +4 / -0

They planned for this with their “simulation” Operation Polygon

4
Bax101 [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yea beginning of it. I think it's a small part of it until July when they actually go forward with it

3
americafirst1994 3 points ago +3 / -0

July is their timeframe for ramping it up? any idea on what time in July? shit.......

2
Bax101 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Cyber Polygon where they're going to wipe out any non secure digital currency including bank accounts.

1
Junionthepipeline 1 point ago +1 / -0

And nationwide vaccine passports

1
americafirst1994 1 point ago +1 / -0

crypto currencies as well?

1
americafirst1994 1 point ago +1 / -0

they stated that it will happen this july? i thought cyber polygon 2021 where they do a scenario is in july, meaning they would pull this off a few months after?

4
obamagavemeaphone 4 points ago +4 / -0

“On May 7, the Colonial Pipeline Company learned it was the victim of a cybersecurity attack. In response, we proactively took certain systems offline to contain the threat, which has temporarily halted all pipeline operations, and affected some of our IT systems.”

Sounds like "someone" is using our STUXNET back against us... that's why they took that shit offline ASAP!

3
JOHN-PIZZA-PEDOSTA 3 points ago +3 / -0

I was wondering if it was stux. Or chinassho, resembling a imotet.

XD

2
RabidZoo 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well...who had access to that??

3
Bigsweaties 3 points ago +3 / -0

I was told there would be shortages...

3
shadows_of_the_mind 3 points ago +3 / -0

I was in Vermont for the last week. When I left NJ gas was an outrageous $2.69/gal. I got back last night, it’s now $2.85

3
Snowmexican 3 points ago +3 / -0

It costs me an extra $52 to fill my truck now

1
XCorneliusX 1 point ago +1 / -0

Tampa, FL, where I work. Over a week ago, $2.64/gal. Last Friday, same station, $2.85/gal.

1
cosmichyperlapse 1 point ago +1 / -0

$3.25 for diesel in IL

1
RabidZoo 1 point ago +1 / -0

We just broke $3.10.

3
ARCWELD 3 points ago +3 / -0

This will not be a strictly East Coast problem. Buckle up for the supply chain shortage.

3
JokerPede 3 points ago +3 / -0

And I've been saying this shit could happen since 2014.. and saying it to the people who could approve the necessary changes. All of those people told me something to the effect of "That kind of stuff only happens in movies" or "that's Jason Bourne/mission impossible type scenario and unlikely to happen."

Fucking morons.

3
AnointedVisions 3 points ago +3 / -0

Who would do that

4
PlatinumFMorgan 4 points ago +4 / -0

The same people who are accidentally on purpose hitting other countries with "uncontrolled reentry" of rocket parts, AKA "Probing attacks"

2
crash7863 2 points ago +2 / -0

Which countries produce oil?

Does OPEC want to bend over Americans to sell their oil for more money? You better bet they do. More than likely this was done by an OPEC country. It's easy money to make if you can force the American futures market panic.

2
mikethemarine 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's no cyber attack, this is the dems and the deep state, probably the CIA, to help force their agenda

1
crash7863 1 point ago +2 / -1

Nope. All conspiracies are related to money, not power.... since money IS power. Somebody wants to panic the market because they know they're going to make bank.

1
mikethemarine 1 point ago +1 / -0

your right and I stated that earlier, but I've been accused of being a troll for multiply posting the same belief more than once

2
Firespawn 2 points ago +2 / -0

Made up excuse to shut it down.

2
waratah 2 points ago +2 / -0

Get ready for California gas prices in the South.

Part of the plan folks.

2
Cyberpunkd 2 points ago +2 / -0

Great, prices are going to skyrocket....

2
catinmylapone 2 points ago +2 / -0

We called the FBI and they said don't worry we caused, uhm...we got this covered.

2
ellisd 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thank God we are oil independent...

April Fools!!!!

2
BigBadJim 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes... cyber attack, and not a deliberate shutting down to short production and raise prices.

2
Elariom23 2 points ago +2 / -0

Guess it's time to start another ME war for oil.

1
lemonjuice 1 point ago +1 / -0

We aren't there for the oil. Never was about the oil.

1
Elariom23 1 point ago +1 / -0

Source?

2
wiseracer 2 points ago +2 / -0

I find it strange that all the discussion on the news is about gas prices and not about the cyber attack. I feel like the lead here is the cyber attack, not the incoming price increase.

2
PonySoldier66 2 points ago +2 / -0

OR it just may be a story to raise gas prices.
