The locality of the phenomenon is the same in California. It's a tiny amount of the land area that mandates masks seriously, most of the state is pretty mask free, just like Texas.
It's funny in the Sierras where almost no place cares except that one little weed town here or there.
A lot of mask wearers in San Antonio area. But go out of the city into surrounding red counties and the mask's start to drop off. I don't wear one. However, if the place requires it - and I really need to get something there - I'll put it on. But I essentially don't patronize places that require it.
I would think a red state would still have +50% in the cities not wearing one. I didn't wear one, I never do (except getting on the plane) and after a few days got my whole group to drop the mask but everywhere was masked hordes of dumbasses. All the stores and bars required them...in a state that has no mask mandate. This includes one-off mom-and-pop restos and bars and grocery stores. I never saw anyone else without a mask. Even walking down the street or riding their bike in 84 degree weather, alone! (And that dude went to the gym where I was kicked out for not having a mask). United had to give me one at O'Hare airport and I didn't even wear it there, until getting on a plane.
At this point I'm begging you all ... PLEASE, drop the mask. I'm getting so tired of this and feel like I'm taking on the world alone. I live in Chicago and just want to see one person, just ONE, without a mask for once. It would give me a big boost. I thought I'd see freedom in Texas, my friends told me it would be worth the plane ride from hell ... Sigh.
See this is the problem, you see a little sign on a door that says wear a mask and you comply. Stop wearing masks. Take your freedom back. You will find out all these require masks store won't say or do anything about you not wearing a mask. If enough maskless people start going to the store, guess what happens, the store takes down their stupid mask required sign. I have already seen a couple stores do this in my area, even some pharmacies.
I'm supposed to find out if my job stays work from home permanently in the next couple weeks (one of the few advantages to working in tech). If it does I'm getting the fuck out and going to TX.
Sorry to hear that, pede. I love working from home and think it's one of the few good things to come from wu-flu. I hope my daily morning commute will be the 10 seconds from my bed to my desk instead of the 45 minutes I had to deal with before.
Home Depot near me in TX has this big sign saying you have to wear a mask “even if vaccinated”. Went in unmasked with my family, saw tons of unmasked people and even a few employees not wearing masks.
I was just in Texas where everyone was wearing a mask. WTF Texas. Totally disappointed.

Depends on the city.

We're supposed to go back in September. :(

September here too for tech... hoping they give in an allow permanent.
Fuck traffic, who is gonna wanna do rushhour again?
That's what I'm wondering. Who the HELL will want to ever do rush hour again?
It may be time to rethink the benefits of tarring and feathering.
"More liberal", are these faggots changing the definition of the word again and pretending to support liberty?

“Thank you lord Fauxi !!👏”
That's great I guess BLM blocking intersections can breath.
Boomer Sooner Vroom Vroom
Not my fucking work
Oh so now it’s liberal to take the mask off
What clown world is this
More liberal?
We don't need the US to be more liberal.
No one cares what the leprechaun says. He needs to be lynched for all the death and breach of civil liberties he has caused.
heard y’all had a little trouble atcher intersections though
