No vent, and the spill proof spouts lead to more spills.
youtube has some vids on adding a tire air stem & valve to a new can for use as a vent at least.
Edit: the rubber tire stems swell, so use metal stems or they sell plastic old style ones on ebays.
New ones have a little button to push to vent. It works okay but that extra complexity just makes more failure points on something that should be stupid simple.
The gas can is a perfect example of why people end up starving to death in socialist governments.
Drill a small hole in the top opposite of the spout, you can rip the guts out of said spout and you now have a pre-EPA can. If your worried about spilling from the vent hole, stick a wood skewer in it.
