Don't forget about all of us north of you guys. The ROS (rest of state) would LOVE to see the power vote, for the governor, be cast in an electoral county format...

7
masticator_nord 7 points ago +7 / -0

I grew up in the ROS farmlands. I went back last month to visit family and I saw the biggest Trump sign I've ever seen in the town I grew up in.

Then I was told that Cuomo banned plastic bags.

Up here in the small towns of the Adirondacks... It's as red as the south...

5
Super_Comfortable 5 points ago +5 / -0

I always felt it was a cold version of the South. But, they are still a bit more liberal than southerners.

I agree.

One of the mistakes the founders made was not making the electoral college strong enough.

They knew that smaller states need representation and had to balance the power with the highly populated states.

What the founders didn’t realize was how powerful cities could become. Our towns/counties need representation and protection from highly populated cities within the state.

Edit: typo.

OriginalDankStar 4 points ago +4 / -0

My buddy lives by the lakes and agrees - it’s all about NYC. And cuomo is a murderer for bussing sick people out there. And it’s nationwide. You have the richest corporations in history concentrated in a few cities dictating policy. The same companies pushing woke supremecy are the same companies using Uighur slave labor. What’s the net effect of national $15/hr min wage? Drive people into cities where cost of living is higher and employers can afford it.

2
Mashiki 2 points ago +2 / -0

I can tell you what the effect of going from $10 to $14 here in Ontario was. ~250,000 lost their jobs, and when the coof started nearly 190,000 of them were still unemployed ~2 years later.

Terrible

4
Johnrgalt 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yep I agree with that too.

They knew the system wasn’t gonna be perfect forever and they gave us means to fix and amend it.

Getting certain people to realize what the real issues are is whole other story.

Razorfist did a great short video on why we need in state electoral voting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pJlJ8FJWZk

If every state's large cities were made like DC the country would not be run by leftists. But alas..the posers that be cant allow that.

-36
TheThreeSeashells -36 points ago +6 / -42

New York State REALLY needs an electoral college style voting system. The city controls too many elections. Most people don't realize that if it had not been for NYC, Rick Lazio would have beaten Hillary Clinton when she carpetbagged her way into her first Senate campaign.

Unfortunately, I know this will never happen unless they somehow manage to get a Republican in as Governor. Even then, nobody will have the balls or brains to do it.

22
theblackprince 22 points ago +22 / -0

Involve yourself with local politics. It should be one of our hobbies. A part-time job for the rest of our lives. This is the duty of all citizens in a republic! "I just want to be left alone" is what an anarchist says, or maybe a very faithful monarchist. If we all could involve ourselves locally, then group together at the state level, and do this across 20+ states, DC would actually have a problem. This is what the last 3 generations failed miserably at and it's why we're where we are. It's the only play to get the train back on the rails. Everything else is just waiting to see what the damage will be, and it could very well be catastrophic and fatal. Assuming the entirety of US government was replaced with great people tomorrow working together for our future, WE STILL HAVE TO GET INVOLVED... Or it will rot away again to where we're at now.

6
DennyCrane 6 points ago +6 / -0

Exactly. The people in control are the people who show up. If we don’t, they do and everyone suffers because of it.

3
MasterOfIllusions 3 points ago +3 / -0

This article shows a good example of how to organize people on our side, though having alternatives to facebook and tiktok would be valuable. This is why we need state-level .wins, or at least an explanation from the admins of why they won't make them so that we can put our energy into making something that works.

2
OriginalDankStar 2 points ago +2 / -0

I’ve been blowing up the people I know in the RNC and they started ignoring me! The shenanigans surrounding candidate selection in my state are off the charts designed seemingly so people don’t get involved. I don’t know the best path forward. I hope we can cleanse the RNC for 2022 but those shameless cucks hit me up for money constantly and then ignore me when I share my opinion!

Shakakka99 6 points ago +6 / -0

Long Islander here. We're at least 80% based where I live (central LI). Probably more.

I fully agree that we need to start breaking the state up when it comes to electoral power. NYC would be fucked.

6
Eternal_Vigilance 6 points ago +6 / -0

I went to the trump boat parade in montauk and the car parade rolled into town. It was quite the site to see thousands of cars rolling into that small drinking town with a fishing problem. 💪

43
sir-coffee 43 points ago +43 / -0

Nobody here believes that Trump only won by 200 votes here in Suffolk County. it's fucking MAGA country out here.

1
RonJoner 1 point ago +1 / -0

Massive MASSIVE public sector votes democrat on LI.

Conservatives on Long Island are tax cucks for teachers (all Dems, and there are sooo many districts) and cops and a massive public sector. That's why the votes are close.

45FortheWin 1 point ago +1 / -0

New York has a long history of "fortifying" elections.

Just stay out of the shitholes like Wyandanch, Brentwood and Central Islip. Those surrounding neighborhoods really need a wall.

And most of bay shore... there are a lot of shitty areas now that i think about it lol

2
StrongIsland 2 points ago +2 / -0

You don’t like the beautiful new co-op that they built in wyandanch, the one next to the train station? They are popping up near train stations everywhere if you notice stuff like that.

-40
TheThreeSeashells -40 points ago +2 / -42

See my post elsewhere in this thread. I didn't address the one in Wyandanch, but I did mention the travesty they've constructed in Ronkonkoma and made mention of the other stops along the LIRR.

I left L.I. a few years ago when I read the writing on the wall, but I still have a lot of people on the ground there telling me what's going on. Last time I was in Ronkonkoma there were "city folk" just wandering aimlessly around the neighborhood with beers/alcohol in hand. I'm told it's just getting worse. The saying "You can't bring there here without here becoming there" is all too relevant.

Just 2 counties in the whole state... from the article “with no less than 15,000 people, rolling from Suffolk County to Nassau County’s Eisenhower Park, blaring horns, flying thousands of Trump flags” Don’t be scared, we’re friendly 👋

1
MasklessMarvel 1 point ago +2 / -1

even CA had the balls to force a recall election

4
StrongIsland 4 points ago +4 / -0

We can’t recall Cuomolini like they did in CA, and you’re not a NYer so enough with trying to get under my skin, here’s a ball go fetch or something

1
MasklessMarvel 1 point ago +1 / -0

why can't you recall killer Cuomo?

or at least show some dissatisfaction with him

here is all you need to know about NY:

Joplin MO Tornado- the warning was still sounding and the tornado was still on the ground when people climbed out the rubble and immediately started helping their neighbors

Super storm Sandy- over a year after the storm people were still sitting in their damaged homes and businesses bitching that the government was not doing anything

you’re not a NYer

that's the nicest thing anyone ever said to me

and it's NYner

2
StrongIsland 2 points ago +2 / -0

My neighbors still haven’t rebuilt after sandy, insurance ran out, stalled and changed requirements when rebuilding began, not enough companies able to lift houses to meet requirements, so lots have sat or only got halfway repaired. Were you here in sandy, because if you were you would know neighbors immediately started helping other neighbors.

And I’ll tawk how ever I want, you don’t control someone else’s speech, commies do that shit

1
MasklessMarvel 1 point ago +1 / -0

My neighbors still haven’t rebuilt after sandy, insurance ran out, stalled and changed requirements when rebuilding began, not enough companies able to lift houses to meet requirements, so lots have sat or only got halfway repaired.

Changing the building codes in the middle of rebuilding from a disaster?

WTF?

JUST what I was talking about- complete dependency and a always plethora of excuses

that's why CA and NY will always be CA and NY

I went "down the shore" (I'm more of a Jersey guy) after Sandy

it seemed like the gub'mint was more interested in fixing streets and boardwalks to get those profitable tax-generating businesses going again than being out in the neighborhoods fixing houses

that's what happens when you let the gubmint take care of things

You know, when I ask people why they live in CA they say it's because of the great weather

Why i the fuck would anyone want to live in NY, especially present day NY

-34
TheThreeSeashells -34 points ago +8 / -42

Farash led a large caravan to Cuomo’s home several times so that they could let the governor know how they feel about elected officials who kill 16,000 elderly people.

That's more than anyone else is doing on our side anywhere in the country. Oh, but we don't "dox" or bother people in their homes. We take the "high road." I'm glad these folks aren't falling back on that tired, old excuse. Besides, the GOP didn't even bother to run a real candidate against Cuomo, writing it off as an unwinnable race. What do you want them to do when the party doesn't even try and run against the enemy?

0
MasklessMarvel 0 points ago +1 / -1

let the governor know how they feel

did they shake their fingers at him?

What do you want them to do when the party doesn't even try and run against the enemy?

who needs a party? get your ass out and vote

it's always the same with NY and CA conservatives

"We want to change but we just caaaaaaan't win with those meanie democrats in office"

-39
TheThreeSeashells -39 points ago +3 / -42

did they shake their fingers at him?

Seeing people showing up at their homes is a LOT different than "strongly-worded letters" and yelling at empty buildings on a weekend.

who needs a party? get your ass out and vote

You do understand how primaries and elections (that aren't fraudulent) work, right? If nobody is running against a candidate, you can vote as hard as you want, you're not winning.

it's always the same with NY and CA conservatives

I don't live in either state. I just understand how the systems there are corrupted and how the Republicans don't even try to win in those states.

MasklessMarvel 1 point ago +1 / -0

LawnGuyLand ❤️

8
ineX0r2 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yeah, literally. Soon as the temp hits 50 degrees, out come the scores of illegals with leaf blowers, running around, blowing stuff out of the way, making a ton of noise, then they come back two days later to every property in the neighborhood and do it all again, for no fucking reason. I rented for almost two years near the north shore, and it was LOUD all day every day.

9
Miracle_on_Ice 9 points ago +9 / -0

You know it is an official Long Island thread when someone complains about leaf blowers! LOL

SPEZ: I hear one down the block from me right now!

3
Zytos 3 points ago +3 / -0

Pretty much; I live on the North Shore now. God forbid anyone does their own lawns.

2
ineX0r2 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nobody does. I've lived in both Queens and Long Island. LI was louder.

1
endthefed11 1 point ago +1 / -0

Leaf blowers make me homicidal when I'm trying to sleep after a 24 hr shift.

1
StrongIsland 1 point ago +1 / -0

Oh, bummer? I have my own leaf blower, don’t need a team of illegals, I’ve got a kid who needs to do chores, leaf blowing is fun and yes makes noise, let’s all go back to rakes 😂

Kudos to these Patriots.

Now make lots of babies and outbreed the left!

6

Outbreeding then is not the problem voter fraud is what is keeping these losers in office, fix the fraud and these scum will be kicked out of office.

3

That is why they are importing voters and buying them off with gibs.

1

5
censorthisss 5 points ago +5 / -0

We need to get more of these going for a variety of reasons. One of them is so lady pedes can meet gentlemen pedes and eventually make little pedes.

Liberal women aren't having children (thankfully), so we need to capitalize on that.

Originally from Oceanside. Graduated OHS in 1967. Drafted during Vietnam (4 years). In Junior High during 11/22/1963 I knew then that our government was corrupt. Left O'side in 1979. Always a staunch Patriot. This is a war of evil vs good. As fast as the globalists try to destroy America, POTUS Trump and his team will destroy them and restore America to its greatness. Remember there really isn't two party's. 90% of the Senate and the House are anti-American corrupt criminals. This will be dealt with swiftly.
