Another really annoying thing is the page reloads every time I go back from reading comments and lose my place. I can’t tell you how many times in rising I have to search for my place again.
Yeah it's annoying losing your place, can't see how you could stop new content being added though.
I only started using the "hide" button a few months back and love it. Everytime I open up a post in a new tab to read comments, or finish looking at the thumbnail from the front page, I hide it.
Most of the time if I then go back to the front page or refresh it, most of the remaining posts are still relatively in the same order/ranking, fortunately.
That can change depending on how busy the site is or how much is being posted, or how many minutes I've been away, but it pretty much works for me.
Yes, this just started happening to me about a month ago, very annoying!
It’s annoying as hell. I also wish there was a way to know when clicking on a thumbnail is going to open an external link rather than just enlarging the photo. Come on, man!!!
I also wish this site on PC worked with the Imagus extension. I love being able to hover my mouse over the thumbnails and see the full size images.
But yeah this site on mobile isn't that great. I don't even think I can zoom in anymore at all since the new site went live a few months ago. Usually what I do is just long press the photo and open in a new tab, then close when I'm finished.
Yes, I miss being able to zoom in on pics w/o clicking the page, but mods work so hard for us for free, I hate to bring up any complaints. I've developed skill in holding the zoom pinch to keep the sidebar window at bay!
No one's suggesting the mods/devs aren't appreciated, and suggesting improvements certainly doesn't do that.
It's a fixable flaw being brought to their attention, nothing more nothing less.

Well, with a touchscreen, yeah. Windows 10 was originally built for it.
It literally says I'm on an android in the post. It's a phone. It's not set to desktop mode. Other people have agreed with votes and comments.
The problem is real on all mobile OS’s. The site thinks zooming out is swiping right to access the sidebar.
