This is going to get more common with other things too. We're going to be going back to people siphoning from your gas tank pretty soon.

I'm so glad our president doesn't make tweets I don't like.

But I wonder how they offload it. Do they just haul it to a lumber yard or something and sell it?

Wtf? Are you in south central/eastern ky or tn?

Damn brother when you said "timber" I thought "this guy meant lumber", but these assholes are cutting down your trees???

JustTheNews [S] 16 points ago +16 / -0

I've never heard of anything like this... have a tree farm in West KY too...

Are these hippies chopping down smaller trees like 12" and smaller or something?

I'm gonna ask you a bunch of questions cause if we figure out what they're doing you might be able to catch em.

You said hickory? I can't figure out wth anybody would be doing with hickory. About all they do with it is make flooring and cabinetry. Now I could see them chopping down cedar or pine. I know yall have a lot of pine trees out there... that stuff would be pretty easy to mill into 2x4s or 2x6s. Cedar could be milled into the same and since its rot resistant could be sold for decking and stuff. You can't really pull hardwood $$$ trees outta the woods with a four wheeler... so I'm guessing they aren't doing that... maybe they are getting pine or cedar?

I mean my first thought is put out well hidden deer cams or even get one of the 4G ones and put out so you can check it remotely. Unless you wanna do some east KY justice you are gonna have to have some proof to give to the Laurel county sheriff or wherever you're at.

maybe just firewood....doe the rest of the year, maybe they are just cutting down trees for the hell of it, i would say the could think the land was abandoned but it has signs all over....i got some people contacted me a lot of good advice and ideas, most people just said kill em, lol

1
sir_rockness 1 point ago +1 / -0

ha yeah you can't kill em...

We've dealt with poachers, trespassers, ginseng hunters, arrowhead hunters our whole lives... you can't kill them, can't booby trap em.

We'd love to do it but we gotta take the high ground.

If you aren't gonna hunt there yourself lease it out to the Amish. They'll bring ever cousin, sister and brother they have multiple times a week and nobody will ever get past them. You won't have any game left in a season or two but if you ain't into that who cares.

That and 4G deercams and a listening ear at the sheriff's office are probably you're best bet.

Good luck, I'm sure you well know... if you own land in KY that's the way its always gonna be unless you can somehow control all access to your land with fencing and super strong gates.

6,000 people is a city where I'm from. Look up Winona Kansas lmao

2
JustTheNews [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

how many tornados have you lived through lol

2
BunnyPicnic 2 points ago +2 / -0

More than enough lol. Just had one destroy Selden Kansas a few days ago. I was a junior in high school when the Greensburg tornadoes happened. Most tornadoes we see are f3 or smaller, and usually out in a wheat field not doing much damage. But man, that Greensburg tornado was something else. I remember watching a show and a weather alert came on, pretty typical for a western Kansas spring night. But when the meteorologist called it a tornado emergency, I could tell this was serious. That tornado grew to around 2 miles wide. The worst part was that it was after dark, so you could only see it with lightning, and it was scary. You can't hide from a 2 mile wide tornado with 250mph winds.

Why do you live there lol! Ive been through one when i was really really young, i barely remember it i just remember it sounded like a train was going over our house.... neighbor from a few miles away trampoline on our chimney the guy behind us literally lost his prized pony. (my old dog had to be killed because that pony, he was chasing it so the warden came out but back then my dad just said ill take care of it and the rest is self explanatory) but this pony was lost never to be seen again lol....

2
BunnyPicnic 2 points ago +2 / -0

Why do I live there?

Pretty easy questions honestly. Small communities are how humans are supposed to live, imo. There's no homeless people in small towns because everyone knows everyone and we take care of each other. Fewer minorities, although SW Kansas is Mexico now. Definitely way less liberals in rural areas, huge huge plus. And somebody has to raise the beef and grow the wheat.

JustTheNews [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

yeah but it gets destroyed every summer by a tornado lol

JustTheNews [S] 9 points ago +10 / -1

3
dayd12134 3 points ago +3 / -0

We can send them to tree jail where they can await the sweet relief of death. Evisceration by 1000 branches of a mighty oak!

2
JustTheNews [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

LOL! get some

TheRougarou 6 points ago +6 / -0

If I was anywhere near you I would do it for the fishing alone. I say check the local VFW, I guarantee there is someone there interested in an adventure.

7
JustTheNews [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

lol, i need someone with a very stable mind, who can control that trigger finger lol... Im sure i could open my phone and find an 11b who would go down there and really just waste people and bury them in the woods lol.....Tree law, if arrested they will be liable for up to 3x the value of the tree. Id rather have the money than a biohazard on my land.

4
TheRougarou 4 points ago +4 / -0

Lol, true. I was 11b at one point, but I would not kill them unless they drew on me. I would also video record the whole thing to legally protect myself. Not worth jail time. Good luck! I hope you catch them and make them pay a shit ton of money. I hate trespassers.

I don't even live in timber country and we still get tree thieves. County sheriff chased two dipshits about twenty miles down the two lane last month. Finally caught them when they ran into a tree.

GrayManNumber333 2 points ago +2 / -0

They have a mill or your local large mill is somehow paying money unlike most places. I’d bet they have a small mill. Look for local mills and try to get some identifying info on them.

1
JustTheNews [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

a lot of people just buy land down there for timber, so i dont understand what makes mine so apeasing, the only thing i can think of is it is in the middle of nowhere

1
GrayManNumber333 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don’t see how timber is worth stealing. Near me mills are only giving enough for landowners to get $1/ton.

1
JustTheNews [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

i dont know how they would be able to sell it anyway so yeah, i agree, it could just be people using it for their own purposes......even if they found a mill to buy it, wouldnt they have to prove where they got it

1
GrayManNumber333 1 point ago +1 / -0

That’s why I suspect they own a portable mill. Lumber is high, timber is low.

2
ItCameTrue 2 points ago +2 / -0

If you were closer I would try to help - but I’d probably only be able to collect if bodies count. Hippies are way too gross to go hands on and subdue.

6
JustTheNews [S] 6 points ago +6 / -0

just hold them at gunpoint until the local redneck arrive, then they will take it from there, they will personally hog tie them, throw them into the back of their FORD FUCKING RNAGER and drive him to the sherrif.

2
BunnyPicnic 2 points ago +2 / -0

SHOOT THEM

1
HiddenDekuScrub 1 point ago +1 / -0

1
UnvaxxedGoy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Sounds like a good hunting opportunity, for two-legged creatures.

1
Burchoid 1 point ago +1 / -0

Restrict access. Put up a gate with a lock. It's not ez to get wood out of the forest!

2
JustTheNews [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

piss off you don't have a clue what goes on out in the country

1
HiddenDekuScrub 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'd say if one gets squished the problem will solve itself, but the survivors would probably find some way to sue him...

Which is why he wants them alive as the courts will slap them with more fines than what their lives are worth.
