Prevent illegals from voting and Texas likely stays red forever.

YourOwnGreatGrandma 91 points ago +95 / -4

If we keep allowing uncritical racist theory to indoctrinate kids then there will be no red states left in 10-15 years.

Education is already lost and it needs to be reclaimed. School vouchers and private institutions.

Almost everything the Govt does can be done better, faster, cheaper, more efficiently and provide more jobs by the private sector.

Carry_Your_Name 2 points ago +2 / -0

This libertarian point of view is not necessarily true. Tyranny of oligarchs are tyrannt nonetheless. It's worse than a tyrannical government because you con't hold them accountable. We've got the Big Food and Big Pharma cabals ruining our bodies, and we've got the Big Tech and Big Media cabals ruining our minds. Maybe it looks like they are indeed doing better at their job, more effective and efficient, but their job makes you addicted and ended up worse than ever before.

2
Carry_Your_Name 2 points ago +2 / -0

The only silver lining during the lockdown was that those damn commie indoctrination centers were closed up.

15
ShowMeState90 15 points ago +15 / -0

Yep.

Get leftists out of education and media. I plan to go into education when I gain a little more experience with my career.

I warned many people about this when Trump was president and everyone was acting like everything was alright. We were just reliving the 1980s. A good President working to fix Deep State/commie shenanigans abroad but leftists subverting the culture at home and continuing to poison our youth with their Satanic, hate-filled bilge.

Who do you think is brainwashing America’s doctors, nurses, bankers, lawyers, soldiers, etc etc etc?

Number of trillionaires on democrat side willing to shove billions in funding to "bleeding losses" for ideological goals: 3.

Number of trillionaires on republican side willing to shove billions in funding to "bleeding losses" for ideological goals: 0

We know how this ends.

Zuckerberg funneled millions into districts to ensure blue voting.

Bloomberg creating a 500 million pet project to get guns banned.

These people aren't fucking around. they're taking their personal wealth and sha[ping your world far better than any single vote.

3
Carry_Your_Name 3 points ago +3 / -0

Those oligarchs didn't just pump in millions of dollars to grease the political machine anymore, they were actively operating it. They were in it, meddling with the election process, and they boasted about it in that Time piece. They proudly called themselves a WELL FUNDED CABAL that managed to have the election FORTIFIED. If this becomes the norm, this is the end of democracy, 2016 would be the last relatively free and fair election in American history and probably human history.

7
covid-is-real 7 points ago +7 / -0

I personally think making it “school choice” would be enough to break “critical race theory” and teachers unions.

1
DonuteaterReturns 1 point ago +1 / -0

Enough isn't good enough.

1
Ponysoldierpatriot 1 point ago +1 / -0

If the public education system uses the same methods to teach critical race theory as they use to teach english and mathematics then we will have nothing to worry about. Most public schools are so incompetent that they are just a glorified day care and the students don’t learn anything because the teachers are morons.

Every time you see a democrat "shocked" that Texas hasn't turned blue, what they're really saying is they thought their cheating worked.

But you'd be surprised - people along the Mexican border went for Trump. That's how massive his victory was in the last election.

8
MauserShooter 8 points ago +8 / -0

This may be a shocker for democrats.

Most Mexicans are socially conservative. They are just voting for their best interest $ money wise.

But tell them that the people teaching their kids is going to be a cross dressing man, you have another problem. You may end buried in the valley.

7
Observe95 7 points ago +8 / -1

True. Republicans need to stop being afraid to fight the cultural wars.

3
doug2 3 points ago +4 / -1

Bullshit illegals are overwhelmingly leftie. Conservatives don't vote for gibs.

4
Prudentwait 4 points ago +4 / -0

Illegal aliens from Mexico are turning against dems because the next generation of migrants are mostly from central America. Still shouldn't be here either way though. No more migration for at least 50 years.

2
MauserShooter 2 points ago +2 / -0

Your taking about illegals. I am talking about the Hispanics on the border that have lived there since the Texas war of independence.

2
BasedTemplar 2 points ago +2 / -0

More people are economically moderate/liberal and socially conservative than people think. Many Hispanics fit in this category.

1
Carry_Your_Name 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's not a shocker. Why else do you think are they summoning caravans from central America and other third world shitholes?

1
Afeazo 1 point ago +1 / -0

They may be socially conservative but they still majorly vote dem. I live in Silicon Valley, was walking by one of their churches today as they were coming out. All dressed well, together as families, walking back home laughing and having a good time. They are all very good people, hard working (you see it every time you watch them work in the restaurants serving the yuppies their $14 burritos they get slammed with orders with, or slaving away in the heat installing the yuppies labor intesive "eco-landscaping") but they still vote for dems along with the yuppies they are slaving over.

6
DynoD 6 points ago +6 / -0

You're right, there were several right along the border that went for Trump, a total kick in the teeth for the lefties. 🤣😆🤣

13
ThomasJ 13 points ago +15 / -2

Too optimistic. Whites are decreasing in population and non-whites are increasing and overwhelmingly vote Democrat. And we are assuming Trump will run for the rest of time. What if the GOP puts a faggot tranny up for President? Or puts up Nimrata "Nikki Haley" Randhawa for President? I'm sure as hell not going to be voting for a bitch like her and pretty sure a lot of people won't also

10
ModsBanPaleos 10 points ago +13 / -3

Nobody wants to discuss demographics because republicans are too scared to be called “racist “

6
doug2 6 points ago +7 / -1

We discuss demographics all the time here. Anaconda comes in and calls everyone a stormfag.

6
WinsomeWonder 6 points ago +6 / -0

Look at Miami. Conservative values lead to success, we're just the absolute worst at messaging. The leftists own the media and communications infrastructure.

2
Afeazo 2 points ago +2 / -0

We really are not that bad at messaging. I mean look, Trump was able to get into office despite the constant media smears, and after four years of nothing but 24/7 hit pieces he got even more votes than the first time around. Probably more than what is reported even.

I do not think we are bad at messaging, the left is just good at manipulation. And once the manipulation takes hold, it holds. Convincing them they were brainwashed or lied to or manipulated would be like trying to convince a theist to drop their beliefs.

1
WinsomeWonder 1 point ago +1 / -0

Trump is excellent at branding and marketing and he had unfettered access to communications infrastructure. They nixed his ability to communicate with people.

I think there is a sort of religious cult going on with the woke and the covid paranoid though. Not sure how you break it, they were able to get quality brainwashed because of the social isolation

2
SteveMcQu33n 2 points ago +2 / -0

Miami-made County Florida went from being won by the democrats by 63% to by 53% in one election cycle. The county is majority Hispanic.

4
Prudentwait 4 points ago +4 / -0

Cubans are the only Hispanic group that has consistently been winnable for Republicans and that's because of their unique history.

2
DonuteaterReturns 2 points ago +2 / -0

And 3rd generation cubans aren't much better than 50/50.

1
ThomasJ 1 point ago +2 / -1

Not really that helpful when literal states are turning purple because of the demographic changes, and these demographic changes aren't being opposed in the mainstream. It is just inevitable that America will be a non-white country

5

Until their kids get to be voting age and all the California transplants become a majority.

37
Here_we_go 37 points ago +37 / -0

But will they enforce it. We already have laws that were broken.

14
Beef_Vegan 14 points ago +14 / -0

Bingo. In America, when laws are broken we just write a fuck ton more laws. How many fucking laws do we need? What we really need is public hangings.

2
michaelconfoy 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is why its important that Patriots work the election. Yes they broke laws but it was brought up weeks later and they had more Democrat witnesses.

37
YourOwnGreatGrandma 37 points ago +46 / -9

Damn you mean that if we actually get involved in state politics we can secure elections? I was planning on spending the next 4 years REEEEing about muh rubicon.

9
MerlynTrump 9 points ago +10 / -1

kek.

3
MasksAreChildAbuse 3 points ago +6 / -3

I get it. But the dems already violated dozens if not hundreds of election laws in 2020. Laws only work in a society where the laws can be enforced.

Look im not complaining about any new voter integrity law itself. Im all for secure voter laws. But what happens when dems just illegal register 50,000 new people in Houston to vote within 24 hours anyways? What happens when the dems in Austin and Dallas and San Antonio just "accidentally" mail out ballots to every single person anyways in advance of an upcoming election? If you said "theyll get arrested now" or "the election will be corrected" why didnt they get arrested before? Why wasnt it corrected before?

  1. Laws mean nothing if they arent enforced.
  2. Laws mean nothing if when they are enforced there arent any significant or practical punitive measures for it.
  3. Laws mean nothing if a large number of people simply dont care about them (eg the millions of democrats literally dont care about voter laws because they know disregarding them helps their side).

My point is, yes we need these laws, but we also need people willing to "cross the rubicon" when there isnt enough political will to get it done.

2
RedditIs4Retards 2 points ago +5 / -3

More like now that they got their dem Biden in, they're gonna start pretending to care about voting integrity. Where was this before they stole the election using more fraud than ever before?

2
michaelconfoy 2 points ago +2 / -0

People here helped push this through with the help of many organizations focused on this issue.

0
jubyeonin 0 points ago +4 / -4

Huh? It doesn't matter if illegals are made citizens and get registered to vote in a very simple process. Texas keeps bringing in illegals and shipping them all over the country for when the time comes. We probably can't win the 2024 election and if we do, that's probably the last major one. The invasion is happening.

17
Datamancer 17 points ago +19 / -2

Wait, has Texas been shamed by Florida into becoming actually conservative? Maybe adding some cattle to the hat?

14
Fortress-Maximus 14 points ago +16 / -2

Abbott is scared of Matthew McConaughey. It's really as simple as that. The guy was a two faced liar as recently as 2 months ago. He was horrible during the phony pandemic.

-6
bahhumbugger -6 points ago +5 / -11

He should be, Matthew McConaughey is an American legend. His brand is impeccable and his speaking perfect.

That’s what wins these days, and it’s a real threat to a red Texas.

18
Cyer6 18 points ago +18 / -0

He's a Hollywood leftist trying to appeal to Texas conservatives. He recently did an interview and on video he is promoting the masks.

https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2021/05/28/matthew-mcconaughey-promotes-universal-masking-no-data-says-masks-are-harmful/

-3
fac1 -3 points ago +1 / -4

While that suggests he possibly sides with the left at times, it does not prove that he believes in leftist ideology.

5
DennJW 5 points ago +7 / -2

Yes, it does.

1
fac1 1 point ago +1 / -0

How? Couldn't he just be unaware of the evidence that masks can be harmful? Maybe he didn't have time to look into it? How does it show that he believes in core leftist ideology such as radical feminism, Marxism, etc?

0
DennJW 0 points ago +1 / -1

It's such an insane position, so obviously, plainly, and commonly known as such, that the only possible way any human being could hold such a position, is as a devotee to the churh of unreason.

What youre saying doesnt make sense. Beto almost won on an open borders anti gun pro abortion pro gov healthcare campaign IN TEXAS.

Obviously someone that acts less retarded will do much better. Did you not know how close the race was or what?

-2

Beto lost. You’re an angry Ron Paul retard. Leave. Go to Montana or something.

-1

I don't know what rock you've been under, but Americans (that includes Texans) are under the spell of slick marketing. Fame, name recognition, good looks, great camera presence and money is the Kool-Aid causing vast swaths of people to favor politicians and policies that are directly contradictional to their best benefit. MM is potentially a threat (if he actually runs) This Texan is not taking any chances. Time to play dirty and smear this guy - play by their rules.

12
Datamancer 12 points ago +15 / -3

Look at DeSantis and Abbott and tell me Abbott is more conservative? Look at the laws passed by the legislatures and tell me Texas is more conservative? And I say this as a Texan. Texas should be the thought leader on states rights, challenging federal overreach. Not exactly. From green energy leading to unnecessary deaths in a brief freeze to zero activity by the state to shut down illegal immigration, Texas is all hat and no cattle.

10
OneBigMaga 10 points ago +10 / -0

Texas with someone like DeSantis in charge would be awesome. Unfortunately we have a spineless governor who refuses to stand up for us.

(that line never gets old)

0
Bidens_leg_hair 0 points ago +0 / -0

DeSantis is more conservative but TX passed way more conservative laws this session and has better laws in general. Don’t forget FL almost elected the faggot cokehead for gov. TX will soon have constitutional carry, has a ban on red light cameras, has better weapons laws where you can pretty much carry anything, toughest abortion laws in country, ban on gender mutilation for minors, etc... and Abbot is signing everything that gets to his desk. FL has had one good gov for a few years, TX has been trending conservative for over 20 years and gets more conservative every legislative session.

1
Datamancer 1 point ago +1 / -0

I fully accept that the legislature has woken up. But given everything that has occurred in the last 2-3 years: Beto, the state lockdown, the NG troops to DC, the cow towing to the EPA, I will remain skeptical but hopeful until this behavior continues past and through election cycles.

We in Texas should be leading on state compacts for border control, leading on truly living up to the 10th amendment and rolling back federal overreach. We should be at the forefront of loosening our attachment and dependency on the federal government.

I will reiterate my initial comment, who the fuck on this site wants Matty? Not I, no Mattys, no Betos, no Cornyn, probably not any Cruzs.

-5
Bldg_2019 -5 points ago +3 / -8

Look at FL electing Obama twice, and damn near electing Gore. All in the last 20 years. You’re not a Texan either, liar.

8
Datamancer 8 points ago +8 / -0

Got here in 84 left in 88 for the Navy and came back. What makes me more of a Texan is the shame I feel for our lame ass governor. He is Ann Richards in a wheelchair. Lame ass RINO. Look at the that sorry excuse Cornyn who keeps getting reelected. Just keep watching your reruns of Dallas and telling yourself everything is fine.

How many states had constitutional carry before Texas? How many states outlawed CRT and Vax passports before Texas, how many states either didn't lock down or opened up quickly? When it comes to conservative thought leadership, Texas is a Johnny Come Lately. When Abbott puts the Texas State Guard on the border and deputizes them to enforce state immigration law and I might reconsider, until he does he is worthless.

As far as Elections are concerned? Do I need to mention LBJ? Do you need a recap of voter fraud? You think this only happened now?

-6
Bldg_2019 -6 points ago +3 / -9

“Got here”? Oh, so your loser parents moved to Texas from somewhere else. Nope, not a Texan.

3

3
gorillachannel 3 points ago +6 / -3

When you encounter facts that contradict your world view, you simply close your eyes and declare it isn't so. This is the subjectivist epistemology of the left.

I live in Texas. And lots of people who live in Texas recognize the fact that it is declining at roughly the same rate as all the leftist shitholes in this country. Close your eyes and pretend it isn't happening. See how that works out for you.

-1
Bldg_2019 -1 points ago +5 / -6

Heard that bullshit for decades. You’re not a native Texan, you just live here. Don’t like it? Leave. Actually, leave either way. Oklahoma is like 100% red. Have fun.

2
foundwipe 2 points ago +2 / -0

my personal comparison: FL’s living cost is actually higher though tax is lower. FL listings doesn’t contain lot, so the final price of a house is somehow higher. And one good governor doesn’t mean you have everything. FL failed to ban CRT in state legislature, also no constitutional carry law passed in FL.

5
realityczek 5 points ago +5 / -0

Look, I moved to TX deliberately in 2021 because I love this state... but let's not pretend Abbott has even half the spine and balls that DeSantis does.

Great news! But let's take some time to reflect on the fact of how shocking it is that a bill like this even needed to exist in the first place. This is clearly the result of years upon years of the destruction of our voting system. I can't believe we let it get that bad. It should really be one day, show up in person, show an ID to verify who the fuck you are, have results ready no later than midnight local time. 2
Cyer6 2 points ago +2 / -0

Not sure what that means exactly. I worked the TX polls this past special election and they had a portable curb-side voting machine that we could take out to cars but the voter still had to go through the same process of showing an ID card etc to cast a vote.

1
Aambrick 1 point ago +1 / -0

Semi-truck: Xer I got a delivery of paper ballots so where do I set them at.

Corrupt counter/person: Just go through that drive through towards the back dock.

Semi-truck: Isn't that a voting lane-

Corrupt counter/person: Nope. Just the only lane that can enter to the back docking area.

Joking aside the gist is pretty similar to this, but probably for vans instead.

1
mua741 1 point ago +1 / -0

It means you can't use that curb-side voting machine any more and they're acting like this improves election security (though as you note, the curbside was as secure as any other voting)

2
Tanmantime 2 points ago +2 / -0

As the media is calling it “voting restrictions bill”. They are so agenda driven and dishonest it’s amazing, they know they’re lying- I guess they figure the sheep will eat it up.

UpTrump 2 points ago +2 / -0

Great, now let's get this in purple states

2
rektsauce 2 points ago +2 / -0

Better happen in AZ, GA, WI, MI and PA too.

3
Casswick 3 points ago +3 / -0

It almost did in AZ until Ducey vetoed it.

Nomoralcompass89 2 points ago +2 / -0

OH too, we went red, and we may continue to stay red, but there was fuckery afoot. Trump won Ohio by more then 8 %. I would venture to guess in the 15 % range.

Don't forget CO, NH and NV

2

I love how they call it "voting restrictions."

Like, is every person they know a vegetable? "Oh no, I can't drop my mail in ballot three feet from my greasy couch and have some unknown Democrat operative grab it and put it in for me. Now I literally cannot vote at all. Nope. No siree. I mean, you'll never catch me missing Popeye's 99 cent chicken Tuesday but voting? Puh'leeze!"

OneBigMaga 2 points ago +3 / -1

You didn't even read the fucking article! It only passed the senate. There is a very real chance it will die in the house because "they didn't have time to get to it".

altaG12 5 points ago +5 / -0

As of 13 hours ago: House and Senate negotiators have reached a deal on competing versions of Senate Bill 7. Once both chambers sign off on the agreement, it will head to the governor’s desk before it becomes law.

I will be interested In seeing exactly what it omits when and if it actually becomes a law.

Bidens_leg_hair 1 point ago +1 / -0

The house is based. The senate are RINOs. If the senate passed it the house will. If it was the other way around I’d agree with you

If your country continues to treat it's people like subjects instead of citizens, it might be time for you to consider your own revolution.

If people can't get your order right working drive-thru then what makes you think they won't fuck up when you vote?

Sell Austin back to Mexico...

2
Fortress-Maximus 2 points ago +2 / -0

I live in Austin. It really is a cesspool for liberals. Just awful.

2
Cyer6 2 points ago +2 / -0

But they did pass the homeless camp ban by a margin of 70%. Something must be changing in Austin because that shocked me.

Texas, our Texas, all hail the mighty state.

Texas, our Texas, so wonderful so great!

2
MythArcana 2 points ago +2 / -0

Only real states are passing bills like this. It makes it a lot easier to figure out where to move to.

2

Gotta love it!

Giving more power to the courts only ends up benefitting the Democrat Party.

2
JohnCocktoastin 2 points ago +2 / -0

I haven't read the exact text of the bill, but from the description in the article, there could be some serious unintended consequences. If what they are saying is accurate, simply demonstrating enough fraudulent ballots allows the judicial invalidation of an election cuts both ways. If you are a democrat and you know you're going to get your ass kicked, simply make sure there are enough fake ballots to throw out the election. Now you've fucked the rightful winner. This is something I hope they have taken measures to prevent in the actual bill.

Dems walk, stop Texas GOP's sweeping voting restrictions

AUSTIN, Texas — (AP) — Texas Democrats pulled off a dramatic, last-ditch walkout in the state House of Representatives on Sunday night to block passage of one of the most restrictive voting bills in the U.S., leaving Republicans with no choice but to abandon a midnight deadline and declare the legislative session essentially over.

Is this actually signed into law, or did it just pass the house or the senate, because that means nothing out here. There are a lot of shit bag Republicans in Texas politics.

I can’t think of a reason they would ban 24 hour voting centers either.

The left is already saying it’s a direct assault on blacks since so many of them used them in 2020.

1
VirPopulus 1 point ago +1 / -0

Now let's see if they enforce it.

Lip-service until then.

Need to ban no excuse absentee voting all together. Absentee should only be used for the military and the disabled.
