We let our membership lapse when they got all mask Nazi during the covid hoax. Now they are acting like nothing happened.

Not falling for their shit. I think they lost a ton of business. Anyone else?

I'm in a shitty blue state where masks were mandatory, but costco went gung ho with masks. I was wearing my mask below my nose and some woman caught my eye as she was staring at me, I thought, do I know here? She then walks up to me and motions pulling up my mask and says so, I was flabbergasted as I didn't understand her thru her stupid mask, then it dawned on me... I told to "mind her own damned business!" To which she says, "I work here" and brandished her vest in her hand. So I told her, "then mind your business and get to work!" So she took off in a huff. I was expecting to be kicked out....

Then I bought one of the faux masks that you can see thru and easily breathe thru and wore that everywhere. No problems anywhere else with it, It caught the notice of a few Karens but they didn't have to balls to say anything to me personally. One of the last times I went to costco with it I went thru the main entrance where they check your card, my wife was following ten feet behind and she said that a Karen manager bitched out the lady on the front door because she let a guy thru with a fake mask (me). But nothing was said to me and I went about my business.

It was getting too pricey for our budget, especially with just two people. The mask crap just made the decision even easier.

Last time I went was months ago for a TV. I have asthma, and just flash my inhaler when the entrance lady asked about not having a mask. I was buying a big TV so my Jamaican budy came to help. She asked about him, and I said "he doesn't have to wear one, he's black". It was priceless, she just stood their shocked and said nothing.

They will become obsolete when people realize they are not that great of a deal. For over 100 bucks you get to stand in long lines, parking is horrendous and keep on eye on the quantity and weight of each product. They are screwing you and you don't even realize it.

I stopped shopping at all the membership club stores

They’re not going to treat me like a criminal by checking my receipt after I just paid for my groceries.

Why people tolerate that is beyond me.

I won’t put up with that shit anywhere else. At Walmart or Best Buy, I’ll just walk past the guy. In the case of Costco/Sam’s, it’s in the terms of the membership agreement.

I agree. It is in the agreement. That is why I don’t have a membership.

I used to have a similar mentality but... I think that receipt checking is more about employee theft and/or making sure nothing was missed more than anything. My last trip there they forgot to ring up an item and pulled me off to the side to ring it up. Stupid but it's how they keep prices "low".

XIX-LXXX-IV 4 points ago +4 / -0

I do not care.

If you have proof that I stole something then arrest me, otherwise get the F*** out of my way.

Walmart tries to look at my receipts and I just keep walking. Sometimes I will ask them if they have a search warrant. They don’t say anything else after that.

BTW, what does my receipt have to do with employee theft?

You seem to be a bit small brain and also a bit narrow-minded. Would you prefer the alternative where they have security cameras over every single aisle and a bunch of people just watching you?

The scenario is this : employee friend comes in gets a cart load of stuff worth a hundred bucks and slides a $300 item in there and doesn't ring them up but they slide the security tape so it doesn't go off and walk out the door.

The other scenario like I already stated is the teller goes through 300 customers they're bound to miss an item or two as they ring someone up and it just goes right out the door if no one's checking.

If you have a problem with that you're picking the wrong fights and worrying about the wrong things it's a perfectly legitimate thing for them to be doing.

I guess YOUR small brain missed the part where I said that I DO NOT have a membership.

Does that matter to this discussion? If it did, why did you interject yourself in the first place? Fucking retard.

Silo101 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thats not how they keep the prices low. They buy huge lots of stuff for cheap and sell it as fast as possible.

dirtymikeandthebois 0 points ago +1 / -1

Yes they do it multiple ways.

There are millions of people who gladly pay that fee just to keep from being seen at Wal Mart. Of course they are ridiculous, and it is stupid (among other things that it is), but it is also true.

Trust me. I worked with the buyers a few times at Costco . They used to have great negotiating skills. Now? Not so much. I can get the same deals on Amazon or Safeway. Sometimes 5% more, sometimes 5% less.

sorry - i'm not boycotting b/c they tried to follow local asshole politicians so they could stay open - can't blame them for that.

They were first to do it, they had mask mandates before anyone else and required anyone with a medical exemption to wear a face shield. They coulda been like Walmart and went a little easier on it.

ObamasLooseButthole 5 points ago +5 / -0

been like Walmart and went a little easier on it.

I gotta give it to Walmart. They have the people at the door telling you that you need a mask but you can just walk past them and no one will say anything. Barely anyone has worn a mask in there this whole time, at least at the one close to me.

My mother and I used to go once every couple months and spend at least $100 each every time, we haven't been back since the mask Nazism.

warhammr02 1 point ago +1 / -0

We call them communist-co, and no, haven't been there in over a year. FYI, if you still have a membership, you can cancel it and ask for a full refund, even if your card expires tomorrow.

I'd be pissed like you too if I didn't have enough money to shop at places like Costco. That being said - your initial point is correct.
