Trump could have invoked the Insurrection Act. It's essentially what Biden and the left did to Trump - called out the military, tried Trump for insurrection. The insurrectionists did to Trump what he wouldn't do to them because of muh optics.

Mike Pompeo couldn’t hold the joint chiefs together. Trump had lost military command. This was a contingency but it never became an option.

Oddly, it's never an option for conservatives to use the law to stop criminals. However, it is an option for the criminals to use the law to attack conservatives.
