It's weird that so few people do this.

Yeah. People have no idea how bad it looks when they drift off on their phones in a meeting. My boss does it all the time - one of his worst habits (he's a pretty good boss otherwise).

Not even just that. If I’m out with a girl and she’s on her phone for more than 2 seconds without a comment like “I’m sorry this is an emergency” or some viable explanation, I just leave.

I literally cut my best friend from high school off completely because he literally couldn’t last a second without his phone. I took this kid snowboarding in Colorado and this faggot was texting on the slopes. Or we’d be driving thru the mountains and he completely missed the scenery in favor of iPhone pixels.

Holy shit, I'd understand it if you both were just relaxing in the living room or on the porch in companionable silence. But during actual activities?! The dude must have been insane!

He was insane. He’s one of those guys that would drool over any girl that mildly gave him any attention at all. His dad was military and he moved from my home state to Virginia about halfway thru high school. But while he was still here I had introduced him to one of my best girl friends I’ve known since birth. It took 2 seconds before he developed a liking to her. Anyways, I used to go visit him in DC every year til we graduated for a couple weeks. One time this clown invited her at the same time as me and he literally spent the entire time with her while I played Xbox in the basement til she left. Even his parents came down and apologized to me. So she left a week before I did right and I was like “bet, now we can do shit. He had his fun”. Boy was I wrong! Hopped on the metro to DC and I honestly don’t know how the kids phone battery made it thru the day…. Literally glued to his phone texting her to the point I had to text her to tell her to quit it so I could spend what little time I had with him. Just pissed me off and made him anxious the rest of the time. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. The girl he was texting in Colorado was his fiancé. The first and only girl he ever fucked. Which is cool if that was your intention like Steven crowder, but that def wasn’t his goal. She wasn’t a bad girl either and we got along, but they definitely brought out the worst in each other. She was a smart cookie and kinda a go-getter. And he dropped out of the ROTC program his dad pulled strings for him to get in order to smoke weed all day, then eventually failed out of his major and got one chance to take a test to get back in, which he got high and forgot about and now he’s permanently kicked out of college with a 70K dollar debt to the school and the ROTC program. That was when I fucking had it. I worked my ass off to get that ROTC program and they denied me but let him in cause of his dad and he threw it away to smoke weed…. The last I ever heard from him (or rather her. This is pathetic too) was getting an invite to their wedding. Which she wrote out because he couldn’t be bothered invited his own best man to the wedding. (Yes he asked me to be his best man which was funny cause he couldn’t be bothered to talk to me any other time)

Oh and I remember this thing he said to me which made me instantly lose what little amount of respect I had left for him:

“I’d love to be a stay at home husband and she can work and bring money and I’ll just stay home and clean and cook for us”

I took one look around his piece of shit apartment and was like “you do that now and literally every single dish you own is in the sink and this place hasn’t been vacuumed in months… you absolute lazy piece of shit” all he did was drive for Uber a couple nights a week and play Xbox last I heard from him. And we were like 26 years old at the time. I had already been working in my professional career for 4 years at that point and he couldn’t find anything better than Uber.

No idea what he’s up to now though ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It's terrible. I have a flip phone. I don't want any part of that.
