He’s a comedian extraordinaire, but the logic here is sound. You shouldn’t be proud of degenerate behavior.

Pride itself is a sin, but to be proud of a grave sin is even worse.

And to use a symbol of God's promise to us, as your symbol of your hedonism and wicked behavior...

As a straight man, I have never understood the "appeal" of anal sex. Don't get me wrong, I think every guy likes a nice ass. But I have never wanted to stick my dick on one. Because that's where shit comes from. And that's just inherently disgusting.

Vaginas were literally designed for sexual pleasure for both men and women. Like...it's their biological function.

Almost like using God's promise against Him. "See God! Shouldn't have made that promise - look at this depravity! Even we think we should be nuked! But you can't do it because - you promised!"

I'd forgive Him on this one, really.

Covid clearly over. We weren't allowed to have this much fun last year.

I know tons of us pedes are religious, but I always try to argue against the LGBTXYZ+=£€%# agenda secularly.

There’s tons of reasons to fight against their agenda, with plenty of material to back us up without bringing God into the argument. Simply saying “God says it’s bad” doesn’t win arguments with people that don’t believe in God.

becray3point0 9 points ago +10 / -1

The fact that it triggers tells you it's a win because if it triggers, they feel convicted. That conviction could lead to being saved through the blood of Jesus. All you have to do is believe in Jesus as your savior.

I agree. My argument is that most of us are libertarian enough to not care what you do in your bedroom. We take issue with what is brought into our kids classrooms, ( and our TVs).

For example, wr don’t object to a fourth grade teacher who likes to smoke cigarettes or have a whiskey. But we don’t believe she should allowed have them or advocate them in the classroom.

7
thisguy883 7 points ago +8 / -1

This.

I never use to care what you did in the privacy of your own home, but now gays are essentially shouting what they do to the world every June and I'm fucking sick of it.

Either be gay in private and enjoy life, or fucking stand in line for the rope, because its coming. The only downside is that it isnt coming fast enough.

This is why libertarians will always lose. Depravity never stays in the bed room.

6
MauserShooter 6 points ago +7 / -1

That’s actually why we are using. To pretend that their is even such a thing as secular is to lose the argument immediately.

Just call it a sin, they know it. They are only suppressing the truth, see romans 1.

5
MerlynTrump 5 points ago +6 / -1

I get your point. But most people do believe in God. I guess it's important to tailor your argument to your audience. Citing scripture won't work on an atheist, but it could work on a Christian.

6
I_have_lady_parts 6 points ago +7 / -1

Yeah but ripping and tearing and intestines falling outta your ass is scarier to athiests... i would imagine.

4
thisguy883 4 points ago +4 / -0

But the ones we are arguing with most likely arent Christians at all.

Less pride more humility

TheOutlawPepeWales 10 points ago +10 / -0

Less lust and more chastity. It doesn't matter if you're gay or straight, nobody should be flaunting their sex life in public. Especially around little kids. Secular humanists will say they don't need God to be moral people, but looking around it's pretty obvious that they do. Without that guiding star, principled framework, and sense of reverence for all the things that He has made (especially the temple of your body) society devolves into a hedonistic cesspit where the only standard of behavior is "do whatever feels good". As a recovering alcoholic I can assure you that's no path to a happy and healthy life, or a stable and virtuous society. Indulging in unholy temporary pleasures for their own sake doesn't create anything that lasts. Nobody has to believe my words, the last ten thousand years of human history provide plenty of hard evidence of what happens to cultures that no longer value anything except fulfilling their beastly desires. I'm sure that's exactly what the enemies of America would like to see happen, but we have to be better than that. There's too much at stake to allow this fall from glory.

Lust is a sin too but I’ve never seen anyone here have a problem with the excessively sexual and explicit comments about hot women. If people truly cared about sin, they wouldn’t only bring it up when it’s useful as a weapon against people they dislike while giving themselves and others a free pass.

That's not really what he's saying, he's simply saying being homosexual is not an accomplishment and therefore shouldn't be a source of celebration.

10
Akula69 10 points ago +11 / -1

Exactly. Could you imagine having a "green eye pride month"? Or how about "I am proud of my IBS positive son" which is a stretch, because you actually have to watch what you eat? It just doesn't make sense. It also gives weak people an out to be an underachiever yet celebrated.

6
newrandomperson 6 points ago +6 / -0

Maybe a pride month about having white skin even?

3
BPasFuck 3 points ago +4 / -1

Spicy

5
pelosis_liver 5 points ago +6 / -1

Your IBS example is already happening with other diagnoses. And I always thought it was odd. We as a society used to have a pretty good handle on what was considered private.

2
I_have_lady_parts 2 points ago +3 / -1

That exists for redheads tbh

7
Dunkin4COVAIDS 7 points ago +9 / -2

And it's not just about being homosexual, it's the same with having pride in one's skin color, nationality, and so on. Pride in something you never worked for or achieved is hollow sinful pride.

6
TheOutlawPepeWales 6 points ago +6 / -0

I don't know about you but I've been busting my balls for my nationality. Keeping a country intact and on a righteous road is no easy task.

5
FireannDireach 5 points ago +6 / -1

I don't even mind pride, as I can see the others sides argument that they're proud to be openly gay, and not in the closet.

Wait, that's not what it's all about. My bad. "Pride' in SF is men in leather and bondage gear getting blowjobs in the street in front of children. Google "Folsom Street Fair" if you have a strong stomach.

If two men want to be in a long term, loving relationship and not wear their sexuality on their sleeve and aren't political, I have no issues with you at all. But "Pride" these days is a freak show of deviance and fetish and hedonism. I know the gay community isn't all about that, but the minority in that community and the media are pushing hard to make it seem like it.

Besides, 'I'm proud of my gay son" is some of the older virtue signaling going on, it's about the father, not the gay son. It's about the father bending a knee to his political gay son's agenda, participating in a public display. You don't need a reason to be proud of your son, if you raised him right.

If you think about what he targets in the context of his thinking revealed in podcasts and interviews, I really think he thinks of homosexuality as “sinful”.

Norm is the only True Comedian. He dedicated his life to being only a Comedian and no one is better and no one can compare.

3
d_bokk 3 points ago +3 / -0

His "talkshow" on Netflix is really good.

4
AmericaFloats 4 points ago +4 / -0

Norm is the best comedian of all time, because he puts you on HIS side first, and then makes you laugh at the preposterous reality we live in.

He doesn't tell real stories. He tells fake truthisms. Read his memoir, it's a complete fiction and it's all true.

Iranhasnukes 3 points ago +5 / -2

Maybe just, he’s my son. And he’s gay.

Leave it there
