I'd be fucked, I can't hit shit with iron sights. My husband is a great shot with or without a scope though so I'll just hide behind him and reload magazines.

That's rather Revolutionary War-ish.

I like it.

We all gotta play to our strengths!

If you are near sighted, take your glasses off for iron sights and let the pinhole correct your vision. And always remember, clear tip, blurry target.

Passive optics are good too.

Always sight irons first!

I’m pretty sure it’s a law in most states.

Dmajallen 13 points ago +13 / -0

can't deactivate a scope... non illuminated variety... iron sights easy, aim small hit small...

emp?

2
acasper 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes an EMP or NEMP would both do it.

I'm that one guy I guess. I use iron sights.

4
MastaJoda 4 points ago +4 / -0

It’s really my preferred method within 400 yds.

5
Original_Dankster 5 points ago +5 / -0

Noooo not my holosun!

I love the ring reticle, and can't use eotechs due to astigmatism.

7
sebster [S] 7 points ago +8 / -1

Then just buy the fake holosuns from aliexpress, they don't have the 5G deactivation chip. Trust me i know what i'm talking about

5
MastaJoda 5 points ago +5 / -0

Give me my snorkel an avocado and an ice pick. Trust me. I’ve made bongs with less.

2
Original_Dankster 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's nuts. If true though it's also brilliant on their part.

Do Sig Sauer red dots have this thing?

Save for ACOG. Worth it.

Original_Dankster 1 point ago +1 / -0

ACOG

Hmm. Not a fan of fixed magnification and the eye relief is really close and a narrow eye box. I'm used to shooting both eyes open, and prefer no magnification. My girlfriend has a 3.5x ACOG and it's good - has a great field of view, clear glass and intuitive reticle. But I don't like having to use the magnification, and it's really unforgiving about head placement. Maybe with a 45° reflex red dot it would work better for me.

I also love the LPVOs that can do as close to true 1x as possible. Really dig the 1-6x Trijicon accupoints, wish they made them in first focal plane

1A2A 1 point ago +2 / -1

I went 3x and love it. Heavily considered the VCOG (not actually much heavier than competitors considering the quoted weight includes base) but will save that for my .308.

I have no trouble up close to a couple hundred meters, just took some getting used to.

Is this 5.56 you’re shooting? What are you considering? Astigmatism really sucks, I’d love an EO for my HD rifle.

Got a holosun 515 on a short barrel 590A1 shotgun (circle matches the 00 buck spread well), a 512 on a Kriss Vector 9mm SBR and 507s on a couple pistols.

Using Primary Arms 1-6x LPVOs on a Ruger American Ranch bolt action in .223. I'm in Canada, so while we can have short barrels (if they're registered), ARs were recently banned. I'd love to get an a accupoint for the ranch, and for a compact .308 bolt gun too one day. But open to other LPVO options

Very cool. Miss my 590A1.

Can't stand that clown but he is drinking my beer, the National Beer of Texas.

He's great in the show. True detectives season 1.

2
Captain_MAGA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Season 2 sucked. Season 3 was a return to form even if they started pushing "muh racism" pretty hard.

1
1A2A 1 point ago +2 / -1

What new show doesn’t? I’m an old man already and I’ve hopefully got a good 60 years to go, fuck.

4
Graey 4 points ago +4 / -0

But...I REMOVED my iron sights...

to install on my second Covid-era rifle

Hoonsolo 3 points ago +3 / -0

Lol cowitness your red dot with iron sight, problem solved

dixond 1 point ago +1 / -0

Ghost ring peephole...

1
LoneStarDangler 1 point ago +1 / -0

And lose like half the benefit of a red dot?

3
SnowApe 3 points ago +3 / -0

Etched reticle with 45-degree-offset iron backups = winning.

You just made my day! I’m an iron sight kinda guy.

2
vongregormench 2 points ago +2 / -0

Just buy two guns. You can only shoot one at a time anyway.

4
ObamasLooseButthole 4 points ago +4 / -0

If you're only shooting one at a time then you're not trying hard enough.

Season 1 is one of the best ever TV.

"Its my day off, and on my day off I drink."

1
TheFountainhead 1 point ago +1 / -0

That’s why you keep your fuckin guns in a nice metal gun safe so it’s in a faraday cage and EMP resistant.

2
Tazchaz 2 points ago +2 / -0

Not really, a true faraday cage has complete metal to metal seams. A safe is painted and has a gasket, thus no metal to metal coverage on the front of the safe. When I was a young airman back in the 70s we used to have to check the emergency radios in a screen room which was a 10'X10' faraday cage. We somehow or other got a small tear in the screening and were broadcasting on 243Mhz, guard frequency. Freaked the tower out real good.

1
TheFountainhead 1 point ago +1 / -0

interesting... The question i now have is to what level does it reduce the EMP if at all? i mean there is EM flowing through the air all the time, there is some level of resistance to electronics. What is the threshold of damage and does an imperfect F cage get you under the threshold?

Fuck.... I need a way to generate EMP and test it...

Angled/offset irons ftw. Just turn and go.
