This doesn't seem that good. The way I read it, the Indian government wants to be the one determining what can be posted on Twitter instead of Twitter. I don't trust either.

i had the same read- if the executive gets hauled in for "inflammatory content" posted on their site, how does that help free speech.

Basically it's going to force them to pull out of India, which is going to hit their wallet in a way that will probably cause investors to flee like rats from a burning ship.

It's very bad for free speech, but it's also hilariously poetic that the censor happy Cali-commie latte libs are about to get caught in their own trap by one of the largest online markets on Earth playing the game better than they can.

I hate that other countries have to kick twitter's/Jack's ass and our leaders are being such pussies.

I think overall this is good, twitter will die the more this happens. The more they censor, and governments overtly get involved. People will find work arounds to not use the platform. Hopefully workarounds that don't require centralization of the data and make it hard to track people.

I never used it, but I can see why people used to. I deleted Facebook a long time ago and I don’t miss it a bit. Too many good news sources out there to have to use it.

I wish America would kick Twitter out of the U.S., along with facebook and the UN. Probably the State Department as well.

Great news everybody! or is it the article could be in favor of Twitter and wording the article as to say Indian government now has control, however with out the legal documentation and such transcribed and in regular speak not lawyer speak we might not understand the whole grasp of this.
