Oh look, the Canadian government gas lighting their people.

Study shows wrapping a plastic bag around your head may sound like a bad idea, but here is why its really good for you.

And people really believe this shit.

BirchTBarlow 49 points ago +49 / -0

Wrapping a plastic bag around your head is an effective way to reduce your inhalation of potentially contaminated air.

Chopblock 18 points ago +18 / -0

Labs are in:

“The analysis detected the following 11 alarmingly dangerous pathogens on the masks:

• Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumonia)

• Mycobacterium tuberculosis (tuberculosis)

• Neisseria meningitidis (meningitis, sepsis)

• Acanthamoeba polyphaga (keratitis and granulomatous amebic encephalitis)

• Acinetobacter baumanni (pneumonia, blood stream infections, meningitis, UTIs— resistant to antibiotics)

• Escherichia coli (food poisoning)

• Borrelia burgdorferi (causes Lyme disease)

• Corynebacterium diphtheriae (diphtheria)

• Legionella pneumophila (Legionnaires’ disease)

• Staphylococcus pyogenes serotype M3 (severe infections—high morbidity rates)

• Staphylococcus aureus (meningitis, sepsis)

Half of the masks were contaminated with one or more strains of pneumonia-causing bacteria.

One-third were contaminated with one or more strains of meningitis-causing bacteria.

One-third were contaminated with dangerous, antibiotic-resistant bacterial pathogens. In addition, less dangerous pathogens were identified, including pathogens that can cause fever, ulcers, acne, yeast infections, strep throat, periodontal disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and more

...The face masks studied were new or freshly-laundered before wearing and had been worn for 5 to 8 hours, most during in-person schooling by children aged 6 through 11.”

As a control, a child’s worn t-shirt and unworn masks were tested. “No pathogens were found on the controls.”

Hdhehehehejdnbeeh 8 points ago +8 / -0

There's three kinds of Lies. Lies. Damned lies. And statistics

You can make a poll sound or say whatever you want. They released these fake studies all the time. They released fake studies saying that there was no censorship even though the number is clearly show that there was. They release fake studies about everything..

You just have these liberal organizations that cherry pick numbers or just [outright make them up at times] (https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/the-adl-murder-and-extremism-report-is-a-fraud/) and then create a fake study to push what they already wanted people to believe

Really the worst part is how you don't do the same thing. Right wing organizations to easily make a fake study for everything they want.

Many common sense and much scientific sources on masks:

Easy to say... hard to do when everyone, even Canadians on this site, refuses to change anything. I am only one vote and one voice. I do my part but it seems like a losing battle lately.

"It's good for your immune system"

That's a way of saying it's actually a wet moist environment full of bacteria. It's like sneezing on someone and telling them not to get mad because it's good for their immune system.

I'm all for people not being pussy bitches and letting their immune system do a lot of its job, but there's better ways to strengthen your immune system than wearing a dirty face diaper on your face

Miztivin 10 points ago +10 / -0

Or they could just, idk, expose themselves to the environment around them to boost their immune systems. Lol

waxonwaxoff87 2 points ago +2 / -0

Let kids play with other kids. They get as much exposure as reaching into a box of used needles. This is a solution looking for a problem. Classic government.

RedditStillSucks 8 points ago +8 / -0

Having water in your lungs is how you know the mask is working!

soundlesssteps -1 points ago +22 / -23

There's likely only one good time to wear a mask. I was sick a couple months back (not covid), which left me with a sore throat lasting a month. Wearing a mask was like having the effects of a cough drop without having to eat one of those disgusting things every hour.

Before then, I tried using masks to block pollen. Didn't work. Related fact, pollen is like football stadium big compared to covid, if it were a golf ball.

ArtistWarrior 30 points ago +30 / -0

Fren, do not start this shit. Do not.

You poisoned yourself breathing CO2, bacteria, and fungus.

You would rather muzzle yourself than find a lozenge that works?

You realize our overlords want to do this to all of us, AND YOU MAKE IT WORSE BECAUSE YOU THINK IT'S JUST FUCKING FINE.

deleted 7 points ago +7 / -0
DebbieinDallas 4 points ago +4 / -0

You had a sore throat that lasted a month and you wore a mask the whole time and now you praise the mask when instead you should be cursing it as it permitted your sore throat to last so long. What kind of an idiot are you? You like not getting a full lungful of freshair?

Your thinking is the same as covidiots saying “I was healthy before I got the vax but now I got blood clots and thank goodness because now I know the vax is working.”

michelleobama22 -4 points ago +3 / -7

hm, i liked a surgical mask vs pollen

masks are dumb as shit tho

basedbusdriver 77 points ago +77 / -0

Pure bullshit. I had to wear the face diaper for extended period of time while exerting myself at work. Next day I got a "rash" around my mouth and chin and that entire day into the the next I had brain fog with some minor upper respiratory issues.

Everyone that disagrees is a racist bigot who must be mocked, attacked, dand ostracized.

PMSocks 6 points ago +7 / -1

Problem is in Canada 85% are pro vax.

The brainwashing has been effective up here ... I don't even argue ... I just hope that a super covid dangerous only to the spike invested comes.

People have been insufferable cunts and the fewer of them the better.

belil569 4 points ago +4 / -0

Not even close to 85 percent. They are struggling to get above 60 for first shots. To the point of having a 3million dollor lottery for those that poison themselves.

PMSocks 1 point ago +2 / -1

In CANADA. They just did a poll and I can tell you where I am its way above 60% vaxxed.

belil569 2 points ago +2 / -0

Which province? We just hit 60% a couple days ago here.

whatlike_withacloth 5 points ago +5 / -0

Communists had Trofim Lysenko and "Lysenkoism" (SO anti-science it literally killed people through famine).

We get Anthony Fauci and "Faucism." Let his name be just as mocked and sullied as Lysenko.

MICHIGANisRED 23 points ago +23 / -0

I have to wear one at work, doing industrial maintenance. I poke small holes in mine with a pick to try to get some air for the same reasons. I physically can't breathe, I can't think straight, it makes me irritable, and sometimes congestion in my sinuses. I hate this shit. Looking for a new job.

NC_patriot 8 points ago +8 / -0

I was working a part-time job for a few months where I had to wear one. My nose literally ran all day.

USAF4Trump 5 points ago +5 / -0

That happened to me too. My nose would get runny all of a sudden. That must have meant it was working!

NC_patriot 4 points ago +4 / -0

Exactly. Nose running all day means it's working!

michelleobama22 4 points ago +5 / -1

so take it off

nankingRoastie 11 points ago +11 / -0

Google "carbon dioxide increases oxygen uptake in blood" From James Nestor Book Breath

He did this before the virus hit so..

Breathing is actually extremely important.

I believe personally that its also important for spine health.

Consider the following. Short shallow breaths allow spinal compression over the day as your abdomen is deflated.

Large deep breaths would push everythign above the abdomen upward.

Short shallow breatsh are often seen with sitting workers and people who have spinal injuries.

waxonwaxoff87 2 points ago +2 / -0

Slouching, supine position, squatting, and obesity increase intra abdominal pressure and thus restrict movement of the diaphragm/increase intra thoracic pressure. This leads to atelectasis which is the closure of alveoli and reversible loss of total lung volume. It’s more these things lead to shallow breathing in your last example.

Normal relaxed/slow deep breathing is constriction of the diaphragm and the intercostals between your ribs creating negative pressure and the passive movement of air into the chest. It’s the mobility of the ribs that allow our chest to expand as the spine is supporting your upper body weight and is relatively “rigid” as far as it’s motion during breathing. The pressure in your chest is relatively negligible to the force of your upper body pushing down on your spine. This is a good thing that you don’t have to exert enough pressure to overcome the forces on your spine or you would have to expend considerable effort just to breath.

Our spine does stretch at night as it is no longer being compressed while you sleep and the natural elasticity of the discs will cause them to expand. This gain of space is transient though as this gain in height is quickly lost once you stand up, reload your spine, and go about your day.

Accessory and back muscles are involved more when people are in respiratory distress. This involves strong contraction of neck, back, and shoulder muscles which cause the spine to arch back and forward. The spine will be stretched anteriorly and relaxed posteriorly so this would increase the stress on the discs as it alternates.

michelleobama22 -2 points ago +3 / -5

med student here, sorry theres no correlation to spines

maybe posture but a direct effect? ehhhhh cant say so

nankingRoastie 5 points ago +5 / -0

People who do yoga have marked lack of disc compression compared to controls. Part of yoga is deep breathing.

Basic physics says that when you expand a ballon, the exterior stretches.

waxonwaxoff87 2 points ago +2 / -0

It helps with posture because yoga builds core strength and the muscles that support your spine. It’s not the breathing as the breathing is like any exercise you can’t maintain a position while depriving the muscles. People have poor spine health because they have imbalances in muscle strength or poor strength. Part of the job of muscles is to support joints and thus prevent injury and degeneration.

Ask someone with a bad back the last time they did a good psoas or erector spinae work out.

deleted 0 points ago +2 / -2
nankingRoastie 5 points ago +5 / -0

You've useda strawman. I never siad bones stretch. It isnt bone stretching that causes disc compression. Its loss of the gap.

What counteracts gap loss. Stretch.

michelleobama22 -4 points ago +1 / -5

ok you lost, bye

FuckYourBullshit 2 points ago +3 / -1

Hey fuckhead, if you're so smart, tell me how our bodies move. Because it sure as shit isn't us stretching out bones, but we can definitely stretch our muscles. So maybe if you weren't larping as a med student you'd remember that your rib cage expands when you take a breath and that a deep breath will expand your lungs enough to raise your torso.

Can't believe we let morons like this person on the site, all it does is drag down the collective IQ

Chopblock 2 points ago +3 / -1

He’s a medical student, bigot! When they gave him that white coat he knew that he had reached the point his parents were talking about back when he was a kid, all those times they said “one day you’ll know everything but for now put your pants on starting on the other end!

Having just spent $100,000 for a year of ‘how to dress professionally’, ‘what’s an appropriate Facebook post’, and ‘reflecting inclusivity in your CV’ classes, now he knows he knows, and it’s the team’s consensus, and hospital policy, too!

The only thing he doesn’t know is why some xirs have XY chromosomes, while other xirs have XX chromosomes — for some reason none of the vaunted minds surrounding the ivory tower halls will discuss this medical mystery.

michelleobama22 -5 points ago +1 / -6

FuckYourBullshit 3 points ago +3 / -0

No you won't. Fuck off. Take your concern trolling back to facebook. You aren't wanted here.

belil569 1 point ago +2 / -1

Lots of people here don't understand correlation and causation

michelleobama22 0 points ago +1 / -1

thank you

waxonwaxoff87 1 point ago +1 / -0

Doctor here. It’s yes and no. Yoga builds core and back strength which most people with bad backs lack or have a mismatch like a dude that does all chest but no back and shoulders. Breathing is to supply the muscles as yoga can be strenuous depending on the position and it requires effort to hold it for prolonged periods. Do a plank and see how long you can do it if you hold your breath. It won’t be for very long. Breathing also gives people something to focus on which can distract from exertion or outside thoughts. That’s more meditative and not related to the muscle benefits.

michelleobama22 1 point ago +1 / -0

thank you herr doktor

Similar to post-exercise pain after unaccustomed exertion, that's just weakness leaving the body.

The more you do it, the better-for-you it gets!

This is also why wearing multiple masks is so great.

BreadPitt 55 points ago +55 / -0

Rofl first question I asked myself "who did this study?" Answer: NIH hahahahahahahahahahaha fuck you fauci

ThoughtCrimeConvict 27 points ago +27 / -0

And it's a complete dog shit study. It doesn't show that re-inhaling your humid air boosts the immune system, IT ASSUMES IT DOES. The only thing the study shows is that the air in your mask is more humid than outside your mask. DUH!

Chopblock 6 points ago +6 / -0

Every pro-mask study and ‘recommendation supporting evidence’ uses this technique to support its key claims, often resting on studies that rest on studies 2 deep, that assume the consequent or use a model invented almost entirely out of whole cloth.

M3CJC 33 points ago +33 / -0

Mask were “implemented” to increase the spread, change my mind

PMSocks 9 points ago +11 / -2

Partially. Stats are tracked around PIC. Pneumonia, influenza and Covid.

Masks help get you #1 and increase #2. Minor difference on #3.

Our ICU bed count stats were of COVID related symptoms

Such bullshit

FuckYourBullshit 7 points ago +7 / -0

The PIC stats were made up because people noticed that that Flu and Pneumonia cases in the first half of 2020 were all but gone to the point where we had 6 cases of the Flu for an entire month when the previous year was 60,000. The CDC decided that they couldn't let people see that because they would start asking questions so they dropped Pneumonia and Influenza and even separate Covid tracking so that they can lump them all together to hide the numbers, because any sudden increase would allow them to say it was any one of the illnesses without having to back it up with proof.

Another “study” where a grain of truth is exaggerated and "re-imagined” as a benefit. Having kids play outside explodes them to more and ensures they develop antibodies and resistance...and it’s great, to a point...exposing people to a virus or allergen can improve their resistance. Too much could kill them.
