Wrong. The "hack" was just a bs excuse for the hyper-inflation money printing causes.

16
jdog 16 points ago +16 / -0

Why else would Biden give a list of things not to hack? It's to make it look more like Russia is to blame for these hacks when they didn't really do it. That's it. His handlers would be complete dumbasses if they gave Putin that info and they really believed Russia was responsible for those hacks.

12
patriotswinning 12 points ago +12 / -0

Ding. Ding. Ding. We have the truth here. I would have love to hear Putin say to Biden during their meeting "Joe, are the Russian hackers in the room with us right now? Can you see them?"

Ok you said it much better.

The hack was fake, the pipeline has manual controls that act as a failover. Same for the meat industry. The Biden campaign is trying to throw us into a war so they can suspend elections forever

XCorneliusX 28 points ago +28 / -0

It is how the corrupt system works.

Create a chaos event, increase price a lot over weeks

Takes 26 days to firmly form a habit

Resolve chaos event

Lower price a small amount to appear things are okay.

It's how they did it last time and when they institute gas taxes. People get used to being fucked over very quickly

They started and will continue to go up due to the Keystone pipeline being shut down, as well as others.

2
anotherthing 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's not just the pipeline. Biden also stopped exploration and extraction for/of oil on Federal lands, so that price is going to just keep going up.

It's been $2.79 where I live for a month now and hasn't moved at all.

8
Grunt422 8 points ago +8 / -0

At $2.75 now, and it's come down 10 cents the last couple weeks, but then summer is here so up it will go again. But Biden just gave Putin a list of the best places to hack in the US.

4
Nunyo 4 points ago +4 / -0

Upwards of $4 in Commiefornia. And there is a new gas tax coming july 1st.

1
RegularAmerican 1 point ago +2 / -1

Tax hike on guns and ammo too it's out of control

4
War_Hamster 4 points ago +4 / -0

I might drive there to fill up my tank.

2
MAGAhhh_igetit 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yep. $2.99 for me and it hasn't moved a penny since the day after the "hack." When has gas $ not changed on the daily?

1
Husky 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's how it was in Florida, but we declared an emergency because of it, gas can't go up during emergency.

1
masticator_nord 1 point ago +1 / -0

Where I'm at it was in the $2.40 range pre-hack, jumped to $2.79 after the hack, and now is around $2.50.

8
Spez_Isacuck 8 points ago +8 / -0

Because the hack is still occupying the White House.

Gas prices by me have actually continually gone down since then. It is currently at about $2.56. We never got near $3

3
ObamasLooseButthole 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's been at $3 since it happened. Hasn't gone down a cent.

5

It's weird around here in blueville, the shitstain of The United States. You go across the state line a few miles and gasoline is $1/gallon cheaper.

1
cook_does 1 point ago +1 / -0

Lol, lumber be like 👀

1
Chosimbaone 1 point ago +1 / -0

The comments here are broadly correct. The mechanism is more about how oil is sold. Companies buy "futures" that are essentially pre ordering the product. With us having to import oil, plus the lack of confidence from the back and pipeline shutdown, plus the inflation issue, the producers are betting that it will cost more to pull the oil and transport it and/or are trying to cover cost overruns from those issues. This drives the price up for a while even if the actual event has passed.

TL;DR: prices move slower than world events. If a bigger economy nerd wants to step up and correct/fill this in I'd be happy to listen.

Not here in eastern PA. we went from 2.90 to 3.15 and it has stayed at 3.15

1
Canlog96 1 point ago +1 / -0

They’re softening us up for the massive price increases we’re going to see once they start “putting a price on carbon” or whatever the next phase is. I’ve seen it before in just the last decade. Prices go up and stay where they are. They become the new normal and people stop caring with the only resistance being the odd complaint about how cheap gas used to be. The prices will slowly inch up with being becoming accustomed to them over and over and over again. In Canada Trudeau’s disastrous carbon tax barely dented emissions and I’ve seen with my own eyes prices go from $90/Litre(0.264 gallons is one litre) to in the 120-130 range on average that’s Canadian dollars so mind the exchange but you get the idea, right?

Also taking the time to say carbon taxes don’t work and all they do is put a price on going to work.

1
tentonbudgie 1 point ago +1 / -0

Peak oil was probably around 2019, prices are never really going to go down again, plus a billion chinese just bought a car so I wonder if demand will go up.

Go to https://www.gasbuddy.com/charts and put in one of the areas affected by the pipeline hack. For example, Atlanta, GA.
You will see a sharp increase around the beginning of May, when the hack happened. Then a gradual decrease afterwards. However, it does not seem like it has gone down back to pre-hack levels.
