This is either blatant stupidity by VS or a brilliant marketing move. VS is widely distributed, but does most of their stuff brick and mortar. There are plenty of "competing" brands which took market share. They are mostly online. It is brilliant if the strongest of the new brands is owned by VS or their owners. It makes VS unwearable, even the existing stuff, because men will associate this picture with it. Voila, men buy their women a different brand or women will, because who wants to wear instant passion killers? In addition, they can save the VS angel show costs. They can use decent looking cheaper models for the other brand.

You mean run the company and its liabilities into the toilet under the guise of being virtuous ?

If a brand is loosing market share, it will sooner or later going down the drain. Much better to control and shorten the decline. If VS marketing found out that they don't appeal to the young, they have an issue. Time to die.

That's very dumb though because it demolishes existing brand loyalty. A better idea would be to convert the dying VS brand into a high-quality, high price store for older women. Take advantage of brand loyalty amongst the older crowd. And then you can have a VS outlet that features cheaper, low quality versions for those who cannot afford more expensive versions. You can retain much higher margins with very little R&D.

This is a get woke, go broke situation if it's actually a detrimental situation to them at all.

They stopped doing the VS angel shows a couple of years ago, and they never sold the stuff that was on the runways, aside from the Fantasy Bra covered in Swarovski crystals that you would have to have custom made. Kind of a joke bc who does a fashion show where you can't buy any of the clothes, but whatever.

I'm not sure what they're doing with the brick and mortar stores now, but they've been online and in catalogs forever. They're just going woke and they've been going broke. Now it will just be faster.

Oh, and good luck finding a brand with good looking models modeling the underwears, they're following a trend, not creating it. The trend just sucks.

Those obese young people are very unhealthy, very gross and hurts the brand. So, I think their move will backfire.
