Signature Verification is incredibly difficult and unreliable. Better to stick with voter ID.

RobHatmaker [S] 125 points ago +129 / -4

I’ll take anything at this point

60
War_Hamster 60 points ago +62 / -2

It's somewhat of a deterrent, at the very least.

40
SordidPontification 40 points ago +40 / -0

Especially when we found that most of the signatures were either all of the same person, didn't exist, or were illegible and not on that voter's record anyway.

i.e. the fraudulent ballots were extremely low quality fraud.

31
SquiggyMcPepe 31 points ago +31 / -0

The problem wasn't really the laws anyways. It was the corrupt counters and officials who ignored all the fraud. Thats the ultimate solution to the issue. Ensure the counters and officials are not corrupt commie faggots.

17
xzibit_b 17 points ago +17 / -0

Or if they ARE corrupt communists, the law enforcement should actually enforce the law and arrest them with VERY serious consequences.

1
deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0
3
YourWifesBoyfriend 3 points ago +3 / -0

That's the real problem.

Just creating more laws isn't a solution.

1
SordidPontification 1 point ago +1 / -0

Exactly right.

I do have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, we need laws that aren't easily circumvented by low hanging fruit efforts of fraud where a challenge can actually be met, but on the other hand what good is the law when you have:

  1. Corrupt officials who don't care.
  2. People delivering ballots that get counted at 3AM anyway.
  3. Judges who toss out requests for injunctions against clearly illegal activities.
  4. Judges who demand that clearly fraudulent ballots need to be counted.
  5. A SCOTUS that claims states don't have any standing when a clearly fraudulent election effectively defrauded the entire country.

Legal recourse is a useful tool. I just don't know how much more use remains down that path, because our entire electoral process was undermined under the guise of "Trump is mean on twitter."

it’s nothing

in Washington state they use it to disenfranchise conservative voters

2
War_Hamster 2 points ago +2 / -0

Can you elaborate please?

7
Quixotic 7 points ago +7 / -0

signature verification means that after you sign the ballot envelope, which they give you without asking for id (which would be much more efficient), they check your signature against the signature they have for you on file from when you first registered to vote.

So they can do this selectively and send a letter in the mail asking for you to sign your signature again to verify that you voted. In Washington state they do this and I know a bunch of conservatives that git the letter. If you don’t respond, by the date they provide, your vote doesn’t count.

8
War_Hamster 8 points ago +8 / -0

Thanks.

I'm on the side of limiting mail-in voting to those who absolutely cannot vote in person, not those who choose not to.

Freaking PNW Dems are pretty well entrenched.

6
Highspergamy 6 points ago +6 / -0

I hate the concept of mail in voting, especially well in advance of election day. It entrenches the idea that you are voting a certain way no matter, and that nothing can happen that will change your mind.

What's next, selecting to autocast your vote for the D or R candidate in the presidential election 4 years down the road?

3
bigly4trump 3 points ago +3 / -0

PNW went permanently blue after they enacted mail-in voting.

2
Cmchn 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think a thumb print would be the best way to do it.

2
Desert_Covfefe 2 points ago +2 / -0

That vote is way too close for comfort.

2

How are you getting on the front page this often?

Sus.

Good question. The mods hate me.

Thep1mp 19 points ago +19 / -0

It’s best to keep the signature requirement to use if needed. Not required to be audited, but the option still remains open to audit if needed. Require the envelopes and signatures to be saved- can’t think of a valid reason not to.

24
kazimiera 24 points ago +24 / -0

Been voting in WV since 1986 . I've ALWAYS had to show valid voter registration card, matching address on photo ID and signature on the voter books.

23
mytummyhurts 23 points ago +23 / -0

Same here in another state. It's astounding this is not the norm everywhere.

20
13
kazimiera 13 points ago +13 / -0

So does south Africa. And India. It's not racist there. Everyone is given a free govt issued photo ID.

That's why California and New York were giving away free drivers licenses to illegals

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
7
Liberty4All 7 points ago +7 / -0

And India. Hundreds of millions of Indians live in grinding, abject poverty but ALL voters have voter ID.

There’s absolutely no reason all voters in the US can’t get ID. The very notion is ludicrous on its face.

3
womp-womp-twice 3 points ago +3 / -0

5
Taupkek 5 points ago +5 / -0

And the computer system that counts the votes is run on something like Windows 95. They dont make security updates anymore. The guy in charge of security said they needed to upgrade it. They fired him immediatly. The local news never carried the story of his firing. I would love to see some investigating here.

Some states that went lax with signatures went from removing 1-2% to 0.02%.

My thoughts.. HOW MANY COMMIE FAGGOTS ARE IN AZ?!?!?!

10
SordidPontification 10 points ago +10 / -0

Exactly. I was thinking the same: "We shouldn't be concerned that this came up for a vote; we should be concerned that the margin was so low and those 29 who voted against it need to be examined, primaried if necessary, and defeated."

1

This is one big reason we need to keep pushing for forensic audits of the 2020 election. It lets the lawmakers know that we are building pieces that will allow us to bring the hammer down on any future election fraud. And if they don’t have future elections as robust and secure as possible we’re going to bring a world of shit down upon them.

34
RobHatmaker [S] 34 points ago +34 / -0

Agree. We got taken for a ride in November. A lot of people say that it will continue. I think we have made strides to at least make it very difficult to replicate what was done last election.

15
geewhiz 15 points ago +16 / -1

They. Will. Find. A. Way.

They write rules for us, and loopholes for themselves.

10
KeysToNeW 10 points ago +10 / -0

You're not wrong.

4
FreddyThePatriot 4 points ago +5 / -1

New rules that get ignored like the previous rules?

1
Grief 1 point ago +1 / -0

Are you joking? As of right now they'll do the exact same thing in 2022 and doing forward. If they've learned anything so far its that there is no accountability and they can get away with stealing elections. Heads have to roll, people thrown in jail, and Trump placed back in office for another election to matter going forward. Anything less is a lost cause.

3
ViagraFalls 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don't want a hammer brought down on future anything until the hammer is brought down on the current, fraudulent administration that pretends Joe Biden is running things. I demand a minimum of 100 nooses, or we don't have a government anymore.

Disclaimer: Nooses are representing a legal execution for treason. Whether the applicable laws allow for nooses is up for debate.

1
weAreStillHere 1 point ago +1 / -0

I’m with you. Was kind of speaking to the pessimists who aren’t doing anything because they think we can’t change the 2020 outcome. Trying to tell them, so what? Get out there and push on it anyway because if it doesn’t pay off now it will pay off later.

1
ViagraFalls 1 point ago +1 / -0

We need to get rid of the globalists or whatever you want to call them. I'm tired of them constantly being there and controlling politicians like Biden and pushing for insane stuff like open borders and transgender children.

1
weAreStillHere 1 point ago +1 / -0

Definitely. It’s all tied into the fed. Get rid of the federal reserve and we’d make some great progress towards getting rid of the globalists.

0 of them are Rs. The Arizona state House has exactly 31 Rs and 29 Ds.

16

14
remember1776 14 points ago +14 / -0

Why was the vote that fucking close?

1
Ponzo 1 point ago +4 / -3

Because some people like me are not a fan of signature verification. My signature can vary, so it would suck having your ballot thrown out just because its not a match of a signature they have from years ago.

If you want more than just voter ID, how about creating a database for each state that collects fingerprints for a specific finger like a thumb for every single voter and matches that before casting the ballot. If my phone can do it, so could a voting machine.

day221 6 points ago +6 / -0

Exactly. Remember in Wisconsin when hundreds of thousands of people voted by mail by illegally claiming to be indefinitely confined? So they were able to go to the grocery store but couldn't leave the house to go vote apparently. What did the Republican legislature or Republican court in that state do about it? Absolutely nothing.

Laws are meaningless in fact worse than meaningless because they only will apply to us. Like campaign finance laws limit our spending and are used to throw us in jail but Dems can have unlimited contributions from big tech and big media and no one does anything. Sad people here even still don't get it

10
snoopy3210 10 points ago +10 / -0

LoL I'm Canadian and I see that you are two vote shy of voting WITHOUT ANY ID VERIFICATION WHATSOEVER.. WTF USA?????

PS: Elections Canada's tweet saying that they would never use Dominion and don't use any machine is the best tweet of this entire episode

1
Grief 1 point ago +1 / -0

Because Canadians are dumb enough to vote for Leftist policies and they don't need to cheat up there.

1
snoopy3210 1 point ago +1 / -0

The irony is that because of our wood/pulp industry we preserved elections on paper. Maybe the distrust between french and english canadians also helped to keep elections paper only. But don't forget: it's federalized and not entirely transparent either. I don't know if the vote results are uploaded through the internet, but at least it's all counted by hand by locals and they can see the results box-by-box as they count them and compare.

1
snoopy3210 1 point ago +1 / -0

‘Some’ Canadians hehe

2
ockStar24 2 points ago +2 / -0

Seeing that we can pass this stuff is infuriating. It's a win, no doubt. But I can't help but think this could have been done under Trump's presidency. In fact, many amazing things could have been done through his presidency.

Instead, he had to write EOs to get things done. EOs that were overwritten during RB's first few months.

I have no solution. I suppose I just want to say don't trust the Republicans. Republicans are politicians just like Democrats.

This doesn’t mean anything if judges rule counties can count votes without signature verification, like they did in 2020.

The problem is the judges are right, signature verification will lead to false positives, and valid ballots being cast. (It will also lead to false negatives and bad ballots being counted)

What we need is ID verication. No ballot is accepted unless a poll worker scans the ID, period.

Sorry but I want to think Arizona republicans are being earnest in their attempts but I am way too pessimistic now, this is just more cuckservative posturing and throwing red meat at their base.

ID verification. Now.

2
SJBHamilton 2 points ago +2 / -0

Disappointing that so many objected to it.

Also disappointing is that failing to get signature verification for the 2020 election is not punishable.

2
Gregorina 2 points ago +2 / -0

Does this mean Santa could have signed a ballot and it would have counted in the 2020 election?

1
RobHatmaker [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

😂

2
EUssr 2 points ago +2 / -0

Anyone who voted no without a very good reason should be charged with treason.

This has nothing to do with politics and everything about the accountability and transparency necessary to legitimize any form of government.

Working against this is an attack against all citizens and hence against the entire nation. In short: it's treason.

2
awsure 2 points ago +2 / -0

Douchey won’t sign it though

0
RobHatmaker [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

Are you sure he needs to? I’ll wait here.

1

State laws passed in the state legislature need to get signed into law by a Governor in the same way federal laws get signed into law by a President once passed by the legislature. Douchey just punted on a bunch of voter legislation claiming he would not do anything until a budget was put on his desk.

Cool but its sad that this being a victory is where we are at these days. A minor step toward being able to have a secure election is something I never though we'd have to fight for. The fucking spineless RINOs that have been "our guys" for years got us here.

Please don't vote for the "lesser of the evils" anymore. Nothing will ever change doing that. Most Republicans have shown their true colors by now and 90% are the enemy. Just because they act angry on Hannity does not mean they are on our side (for cucks still watching Fox News at least).

If a democrat gets elected because of it, so be it. We've seen they will get their way either way, just slightly faster if dems win elections.
