Chaney met with the Taliban before 9/11 to do a pipeline across Afghanistan deal with Enron.

Afghanistan thought about it and said no. Chaney said you can have a road of gold or a river of blood, take your pick. Taliban, not liking threats said no.

Then using the pretext that they refused to hand over Osama (which they said they would do if given conclusive proof) and who was now already in Pakistan, the US attacked.

And here we are.

Yes, who could forget the pallets of cash!!! A Bush/Chaney classic.

Always wondered how much of that money was just put on a truck and driven right back into the plane to be dropped of stateside into their coffers.

According to my scorecard, no less than 3 of the last 4 major US wars were colossal wastes

Although if hemming in Iraq and taking out Saddam maintained the petrodollar (which I believe was the whole point) then it was a win for somebody.

But other than that, between Vietnam, Iraq II, and Afghanistan, what was the US gain, let alone interest?

and why would anybody continue to enlist for this fucking charade?

Think about how advanced America could be if reduced taxes and invested $10,000,000,000,000.00 that it took to literally do nothing but secure oil for BP in Afghanistan.

Ummmmm giving it to China, by our last few Presidents letting them give it to us.

Afghanistan, The British got their buts beaten. the Russians got their buts beaten, the Americans got their buts beaten. We will wait and see what happens to the Chinese.

Watch this backfire on Europe, though…

I can see it now. China seizes Afghanistan and the ME and nothing happens.

America seizes the entire Western Hemisphere. We can ask for forgiveness later.

America seizes the entire Western Hemisphere. We can ask for forgiveness later.

Considering who's running D.C. right now, is that really the best idea

No, it’s not, unfortunately :/

It was because George Bush naively believed that the only difference between those goat fucking, child molesting, monument dynamiting animals and an American, was lack of access to a McDonald's.

So we wasted a trillion dollars trying to build them up, but it turns out that you cannot, in fact, take the jungle out of the monkey.

We ought to have just nuked them and been done with it.

One of the quiet goals of our presence in Afghanistan: to prevent the rise of China as a regional hegemon.

Defending the Pope's poppy farms that fuel the opioid addiction epidemic in America. Truth anyhow.

The whole thing was about testing equipment and tactics to bring home to America. It’s obvious as fuck when half the country have just been characterized as terrorists and extremists.
