When did all these "Story Hours" start? And, why the fascination with drag queens? I remember corralling into the library as a kid to be read books every so often, but it was always just the librarian reading to us, or maybe a faculty member other than our teacher.

Does anybody know when this started?

Libraries are trying to reinvent themselves after realizing they've become obsolete for their intended purpose of lending out books.

You mean laundering money through book and movie purchasing

Place where bums can look at porn for free and chomos can dance around with dildos in front of kids. It's like an internet cafe for perverts.

It started earlier but the first instance I can remember is from 2017/18 when Whole Foods started sponsoring drag queen story hour after amazon bought them. I have not shopped at either place since.
