It pisses me off tbh, the only reason he's anything is because of America and capitalism. Seize his assets and kick him out!

We really do need some white Christian refugees replacing these commie traitors.

Biden's turning away refugees from Cuba so I assume he'd do the same for SA, same as during WW2. It was FDR turning away boatloads of concentration camp refugees...also a Democrat. INTERESTING!

I also grew up with Jackie and still love his pre-Hollywood era movies but the guy has always been an asshole authoritarian who licks the CCP's taint on demand. He extols the merits of an iron fisted government and bemoans the perils of "too much freedom" while benefiting from Western values and audiences.

He also refused to support and acknowledge his daughter borne from his mistress just like Steve Jobs. For me he has been the quintessential example of the whole "separate an artist from his art".

I think he was literally raised from a toddler "Soldier" style in a CCP circus to be an obiedient performer... not sure he can help it.

Fuck Jackie Chan then. I'm glad I haven't purchased any of his movies.

Maybe, the article says they don't want him because he's immoral.

It's because he cheated on his wife. Not endearing.

The man is not stupid.

He most likely believes that he can make a difference if he was to return and join his government.

I agree that his citizenship to the US should be revoked but the US could treat him more like an ambassador after that.

He will have to play a part and put on a face to be accepted and y'all are going to vilify him for it but try to let him take his shot at affecting change from within.

Woah that escalated. Jackie Chan ambassador? I guess if he stopped acting. The only change he cares about is in his pocket, It's mostly just funny honestly.

But his citizenship ought to be revoked, I agree there.

I'm not suggesting he should be an ambassador, I'm saying to treat him like one meaning that he would always be welcome in the States and would get a rubber stamp on his passport when he visited. He would also get the ambassador treatment of having someone assigned to 'assisting' in his visit should he want venture off somewhere like a nuclear power plant.

I'm saying that of all the people China sends here, he is way down the list of concerns.

I'm also saying you can't run a marathon without running the first mile and Mr. Chan is an ideal person to potentially move Chinese public opinion in the direction of that first mile.

You can't really know if he truly does or doesn't. There was a story not too long ago about the CCP forcing a bunch of Chinese social media influencers (And trying to pay some foreign ones to shill) to join the CCP after the CCP had record numbers of people officially leaving the party.

Regardless, you can't trust him. Whether or not it was by his own choice or coercion.

Either way he's compromised. Idk I'm old fashioned, I don't want to waste my time psychoanalyzing Jackie Chan. If he says a commie sympathizer I believe him.
