Nice post.

Vilna, as the Jews called it.

The Jerusalem of the North, at one time.

The Vilna Gaon ("Great one of Vilna," was an epically major Jewish sage and thinker. He is also called the Gra. He was active in the late 18th century.

Though he vigorously opposed the Hassidim, whom I like, I recognize his greatness, as everyone does. It is towering.

Great link, OP. Yes. It's about "setting conditions."

Have some children. THAT nobody can do for you.

And know yourselves, know what you are here to uphold. For the moment you have complete access to your books and heritage.

My old roommate from University got me to follow Michael Yon over a decade ago. We were on opposite ends of things politically back then, and he's since passed away. I'm really glad I still read Yon's dispatches. He's done some amazing coverage of things, including the Jan 6th capitol stuff.
