Yeah not only do the entities that receive overpayments usually reduce the amount they are owed or issue refunds so their books balance, but I've never seen one that makes overpayments and then simply shrugs them off.

Imagine how rich we would all be if it weren't for the federal government wasting trillions of dollars on absolute bullshit?
The average taxpayer loses about $600k over their entire career to the govt. They essentially steal a house from you.

BlackPillBot 25 points ago +25 / -0

They literally suck the life out of you at every opportunity possible. It’s why I laugh when someone says slavery was eradicated here. IMHO, it’s worse than it’s ever been, and most people don’t even realize it. If we weren’t tax slaves, and didn’t constantly take in illegal aliens from other places while undermining American industry, and workers, we could all live like kings with only working four hours a day tops, and still have weekends off, and holidays out the ass for everyone. People who wanted to work more than four hours a day of course could, and that would be the ones in the big houses, and multiple high end vehicles, and sports cars more times than not. Everyone else would still be able to easily afford the middle class life that our grandparents, and parents were able to enjoy with a nice reliable vehicle, and three bedroom home with two to three children, two family vacations a year, and spending cash to enjoy them.

We’ve all been being fucked in our asses with no lube since before our asses were even formed in our mother’s belly. 😡

Hey, someone's making money off of this.

The money you pay in taxes isn't disappearing and it certainly isn't going to benefit you in any way.

12
NomadicKrow2 12 points ago +12 / -0

Pretty much this. Take the military aid to Egypt for instance. All tax payer money. What was it, like ten billion? The stipulation is that Egypt can only buy American made weapons and equipment. That's pretty great, right? Probably not, we shouldn't be funding the militaries of other countries.

So what happens is Egypt never even sees this money, it's just an account they use to purchase, say, missiles from raytheon. So the Government is just giving tax payer money to Raytheon and Egypt is telling them how much. Raytheon takes that money, then sends lobbyists to DC and gives that tax payer money to politicians to keep these kinds of deals going.

When you boil it all down, here's what you get. Tax payer funded weapons to Egypt. American military industrial complex gets the tax payer money. American MIC sends part of the money to DC via lobbyists. Lobbyists give the money to American politicians. So when they make a tax payer funded account, it's really just ensuring they're going to see a percentage of it.

I imagine it every single day and it's a lot worse than your calculations indicate.

Consider the opportunity cost recovered if entrepreneurs didn't have to go through 17 agencies and pay 10's of thousands of dollars just to get permits to open a business?

Or how much cheaper healthcare would be if every doctor didn't' have to employ 3 paper pushers just to figure out all of the bureaucratic nonsense?

Or about how much better the quality of life would be the government didn't take half of what we earn and return far less in terms of "benefits"?

Or how much wealthier we'd be as a nation if our biggest budget item wasn't paying interest to PRIVATE BANKS????

2
Imransgarage 2 points ago +3 / -1

3

2
Imransgarage 2 points ago +3 / -1

Following the link it’s similar to the DOD trillions of improper payments.

They really have no clue except for the main thing that they don’t know is if it was right or wrong, and the paperwork is all fucked up.

1
War_Hamster 1 point ago +1 / -0

None of which is excusable.

9
Throwingway22 9 points ago +10 / -1

If you aren't in one of the higher tax brackets then you are losing approximately 1/3 of every paycheck to income tax, assuming you aren't also in a county/city imposing even more income taxes. Then you pay sales tax and property tax and gas tax. You're also already funding the USPS but you still have to pay postage and shipping. Also, you're required to pay the building inspectors, EPA inspectors, and pay for dozens of permits to build your house. You're taxes pay for those pretty courthouses but you'll have to take out a mortgage on your house to pay for the fees; don't forget about having your house reassessed for that mortgage and now you're paying more in taxes on it.

I'd bet 600k is lowballing it by a lot.

2
bigly4trump 2 points ago +2 / -0

I am in an upper tax bracket in a deep blue state, I lose over 1/3 of my income to taxes, and my self employment income from my side business is taxed at a whopping 45%. My side business is literally just creative stuff I do in my free time, I don't even understand how the government thinks they are entitled to half of the income.

2
Throwingway22 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's interesting. I'm not sure where that 45% is coming from. I know under Trump the self-employment tax was lowered to 15%; is the rest your local taxes?

2
bigly4trump 2 points ago +2 / -0

yes my state imposes the extra self employment tax on top of the federal, although my tax guy hit me with that mind boggling 45% number a few years ago so this may have been before the fed tax was lowered

I got a letter from the IRS and called my tax lady about it. She said the IRS is so fucked up right now that they have no idea what they’ve sent, what people owe etc. one guy had to prove that he was owed an $8k refund twice then they sent him a check for $22k. Fucking unreal.

1

8
NomadicKrow2 8 points ago +8 / -0

Some of this has to be intentional. I work in the healthcare sector and when a situation comes up where medicaid will pay for something, there's more hoops to jump through than with private insurance. I'm sure people can game the system sometimes, but there's no way all of this is accidental on the government's part.

On top of that, healthcare costs have gone way up because the Government opened up the money hydrant with the ADA. Government mandated healthcare with no real regulations other than "cover anybody." Healthcare fucking exploded in cost. Pretty much what happens whenever the tax payer foots the bill for something. College, construction contracts, military contracts. If it's tax payer funded, you can bet your ass the cost is ten times what it's really worth.

1
AmericaFloats 1 point ago +1 / -0

2
NomadicKrow2 2 points ago +2 / -0

At the time, I was on our side of the fence with that whole Iraq thing. The older I get, the more I find myself riding the fence.

Saddam was a piece of shit. But the intel agencies fabricated evidence of WMD's to initiate a war. Saddam said "fuck off" because he didn't have anything. He wasn't innocent, of course, but he didn't do what the intel agencies were accusing him of. I could go either way, man.

After all that, ISIS walked in and took the weapons and vehicles we gave the Iraqis. Hilarious. Saddam would have at least stomped ISIS into the fucking sand.

2
War_Hamster 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm of the opinion that Saddam was taken out for two reasons; 1. destabilize the region to pave the way for pipeline profiteering, and 2. Set an example of what happens when you refuse a globalist central bank.

I think your issue is secondary to those.

A flat tax is an improvement, but I'd rather just get the Federal Gov't out of our damn lives like the Founders intended.

3
KitKatCat 3 points ago +3 / -0

What do you think about a negative income tax to replace the current welfare system? i always thought this was a better idea than raising the minimal wage and UBI. It would encourage people to work instead of punishing and rewarding negative lifestyle choices like now. We could cut down on all the government bureaucracy that comes with the current system as well.

3
War_Hamster 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'm a bigger fan of repealing the 16th Amendment altogether.

Before 1913, the Federal Gov't got >90% of their money from States. This means, if they passed a budget the States didn't approve of, they had to go back to the drawing board. The States could say no.

We can't, and that's how the Federal Gov't was able to grow to its insidious size. The checks and balances on the budget were destroyed in one fell swoop.

2
KitKatCat 2 points ago +2 / -0

Oh I agree with repealing the 16th. The states would handle it themselves.

2
CAPTAIN_TENDY_PLATE2 2 points ago +2 / -0

I know a guy who was on disability before he was even 25 years old. Fat lazy fuck who refused to hold a job down. I think the longest I ever saw him hold a job was six months.

The problem was, his mother was a disability/government handout queen. She was convincing him since he was a child that he was disabled and couldn't work. She did this to both of her kids.

She also did her best to convince them that they were too disabled to live alone, and thus, had to live with her (the disabled twat).

Their disability? "Anxiety". You've got "anxiety" sweety, you can't work. You can't do anything but sit at home and collect a paycheck.

The funny part is, though, she and her sons would be perfectly capable of going out and having fun. So long as there was no work involved, they were perfectly content to go and do anything. This included going to bars and clubs, and taking vacations to various places.

I used to know this guy through friends of friends. He was sort of "tolerated" in a friends group awhile before he was finally no longer invited anywhere. His mother would show up with him as often as he would. They were the worst guests. If you went to a cookout, they were the type that would not bring anything and then eat you out of house and home, drink all your beer, and then leave when it was time to start cleaning things up.

The worst thing I think I saw him do, was he tried to have a "cookout" of his own once, that nobody went to, nobody would come hang out with him. So he started complaining on social media about how he drove all the way to the food bank to get those burgers and dogs, and nobody would even come out.

I was just like.... You went to the food bank, and got free food that's intended for people in need, just to cook it and have it all go to waste because you wanted to do a "cookout"?

Yea, this dude and family have been all about some vaccines and masks, since this whole thing started.

MAGA1775 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think many here would be shocked at the true extent of how many people are like this in America.

I have an aunt and uncle that are just like this guy you know. They are professionals at working the system and government handouts. EBT, free phones, free money every week, disability, free healthcare, etc.

My aunt taught her kids (my cousins) and now they are all living off the dole. My aunt has NEVER had a job in her entire life. They all refuse to work and I've seen photos of them on Facebook going out to bars every night, buying steaks and shrimp off their EBT, and living it up on the taxpayer dime. They also milk my grandparents for money. Complete trash and they love themselves some big government, Democrats and Biden.

2
CAPTAIN_TENDY_PLATE2 2 points ago +2 / -0

I, too, have family members who do the same shit. I don't associate with them, they will never be welcome at my home or any function I hold... But I have had the misfortune of having to be around them when I go to visit some of my older relatives.

I also have an Aunt, who is much like yours. She, to my knowledge, has never held a job in her entire life. All she has done is partied up her entire life, never going a day without being fucked up on some mind altering substance.

She claims she's disabled, and gets a check for that as well as HUD, food stamps, etc. But at the end of the day, the only thing disabled about her, is she can't go more than an hour without using drugs. If she's not fucked up, she's unhappy.

She just wants to be fucked up 24/7 and never stop living the party life. Constantly has low life boyfriends who are just as bad as she is. She and her boyfriends have stolen from my grandparents, on numerous occasions.

And like you said... I believe people don't know the true extent of this in America.

Because it's definitely not just the hood. It's everywhere that isn't a gated community. You can go to literally any town of any state in the United States, and look around at any public place, and you'll see a much larger percentage of these people than you are aware of.

There's even different levels of them, imho. There are some who hold bullshit jobs, so they can make the case that they're working. They'll pick up some hours at the dollar store or gas station, but still get everything under the sun paid for. HUD, EBT, fuel assistance. Especially if they've got kids, they'll get even more of that nonsense.

And the ones that DO work some bullshit job, while pulling in all of those benefits? You know why they work those jobs, right? So they can get access to more drugs.

I could rant about this all day long, because I've lived around these people most of my life. I don't care where I've gone, I've never been able to fully escape them.

1
MAGA1775 1 point ago +1 / -0

Absolutely. Many think its just isolated to the "hood" but its everywhere.

When I used to live in Florida, in a very nice, high-income area I'd see it all the time especially at the stores. I remember one day I was checking out at a Whole Foods and there were a young couple in line in front of me (mid 20s). They had a cart full of really high-end food. The cashier rings them up and it came to around $150, the girl laughed saying "wow that's expensive" and then I watched as she pulled out an EBT card to pay for it and watched as they selected "EBT" on the machine.

I checked out after them and walked outside and they were loading their stuff in a brand new Subaru with a kayak attached to the top.

I see this kind of stuff all the time.

1

Yep. I see it all the time, too. It's not like it's hard to spot. They do it out in the open.

That's the entire reason he was tolerated in that friends group in the first place. People I know felt bad for him, because they saw the environment he was living in, and tried to give him a place to better himself.

There was a period where we had all convinced him to move away from his mother and get a job (that six month job I referred to), because he had the potential to turn his life around.

Of course, his mother was infuriated that her welfare dependent was taken away from her, so the second he started doing good for himself she had to sabotage all of that. My understanding was, she more or less came and told him he was sicker than he realized and needed her help to survive (which was the furthest thing from the truth), but started convincing him he needed to take anxiety medication and see doctors.

That just started the process of her getting him on disability and getting him to move back home.

Pretty much everyone I knew that interacted with the guy just gave up on him and stopped trying to be around after that happened.

They let import 'covid' medical workers double- bill for everything. They were really counting on conservatives to lay down their lives and not check anything. It was all a communist-Nigerian scam they came here to pull off.

Imagine if that was a private business. The management team, Big 4 auditor, etc would all be in jail.

Imagine how much more it really was if they're actually admitting to $143 billion.

They're not just taking from us, they are taking from our children. We're running up debt we'll never be able to pay back.

And the world will foreclose on us.

I don't think this sort of thing started during the Trump administration, but I'll be the first to admit he hired a bunch of fuck-ups during his term. He seemingly had no problems firing a large number of them though. Shoulda fired a bunch more (Fauci, Barr, etc) in fact.

Yup. Now quite obvious that our government is ungovernable.
