Maybe we can do some crowd funding and buy some of these for the federal government

24
Winning_Bigly 24 points ago +24 / -0

No, the government will say that they will source them themselves. Then you will end up with USBs that won’t fit no matter how many times you turn them over.

11
nire6024 11 points ago +11 / -0

The government would never accept it from us because they would be at not cost to them. Their corrupt buddies would lose 10's of millions of dollars if they don't buy the flash drives from them!

That would be China’s intention, but China forgot who they bought off in the US. So, thanks to the ineptitude of US politicians that aren’t really used to doing anything, we all get usb sticks that are full of Chinese spyware, but our computers are spared because the damn things don’t fit into a usb socket.

Have they checked Hunter’s laptop? Have him upload them - he’s really into videos.

Woah - sorry about that! I forgot how much easier it is to control the narrative when you’re the one manufacturing the evidence.

So, they sell these in bulk. Bought 100 on Amazon, copied some truth nuggets onto them, and dead-dropped in high traffic areas. Hopefully opened some minds.

I too plug in random USBs I find laying around

2

If you don't run any executables, make sure windows defender is working, and use a USB Killer Shield you should be fine

2
yeldarb1983 2 points ago +2 / -0

Beauty of Linux is the odds of a virus actually targeting me is close to nil.

They exist, but the odds of running into one in the wild without looking for it are pretty low.

3
apchrkey 3 points ago +3 / -0

The risk with USBs is not just viruses, it could be a USB killer which can fry your computer.

1
yeldarb1983 1 point ago +1 / -0

I mean there is that, but unless you have a high-level position in government or at a large corporation, the odds of finding one of those in your everyday travels are pretty low, too.

I mean, I wouldn't pick something like that up while at a bank or something like that, but in a walmart parking lot? I kinda doubt a skiddy is gonna go to that much trouble, just to fry somebody's recipe for tofurkey (although to be fair, that would be a justifiable act of vandalizism... lol)

2
VirPopulus 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's about 3 GB in total.

You can look out for an orange USB drive, coming to a town near you soon. Or, you can download RetroShare.

1
spezisthedevil 1 point ago +1 / -0

👌

Is retroshare more anonymous than torrents?

2
VirPopulus 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes. It's friend-to-friend as opposed to BitTorrent's peer-to-peer protocol, so instead of connecting to random peers you have to manually add people to your network. You can also create a private node (user) that connects over Tor, and also anonymous subnodes to obscure activity from even the friends you add.

Hell I would gladly donate a 1TB external USB SSD drive for them to fill with surveillance videos if they would hand it straight to Matt Getz and Taylor Greene..

2
Tacitus1963 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm still hoping that there might be an honest whistleblower in there who will leak the 14,000 hours to Wikileaks. We could then crowdsource to make sure s/he doesn't meet the same fate as Seth Rich.

37,000 3.5" floppy disks is a more fun

2
yeldarb1983 2 points ago +2 / -0

oh Christ, don't get me started...

fucking floppies man...

Did you know if your floppy drive's read head is a little bit off, it can fuck up every floppy you put into the drive so bad it wont read on any other drive?

I don't miss the bastards in the least.

2
MICHIGANisRED 2 points ago +2 / -0

I didn't know that. I do remember installing windows 95 with over a hundred of those bastards. One read error and have to start over from the beginning.

2
yeldarb1983 2 points ago +2 / -0

And sadly, Windows gets worse with every iteration, only occasionally fixing something so broken in the previous release that it almost caused people to think about using an alternative...

2
MICHIGANisRED 2 points ago +2 / -0

Windows 7 is the last version that ran somewhat stable on my computer. I've been looking into switching to lynix. I'm not a computer guy though. I'm one step above retarded when it comes to computers.

1
yeldarb1983 1 point ago +1 / -0

Beauty of linux is you don't have to commit right away. Get a cheap, off the shelf thumbdrive, (8GB is the smallest I've seen in years, and that's more than enough), look into a few Distros (aka distributions), and see what you like. there's dozens of free tools out there to install a live distribution if you're curious.

If you want, I could make a tutorial on how to make your own. It'll take a couple of hours, though, as I'm kinda slow at editing, lol.

2
MichaelStewart 2 points ago +2 / -0

Better than SanDisk.

I hate SanDisk products and will never buy them again.

The thumbnail did look like a USB dildo.

2
Data 2 points ago +2 / -0

You'd need several massive storage arrays. Even a box full of thumb drives won't cut it this time.

FYI, 14,000 hours of security video, even at a conservative 10fps and with very good compression (H.264 720) you're still looking at over 130 Terabytes of data.

The largest USB flash drive currently available is 1TB.

2
yeldarb1983 2 points ago +2 / -0

130TB

so if we send you 20 10TB HDDs, you'll have it to them by tuesday, then? Keep in mind, I'm guestimating based on USB 2.0 speeds and the assumption that like all government offices, the DOJ uses windows for some ungodly reason...

2
A-Man-With-Balls 2 points ago +2 / -0

Absolutely, and that's the easy part. Having someone transfer all that data and insure it is copied over without error within the space limits of each disk, which most likely would be slow hdds for cost reasons... then do that multiplied by the number of defendents that get their own copies via discovery... it's not as simple as most would assume.

kjj9 1 point ago +1 / -0

14,000 hours is 50,400,000 seconds.

Interestingly enough, my home media collection has 54,346,426 seconds of video and takes up just over 27 TB (or just under 25 base-2 TB). It has a mixture of codecs (but H.264 is by far the most common) and a mixture of resolutions. I'd be amazed if anything had less than 23.97 frames per second.

And I target a fairly high bitrate when I transcode.

Maybe we should start demanding independent financial audits for the judges making the calls in the January 6th shit show?

As well as for DOJ leadership.

Pretty sure there's a money trail a mile wide for each and every one.

The entire NSA and higher ups in FBI have seen all the footage, inspected every frame in every video per camera angle. There's no way these tyrant scumbags aren't laughing at all of us right now, as they take more of our freedoms away everyday.
