Senator Mastriano seems very determined. His military experience would indicate that he is not easily deterred from what he sees as his mission. We should all be behind him 100%.

Philadelphia has been cheating WITHOUT repercussions for decades. Pull up old articles from the 2000 presidential election. Some precincts STARTED the day with 2000 votes BEFORE they opened their doors. This is back when Fast Eddie Rendel was mayor, before he ran for governor and cheated to win. Back then they also had locations that blocked observers from entry. Nothing ever happened so they did it again and again. Without repercussions, without punishments for those who cheat, we will never have a clean process. I hold Harrisburg accountable as they blow this issue off every single time it is reported. For decades. It ends now. Everyone must not let this go. If no one is held accountable this time we lose our last chance to fix this peacefully.

When they stopped counting on election night, I believe Trump was over 700K votes. They knew they had to have PA for the electors so they pulled every trick out of their bags. It's disgusting because they disenfranchised every legitimate American voter.

My understanding (from comments made by Mastriano weeks ago) is that the laws in PA differ from those in AZ. I don't think they have to hold a contempt vote in PA before they can enforce the subpoenas. He implied they could go directly to enforcement by the Senate sargeant-at-arms.

Haven't tried to look that up yet in PA laws, so if others have better info, I'm open to a correction.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 15 ▼
– PorchLightOn 15 points 1 year ago +15 / -0

Adding, though, Mastriano also says he expects court battles after the subpoenas are issued. I'd just like to skip the frustrating "hold in contempt" circus they have in AZ.

Imagine rejecting every semblance of security in an election like:

• Ensuring legal Voter ID

• In-person only

• Paper ballots only

• Hand counted only

• Audit the final vote count

Then instituting the shadiest practices imaginable like:

• Banning voter identification

• Banning signature verification

• Instituting national mail-in voting

• Using machines endorsed by the felony Clinton Foundation

• Stopping the counts in the middle of the night and sending the spectators home

• Resuming the counts in the middle of the night with no spectators

• Barricading doors and obstructing windows to prevent observation

• Legalizing ballot harvesting

• Legalizing the right to vote for "non-citizens"

• Vehemently opposing every attempt at auditing the vote count

And STILL managing to fool an entire political party into thinking the election was "the most secure in American history."

Its unbelievable how much leverage and power they wield simply by screaming racism. Fear of being called racist is the biggest threat to our democracy.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– PorchLightOn 4 points 1 year ago +4 / -0

Underrated comment. I can't believe how many people let themselves be completely manipulated by this fear. Even people with lots of power and wealth...they just fold like a house of cards, when faced with the threat of being called racist.

I wish someone could explain it to me.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– Frog_Anne 2 points 1 year ago +2 / -0

It's because no one wants to be "on the wrong side of history." Everyone knows those famous pictures of the little girl being escorted to school, the guy being harassed at the lunch counter, or the young woman being jeered at in a classroom. Just put those in front of people, and they'll fold. They don't want to be the bad guy featured in every history book. And the leftists write the history books, so you know they'd leave out things like cheating elections and importing illegal aliens, while heavily featuring some poor schlub as the face of wickedness. By the time it comes to a head - one party has total control and implements socialism, or MS-13 has imported an entire gang into your hometown - it's too late.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– PorchLightOn 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

That makes sense; those images are drummed into our minds.

The next question I ponder is why people are so willing to let others define who they are. I know I'm not the bad guy featured in the history books; I've known myself for my whole life. That gives me the confidence to laugh at people who try to tell me they know my thoughts and my heart better than I do.

But I guess I had to learn that. I'd never been called a white supremacist/racist/cult member before I became a Trump supporter. Because of where I was posting at the time, I got that a lot. After a while I got my sea legs, and I also saw that Trump made deflecting hate look as easy as breathing.

I wish more people understood the price they pay, when they let others decide who they are, instead of standing up for themselves.

It's not an easy thing to be in the "outgroup," or to be the target of a mob, maybe even rejected by your own family. I think for women especially, we like to be part of a group, and being targeted by a queen bee is scary. Many will admit they don't even like the women they're trying to get along with, but for some reason just can't dump the nasty people and get free.

You're right about understanding the price that will be paid. It's fine to prefer peacekeeping to fighting over everything, but if you don't think ahead and draw those lines, a person could "give in" right over a cliff. In some cases, they're dragging the whole country over the cliff with them.

The cities are ruined because of shitty PEOPLE and being from Philadelphia it really hurts to drive through my city and it is dirty, trashy, nasty, and gloomy. When you stop caring because you DON'T DO POLITICS, welp, you get SHIT. If you give a shit, get involved instead of name-calling and dogging the city out.
