Social security and medicare aren't even benefits. You literally paid in more than you'll probably get out.

Paid in more than you will ever get out. Imagine keeping that money over the course of 40-50 years investing. Compared to what you could ever get back. Get pissed off.

Have that backwards. They're welfare. Nearly every single person who has received SS benefits is expected to make more than they paid into it, even accounting for an appropriate return. Unless you have two high incomes and both work over your entire adult life, most individuals/couples have taken more than they put in.

This is of course going to end for people working today because ponzi schemes inevitably fail.
