All they have to say is "the science changes" and it forgives all flip-flopping. It's really quite brilliant. And when they want to impose something that doesn't change, they just say "the science is settled". They get to play both sides and everyone just goes along with it.

NotAnotherNPC 68 points ago +68 / -0

But when it's something they want to push.... "ReEeEeEe ThE sCiEnCe Is SeTtLeD!!"

Their data is fine and that's why they call you racist when you ask to see it. They know the data supports the racist view on many things because the racist view is simply usually right.

1
NotAnotherNPC 1 point ago +1 / -0

I agree. The point of science is to keep questioning and maybe get an answer.

40
Moebius 40 points ago +41 / -1

yup...when they got busted 'hiding the decline' on Global Warming they switched the flip to 'Climate Change'...

35
War_Hamster 35 points ago +35 / -0

When those ClimateGate emails dropped, I spent the entire weekend going through every one of them.

The amount of deceit they were employing to prove a narrative was proof that the science itself was inadequate to prove their chosen outcome.

It was not much of a leap to figure out that it had nothing to do with climate and everything to do with furthering the Globalist agenda. I have not trusted establishment science since, and I've rarely been wrong in that.

25
dr_gonzo 25 points ago +25 / -0

In the early 70s it was eternal winter. Then in the late 70s it was overpopulation. Then in the early 80s it was acid rain. Then in the mid 80s it was toxic waste. Then in the late 80s it was nuclear meltdowns. Then in the early 90s it was the ozone layer. Then in the mid 90s it was the rain forests. Then in the late 90s it was global warming.

Now it's just 'climate change'. Meaning, "If the climate changes in any whatsoever it proves our point. And please never mind the fact that the climate has always changed".

There's a certain percentage of people who need to feel as if man is destroying everything around him, and they're one of the enlightened few who realize it. It's actually an interesting sociological phenomenon imho, but it definitely seems to apply to a certain type of person, of the pathetic persuasion.

1
jacquire14 1 point ago +1 / -0

Interesting. There is also a small group of people who think there is another small group of people who rule the whole world's financial system. They talk like they know every detail, but can never explain where they got such information. Very peculiar?

1
CantStumpTheTrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

To be fair, I think the "Its the jews!" group to be just as retarded.

9
Spawnlingman 9 points ago +9 / -0

Global Warming was too specific. They kept getting caught in temperature debates and hard to answer questions about why it wasn't what they said at all.

Climate Change goes both ways. They get to swing it any direction they want.

6
RMR57 6 points ago +6 / -0

They can't/won't answer these questions:

  1. What caused the ice ages?
  2. What temperature is the earth supposed to be?
  3. Is it good that CO2 nourishes plants and makes them grow faster?

In other words, they're just making shit up so they can implement Marxism.

28
LizardKingx001 28 points ago +28 / -0

I'm starting to think they all tout "the science" to make people who never did well in the hard sciences in school feel better by allowing them to say "i follow & believe in the science" after reading a CNN headline.

It Also allows the self-important leftists in science-related fields to feel an even more inflated sense of importance.

Half the people who say they follow the science Have never read anything related to science in a long, long time.

The term science is now meaningless

14
OtisTheTownDrunk 14 points ago +14 / -0

I TRUST THE SCIENCE!!! White cat says : You trust the television.

10
p1smo 10 points ago +10 / -0

And yet the same types of people that say they believe in ‘science’ will shout down every question and position that challenges their preconceived viewpoint. It isn’t science anymore, it’s dogma.

5
LizardKingx001 5 points ago +5 / -0

Precisely. And any doubts or hesitation you may have will get you labeled uneducated (which also has been rendered a useless term).

Wonder if these people would blindly trust a banker/lender or financial advisor on what to do with their money and/or debt. Wall street guys are usually highly educated and there is a science/mathematical process behind those financial methods

7
HadrianTheGreat 7 points ago +7 / -0

Nah. Blue states do. Rest of the country has been business as usual over a year now.

6
Libertas_Vel_Mors 6 points ago +6 / -0

Most rural counties in the blue states have been open for business as well. This changes as you get closer to the bigger cities, but for the most part, once you get out where town sizes drop below 3,000, the mask/closure mandates tend to evaporate along with the cell signal.

73
sustainable_saltmine 73 points ago +73 / -0

no nationally imposed lockdowns, just smaller state-controlled lockdowns. There's no difference except Biden can't directly be blamed, they'll have the governors shoulder the blame. After all, the Constitution is "above the Governor's pay grade" here in NJ

33
Industry4 33 points ago +33 / -0

That's the way it should be. States decide. Federal has no jurisdiction here.

46
shadows_of_the_mind 46 points ago +46 / -0

States can still violate the constitution. Phil Murphy is hands down the worst governor in the country

3

States also don't have the power. The tenth amendment only gives the states power that the federal government is not prohibited from exercising. The first amendment's right to peaceably assemble is right there in plain English.

GTFO Pinko. Trump supporters only.

22
Braineack 22 points ago +22 / -0

But it's exactly what Trump did -- he put it on the Governors who then went power-hungry.

And still got blamed for everything anyway...

0
NotAnotherNPC 0 points ago +3 / -3

It's not the same. Its the opposite. Biden is interested in the lock downs and knows he can't do it at the Federal level. He's doing this to push the Governors to do it within their power. Trump gave them the middle finger and told them to do it themselves if they wanted it so bad.

Different intentions completely.

4
Braineack 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes, the intent is different, but It's still a cop out.

It's still handing over power/authority/responsibility to power-hungry governors who -- as the court cases proved -- stepped outside the bounds of fed/state constitutions.

The biggest difference is Trump assumed locals governments would listen to their constituents -- seems only FL did that.

Biden now knows governors can basically do whatever they want without regard and it takes nearly a year in court to slap their wrists.

He only said that because they ran a model where they have national lockdowns and most red states don’t comply - then after weeks or months the control group with no lockdown has no differences.

11
iSignedUpForThis 11 points ago +11 / -0

Probably "no differences" in COVID stats but almost certainly many differences with all other metrics: quality of life, suicide rate, unemployment rate, etc.

2
NeverInterruptEnemy 2 points ago +3 / -1

I feel like that still might happen.

1
Tyrone_biggums 1 point ago +1 / -0

There won’t be another lockdown because they are going to mandate that we have to take the “vaccine”. That’s really what that Posobiac tweet was referring to.

8

Somebody better read the Constitution. The President nor the Federal Government have the power to impose a “National” lockdown. Whatever that means. Each individual state possesses that authority.

3

Tyrone_biggums 0 points ago +1 / -1

You think the states have the authority to forcibly place their entire population on house arrest, restrict their movement, and arrest them if they try to run their businesses on the basis of state’s interpretation of whatever data may exist about a virus? Fuck outta here.

6
EagleOverTriumph 6 points ago +6 / -0

Two weeks to crush the value of the dollar, two weeks to ruin small businesses again, two weeks to make Amazon and Walmart gain record profits because going to a store that has 1,000 people in it with no ""social distancing"" is somehow safer than going to a mom and pop shop with tens of people in it. Two weeks to increase the suicide rate, two weeks to delay election audits, two weeks to fluff up Biden, two weeks to make lolberals feel like they're such heroes for not leaving the house while Stacy and Karen go around to each others houses "breaking lockdown", two weeks to deploy the military, two weeks to force people to get the jab, two weeks to kill non-compliant patriots.... but at least we don't have "mean tweets" anymore...

6
EagleOverTriumph 6 points ago +6 / -0

Also, remember, this disease is so deadly that's why we're just flooding the country through the southern border without testing people for it. Because you know, it's just THAT deadly.

2
Hussar 2 points ago +2 / -0

Deep down, the left knows that they don't have that kind of political capital. Biden* approval numbers are awful when you account for bad polling methodology.

It's not that they don't want national lockdowns or some kind of compulsory vaccine program or some ability to punish cov-vaccine skeptics, it's that they know that doing so would be politically devastating.

2
Bohemyth_2 2 points ago +2 / -0

2

So are they actually going to try another lockdown? Because I think that would be suicide for them, even lefties are tired of masks and lockdowns.

Monday, the fraudulently elected Governor of Louisiana reinstated his mask mandate. No one has even talked about it. I think even the libtards down here are ignoring it.
