It doesn’t even need to be a mystical fish. Jonah also doesn’t need to be alive the whole time. God created the world, he can do what he wants with his creation. If he says it, I believe it.

It doesn't even need to be historically correct.

The Bible is full of wisdom, full of parables. When has a mere history book ever actually SAVED anyone? See, it's not about whether Moses was a real person, or if he actually parted the Red Sea, or if Jesus turned water into wine. It's really about what it all MEANS.

The Bible is true. All of it down to the last period.

Correct. In addition, Jesus quoted this event as historically true.

God's word requires no justification from the manmade institutions of academia to be true.

In fact, it's almost blasphemous to suggest that science ought to be necessary to prove His existence.

Science was invented by God! Lol

Oh, well excellent. No hate either way, but glad to see someone finding God. I feel it must be especially hard these days.

May I ask what was the catalyst was for that conversion? Had to have been recent.

There's plenty of compelling historical information in the New Testament especially. I'm just making the case against the absolute literal interpretations of scripture.

It was a whale. There are people who have survived being swallowed by a whale, so it's not really that hard to believe tbh.

Yes. That doesn't mean it's not a whale. Do you think they knew the difference?

He created this digital simulation using atoms instead of polygons. He can do whatever he wants with it.

Whales are not fish, I think actually some guy just got swallowed by a whale a few weeks ago, the whale immediately spit him out and he survived

Because the same people who are critizing it are listening to the same old lie from same old source "Did God really say not to eat the apple"? "Did God really make a fish that could swallow a man and he lived"? "Did God really have a son that died on a cross and rose 3 days later"? "Did God really say there are only 2 genders"? Rinse, repeat. Rinse, repeat.

I'm not sure why it's a compulsion for some to insist on mocking a charming 2500 year-old story. It's either their brittle, dour literalism; their mania for gatekeeping and control; or their immature vandalistic cruelty. They're the same emotional 12 year-olds who hurl online insults at those who like dub vs sub, or are fans of the Super Mario movie. These narcissistic children are pitching a hissy in order to refocus society back on them: they want to be the normative tastemakers.

Has happened.

There can be different interpretations of this story, for all we know it could have been a ufo experience and Jonah could only describe it as being swallowed by a whale. Ancient Alien theory? Who knows?
