They want you on the grid and dependent on their toxins

Tracer rounds it is, then.

spezpedobestfriend 20 points ago +20 / -0

I'm eying a barret at this point honestly. Mostly sticking at 5.56mm, but its looking like we'll need anti-material rounds as the lucrative merger of corporations and the State (fascism) continue on Beijing on his knees Biden.

9
MAGAMAN4EVA 9 points ago +9 / -0

If they can't stop you from putting a rag in a bottle of gas then you don't even need that.

4

Styrofoam and Gasoline is more American though.

1
Cutter 1 point ago +1 / -0

Let me know if you find a suitable holster or sling for it. :-)

All seriousness aside though, look into getting an AR upper in .300 Blackout (7.62x35, assuming your 5.56 is an AR); same mags, lower and BCG and it is virtually identical to the performance of an AK with 7.62x39 in terms of increased penetration and such.

4
spezpedobestfriend 4 points ago +4 / -0

I used the barret in the Army, its a scary beast honestly. If I hadn't listened to instruction, the slide would have broke my right eye easily on firing. If I end up buying that, its because State Legislatures are debating actual secession and I need anti-material to protect my town.

There's a great deal of satisfaction just breathing in an environment like this, where terms like "tracer rounds" and "belt-fed" are understood.

Makes me proud to be an American.

4

38
RegularAmerican 38 points ago +38 / -0

There's a whole underground in Los Angeles like this. Since restaraunts have been shuttered the taco trucks have been making bank. And we all know they don't pay their taxes

35

Every business that asks for "cash only" is doing this.

6
Gerbaski 6 points ago +6 / -0

Correct.

18

Exactly, because government has done this via high taxation. How do you think the bulk of California pays their bills?

3
RegularAmerican 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don't really like trying new taco trucks. The one up the street from me has been there for years and me and the guy are basically friends now. I just call him on his cell phone and place and order and pull up to the window on my moto scooter.

But yeah, you can the venison with only salt and pepper, no water, take it off the shelf and heat it in a pan, can do upgrades with flour etc. if you like but mostly just pop it from pan to waffle 😂

28
illidann 28 points ago +28 / -0

if canned soup is now forbidden by the tech overlords then micro farming and self repairs would also make the list.

basically anything that is about self sustainability. thats a lot of groups.

wait werent those the hobbies of the environmentalists (aka climate change etc) ? making yourself self sustainable and thus wasting less resources overall ?

22
Chopblock 22 points ago +22 / -0

Microfarming:

  • HOAs

  • Rainwater collection bans

  • Seed sales

  • Growers’ purchases flagged as drug activity

Self Repairs

  • Digitial Millennium Copyright Act

  • End User License Agreements

  • Increased penalties and enforcement against ‘hacking’ controllers

  • Manufacturing Requirements and licensing that enforces inclusion and maintenance of proprietary computerized data systems

3

At least in a small town shoudl the HOA get too dumb for their own good will they face consequences!

Plus you can always live outside of a small town and tell all the HOAs in town to fuck off.

In 4th grade, my son had a teacher who was obsessed with trying to get my son on those meds. I refused. She was so pissed, she kept calling me for after school meetings about it. While waiting for a couple meetings, I overheard her telling other parents the same shit. I started talking to people, and turned out she was telling several parents the same thing. The principal backed the teacher, and she never got fired.

24
jimmityjimjimjim 24 points ago +24 / -0

Should have sued her for dispening medical advice as an unlicensed individual and the school for supporting it

12

11
BeefyBelisarius 11 points ago +11 / -0

And those who can't even teach, get a job in the school office.

5
l31sh0p 5 points ago +7 / -2

Great job at quoting a socialist, propagandist, and Marxist. Hard to believe he still has fans this day and age. I prefer Aristotle's version: “Those who know, do. Those that understand, teach.” Or maybe Malcom Forbes: “The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with an open one. ”

Some people are driven towards their profession, as I was to education. The fact that you generalize all teachers by quoting a play written by a Marxist, shows a lack of reason. Fuck you for perpetuating that shit.

0
disgruntled_patriot 0 points ago +1 / -1

Dude, you reek of butthurt. Which indicates that you know I'm right. You know that glorified babysitters masquerading as "teachers" are a load of know nothing bums who went from the bottom of their class to presiding over it because they know full well that there is no one other than them who are so unqualified to do anything else.

While the rest of your class went on to be doctors, engineers, technicians, and generally useful contributors to society that the civilized world is grateful to have around, you grew up to be the teacher!

4
prattle 4 points ago +5 / -1

People with English degrees should not be thought of as having a college degree in the same sense as people who studied something more adanced than average high school courses.

Educatation, Journalism etc are just vocational degrees for people with high school level English skills and no analytical/problem solving skills. If someone is the opposite kind of person, and has analytical skills but has troubles with writing, that person is generally more intelligent overall, but ends up with a vocational degree in small appliance repair or similar. English degrees are by no means any more selective.

3
l31sh0p 3 points ago +4 / -1

Educatation

I mean, it's a softball, but I'll let that one rest.

Curriculum timelines, zone of proximal development, and endless other education-based terminologies entwined within classroom pedagogy are surely not intuitive to the level of effective teaching.

The fact that you know so little about what education majors study solidifies my opinion on intuitiveness.

It's really unbelievable you lump education and journalism together.

Forbidden_outcast 12 points ago +12 / -0

Out of 4 kids, I have one that caused teachers headaches.

Every damn day they met me at the door telling me what the kid had done that day.

So I finally took her to the doctor at their insistence.

Doctor did all kinds of tests and then laughed as he told us, “this kid doesn’t have a lack of attention from behavioral issues, but that they have an intelligence quotient almost five standard grade levels beyond her age, and is probably bored to death while everyone else is learning what she already knows”

So the next week when I picked her up from the school, and one of the teachers met me at the door informing me how my kid had terrorized her that day, (exaggerating there- but that’s how it made me feel) I held my hand up in the stop motion.

I explained to her what the doctor had told us, and chastised her for not picking up on the reason that my kid was bored in class- because isn’t it her job to know and work with all kinds of kids and bring out their intelligence and positive attributes in the best was possible?

I then told her that I expected them, the school- to do their job and provide the education my child needed, especially as I was paying for it at a private Montessori school, and to please not meet me at the door ever again- exclaiming their incompetence at being able to work with highly gifted students, because we wouldn't want that to get out, now would we?

Please keep in mind that my kid wasn’t a terror to other kids- I was good friends with all of the parents in the class and we did many things together. So this wasn’t the bad kid everyone was forced to suffer through.

SO, cutting a long story short, they put my kid in 5th grade classes for 1/2 of each day, and the problems disappeared completely. (She was first grade)

Now she’s happily married to a chemical engineer, has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in history, and probably working on a PhD. (She will not tell until she’s further into the program, is my guess)

Even in private schools- stand up for our kids!

8
YourWifesBoyfriend 8 points ago +8 / -0

The school system is messed up. They can't handle intelligent people and that's kinda weird.

2
Forbidden_outcast 2 points ago +2 / -0

The thing that makes me angry is- you can teach any kid...... one-on-one, and learn how they learn- and then you know how to teach them, and you can teach them anything.

I guess this is where all the homeschooling protestations come from- and I understand it a lot better now than when that one was young.

I remember one of her sisters being in the “gifted” program at school- and my thought was “every kid should be taught like this”. (Classrooms dressed completely up as jungles with beanbags for chairs, and everyone learns at their own pace from there.)

BUT- that takes a foundation of a love of learning, and no teacher can instill that. It has to be done before the child ever steps foot inside a school room.

If I could do it over, I would put all that energy I had into keeping them home, at least through elementary. Many parents at our youngest’s private Christian school do that- and they assimilate well. Some kids only come there 11th or 12th grade to get a recognized diploma.

Homeschooling has changed a lot from when I was raising my first bunch. It used to be weirdos and slackers, and for lack of better words- isolationists.

Now, it’s just the opposite. The original good homeschoolers have paved the way, and I’m thankful for that. I would give it serious thought if I were raising really young ones right now.

Gonna be interesting when grandbabies come along!

10
SardonicGrin 10 points ago +10 / -0

Try the book "This Perfect Day" by Ira Levin (Same guy who wrote Rosemary's Baby"). It's yet another dystopian sci book that is starting to sound like the blueprint for the shit the autocrats are pushing for.

  • population drugged to control them
  • central authority (via supercomputer)
  • everything decided by the state
  • reporting others is rewarded
  • elites live in utter luxury

Fiction has been playing with the ideas of a dystopian future for a long time, the problem is right now fuckers are trying really hard to make it come true.

Well, it's just that ... well ... Facebook has been categorically censoring conservatives. We've known this since like 2017.

It's four years later, and people still complain about being censored on Facebook.

It's exhausting - have they read what's going on for four years?

I mean Big Tech censored The President!!!

EDIT: The best analogy is like going to an East Village gay bar draped in the flag and carrying a cross (or probably any religious book). And then complain about not being served and given dirty looks.

EDIT #2: Or grilling meats outside a vegan convention.

Exactly. And furthermore, these fucking FagBook imbeciles do realize that Zuckerborg spent $400M dollars to help steal the 2020 election? Are they THAT obtuse?

Yet they're still on there supporting Zuckerborg's commie platform?

And yet they STILL remain on there when they have been actively censoring conservatives [FOR YEARS] - and are now deeming home canning as "extremist" behavior, not including all of the insidious electronic data-mining and tracking they are handing to them?

Are these FB addicts really that fucking addicted or retarded, or do they all have the IQ's of a warm grapefruit?

When are these people going to wake the fuck up?

They ALL act like they have no other choices FFS....

I see these fucking people in here day after day posting shit whining about FagBook's [or Twatter's] censorship or some other bullshit, when they know full well they are willingly using a fucking commie platform.

I'm SO fucking tired of hearing them complaining in here like poor little innocent little cunts, and have completely exhausted my Fucks To Give for them.

LOOK YOU FUCKING FACEBOOK IDIOTS: if you willingly patronize chy-com commie platforms, then don't complain when you get subjugated like a fucking commie [especially on here].

It's very simple.

Now, you can either stay on there and just STFU when you get subjugated, or GTFO of there and join the crowd of thinking people who have either deleted their accounts, or never had one to begin with, and take control of your fucking online life. If you can't do that, then STFU.

I haven’t posted to Facebook ever since FB changed President Trump’s status from President to Political Candidate while he was still President! (And yes, I believe his is still President now, but even FB should've agreed he was still President back on Nov 14.)

I plan to use FB just one more time. One of these days my 97-year-old mother will finally decide that this world is just too crazy and move on to where she can celebrate eternity with happiness. I'll use FB to share that news, and then that's it.

CRT literally says that planning for the future is white supremacy https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/smithsonian-whiteness-anti-white-propaganda/

57
spezisacuckold 57 points ago +57 / -0

Planning inherently implies a degree of individuality and independence.

They can’t have that. They need the people perpetually dependent on the system that the people don’t control.

28
Brobold 28 points ago +28 / -0

Cultures built around future planning have been the most successful cultures, so that makes sense why they'd hate it.

10
CyclopticErotica 10 points ago +10 / -0

As much as we have come to despise them, the Chinese come to mind. As a culture they have existed over 5,000 years. They see us at most as a temporary aberration.

15
Chopblock 15 points ago +15 / -0

That’s more of a propaganda statement than anything.

The Chinese have no more “existed as a culture” than has the Western Greco-Roman set of language, philosophy, and tradition. They’ve had the same types of massive rise and fall of empires, takeover by “dirty savages”, long periods of widespread warring tribes and poverty, destruction of capitals and burning of libraries, ‘rediscovery’ of old wisdom, revolutions, etc.

People believe this idea about some “unbroken” line of unified China purely due to ignorance of Chinese history, homilies about China repeated throughout the years, and Chinese propaganda which pushes “One China” and “World’s Senior Culture” rhetoric into everything it can.

3
BeefyBelisarius 3 points ago +4 / -1

No, Mao did a very thorough job of stamping out ancient culture during the Cultural Revolution. The Taiwanese can claim to be heir to an ancient culture, but China itself has a culture that will turn 45 next month.

2

planning requires a functional brain. Trump was so right about shithole countries, but there are also shithole people. The current overlords, realized they can't fix all the shitholes, so they made a plan to made the GREAT USA a shithole too. They are doing the same to people, they can't make people smart and motivated, but they can ban math, teach fake science, re-write history, and crack down on "we-the-thinking", hence making the smart into dumbasses that will fall for the propaganda

3
BeefyBelisarius 3 points ago +3 / -0

good supply at Meijer stores in Michigan. Lids available on line

10
Bigpersonguy 10 points ago +10 / -0

I've seen jars with lids at target. But no lid packs. Better than nothing.

5
Prussian_Pepe 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yes the lids have been non existent since last year. Which even if it was the lock-downs the demand is so high that the plants should be churning them out nonstop. The fact that they don't kind of leads to something fishy.

1
BeefyBelisarius 1 point ago +1 / -0

Makes me wonder what people used before single use lids and how hard it would be to go back.

2
Consumerbot381732 2 points ago +2 / -0

In Germany, they have canning jars that have a glass lid, a wire clamp, and a rubber gasket: like this (sorry for the Amazon link). Rubber gasket doesn't last forever, obviously. I've still got a few of those jars that I bought coconut oil in at the grocery store.

Ikea sells some cheap, but not sure they'd survive the rigors of pressure canning.

5
freeamerica4ever 5 points ago +5 / -0

Same here. Nobody could get jars or lids around here. I had extra from last year. It also just happened to be an exceptional growing year where I live.

1
Dark_Shroud 1 point ago +1 / -0

You can order the Bell jars and lids through walmart.com.

18
business_narwhall 18 points ago +18 / -0

Check small hardware stores. They often get "forgotten about" when people all rush to the big box stores. That's where I scored my lids for this season.

9
GhengisDon 9 points ago +9 / -0

Smaller hardware stores are where we've had the best luck in past years when the big box stores were out. Also dollar general of all places sometimes carries them this time of the year. I guess it would depend on the community you're in for DG, but I'm in a small town surrounded by farmland and canning is popular here. There's probably more of a rush for them this year, but this time of year is always hard to find jars in my experience.

1
Dark_Shroud 1 point ago +1 / -0

I do agree with you, but I do not have any small hardware stores left in my area besides a Harbor Freight.

I didn't see any canning supplies last time I was in there and I only buy American made glass jars anyway.

2
SaltiTaralli 2 points ago +2 / -0

No Ace Hardware?

2
Dark_Shroud 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is alarming that they see these people that are self reliant or want to simply save food they grow in their backyard as dangerous conspiracy preppers, rather than patriotic self sufficient americans.

If something does go down like a natural disaster or emergency, they are helping either by providing immediate support, or relieving stress from FEMA so they can help others.. and to view that as wrong or bad.. that's just evil Fakebook.

9
America1stAndOnly 9 points ago +10 / -1

It's not even cost efficient. It cost me way more to grow my peppers than it does to just buy them from the store. At least for the initial investment that includes the cost of pots, soil, and plants/seeds. I also noticed that the Jalapeno peppers in the grocery store are freakishly huge. I'm talking like the size of my fist. While the ones I've grown only get to be a 1/3 that size. Maybe 1/2 if I leave it on the plant longer. I don't think it's natural for them to be that huge. It makes me suspicious.

At the end of the day though, the peppers I grew are mine. I dirtied my hands to plant them and I was diligent in making sure they got properly watered every day. They're the result of my work and I'm proud of them for that. That right there is where the real value is at, and what the government and corporations really don't want.

4
Weloveflyovercountry 4 points ago +4 / -0

compost is free. if you arent renting a plot, you must be doing something wrong. plus the supermarket one are often bred for yield/size/disease and pesticide resistance/uniform ripening etc rather than flavor/nutrition.

4
Chopblock 4 points ago +4 / -0

You need to factor in the value of learning how to do it, and the utility value of being less dependent on grocery store supply chains. The home-canned gods and fresh harvest bundles you gift to other people is also worth far more in goodwill than the simple equivalent retail cost of the goods.

3
SaltiTaralli 3 points ago +3 / -0

Although the peppers are in the store now, they may not be in the future. By investing time, effort and money into gardening and canning now you'll have the knowledge and supplies of the stores are ever empty.

3
Tryhardneckbeard 3 points ago +3 / -0

Fertilizer, pesticides, and years of cross breeding their crop is what allows for "Freakishly Huge." The whole reason you grow your own is to avoid the first two aforementioned problems. Also, most peppers are extremely climate specific to yield Commercial Quality.

Why do you have the lipstick? I hadn't heard of putting that away for prepping before. Is it purely there to be a trading commodity? If not, I'd love to hear its survival use.

6
BobDolesBanana 6 points ago +6 / -0

Lipstick and nylon stockings were a form of currency to entice women in the 1960s to have sex with you. Thus the prophylactic was included in the list. This thread is a Dr. Strangelove reference.

2
okboomer59 2 points ago +2 / -0

Akshully not so much the ‘60s as the post-1945 bombed out Germany in the wake of WW II

0
BobDolesBanana 0 points ago +1 / -1

Who are you kidding? Consider the movie's context. The value of Nylon stockings within Soviet and the Eastern Block countries during the 1960s, 1970s, 1950s 1980s and 1990s made the stuff into unofficial currency. Only special comrades had luxuries like nylon stockings. If you think I am being hyperbolic then you don't know what it was to be behind the Iron Curtain. (Man, kids these days...)

2
okboomer59 2 points ago +2 / -0

In postwar Germany one could buy a good time for a Hershey bar, a Lucky Strike or a stick of Beeman’s chewing gum, all of which were included in a K-ration

Consumer goods were also in short supply in the East Bloc

0
America1stAndOnly 0 points ago +2 / -2

Ah. Nylon stockings actually have a lot of survival purpose uses though. Aside from helping to keep you warm in winter, they can be repurposed for use as netting or other such things. The fact that they're also very lightweight makes it easy to include them in any prepper bag, as they won't really weigh you down.

2
AussieTrumpFan 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nylons are great serpentine / timing belt stand-ins on older cars, at least for emergency purposes. If you ever see an experienced driver of older British cars, for example, they may have stockings in the boot for this purpose.

They are also great emergency filters if you're uncertain about the quality of the fuel or water you've sourced - they'll at least filter out the larger inclusions. You might even get away with a short term flexible automotive pressure hose patch with a pair.

Prophylactics (i.e. condoms) are also great emergency water bladders. Provided you don't fuck around with them, they can hold a couple of quarts (at least 1L) of fluid. In a proper SERE situation, you're not going to care how you carry and secure your water, only that you can.

2
BobDolesBanana 2 points ago +2 / -0

Of course! Nylon stockings are great for robbing banks and disrupting facial recognition, too! Kek!

3
AussieTrumpFan 3 points ago +3 / -0

Y'see, the problem with jumper cables and car batteries / starter motors, is that they tend to dump a lot of energy real quickly. That's what they're designed for.

It makes it hard to get useful information out of someone in an enhanced manner because it's a dangerous amount of power that it tends to drop.

And the old style hand-crank field telephones are just too hard to find anymore. Maybe I should use the hipster I have chained up in the garage to sit on his fixie and put a dynamo on it. Perhaps that would be more reliable for getting information in an enhanced manner.

They don't want you "too prepared."

'Prepare' derives from French & Latin & means, "to make one ready beforehand."

In order to do that, you have to think & be self-aware of your own interests.

They don't want you to think or act in your own interest. And they want you to report up, if you observe otherwise.

Capece?
