Original post: https://patriots.win/p/12kFdjvMGH/seeking-prayer-in-the-er-with-my/

Thank you to everyone who gave encouraging thoughts and prayers for my stubborn Marine kido. We've been sent home with a "he's got covid—or some other virus—we have no clue" diagnosis. I should have known they wouldn't listen, that they would assume he's fine (even as he's barely able to talk from the pain in his head). But that's triage for you. If you're not in kidney or respiratory failure, they send you home. He's still in a ton of pain and struggling to breathe, but I'm glad he's not trapped in that place anymore.

There were two doctors. One was ridiculous and spent more time lecturing ME about my lack of vaxxed status than he spent examining my gasping kid. And he made sure I understood that "this was NOT the vaccine, there's no possible way." Then he said "Covid" a million times, in case I didn't understand he was completely insane.

The other doctor was great. He actually listened to me and asked a lot of questions. He admitted it could be a prolonged immune response from the vax, especially considering that my son had reactions as a kid from some of his vaccinations.

We're treating the allergic reaction with the second doctor's advice and I'll be taking him to his primary doc asap this week to investigate more.

Things are still not good, but we just have to get through the storm. Nothing is without purpose.

And yes, I know some of you think I'm a bad mom for allowing my kid to make his own way, that my kid is a moron for joining the Marines, but you're not taking into consideration that Faith doesn't always make sense.

We see through a glass darkly, my son's life isn't mine to choose. He's a young man of faith who believes he can change what most see as unchangeable and lost. Even if that's foolish ignorance, it's that Hope that made America what it is today. I'm proud of my kid, even if I disagree with him. And I'll never shame him for having a determined soul. 🙏🏼

You're not a bad mother. Anybody who says otherwise is a fucking faggot and needs to have their head examined.

You can only do so much as a mother and sometimes our children don't make the right choice. But we love them no matter what and do what we can to help. Just like you have this whole time.

I'm glad he's out of that place and I pray that he is on his way to recovery. I'm not sure if Ivermectin or monoclonal can help him since he's already HAD the clot shot. But, it might be worth asking your primary doctor about that.

I wish you the best and I hope things turn out well for you.

Ivermectin works with the vaccine side-effect as well. It seems to prevent spike protein from bonding with cells or something. Dr Robert Malone said that ivermectin took some lingering side-effect from taking mRNA vaccine in February.

Pine needle tea, star chinese spice, NAC. But ivermectin probably works the fastest and the best if you can get it.

I take nac (N-Acetyl Cysteine) everyday. Its cheap, and easily consumed. It tastes a little weird but not terrible. Its simply an amino acid, works best on an empty stomach. I get it from nootropicsdepot.com they are legit.

It’s used to treat parasites. Apparently there is something in it called Shikimic acid that can neutralize the spike proteins.

10 reasons you should be drinking pine needle tea

What’s so good about pine needle tea?

Pine needle tea has a pleasant taste and smell (always a good start). It is rich in vitamin C (5 times the concentration of vitamin C found in lemons) and can bring relief to conditions such as heart disease, varicose veins, skin complaints and fatigue.

Vitamin C is also an immune system booster which means that pine needle tea can help to fight illness and infections.

Pine needle tea also contains high levels of Vitamin A, which is good for your eyesight, improves hair and skin regeneration and improves red blood cell production.

It can be used as an expectorant for coughs and to help relieve chest congestion; it is also good for sore throats.

It brings you clarity and mental clearness.

It can help with depression, obesity, allergies and high blood pressure.

Pine needles contain antioxidants. These reduce free radicals, which are harmful to humans and can cause disease.

Taoist priests drank pine needle tea as they believed it made them live longer.

There is researched evidence that pine needle tea can help to slow the ageing process.

NOTE: Not all pine needles are good for you, some are toxic so you'll have to do a little research or just buy some at a health food store or online. I got some teabags from Korea.

Ivermectin works with the vaccine side-effect as well.

possibly works .

Just as the shots take SOME people down .

5
ikuyas 5 points ago +5 / -0

Ivermectin works as preventing spike protein from bonding with cells. The mechanism of how it works is established. It's not like it appears to work if somebody has tried. Please don't spread misinformation.

2
Grond999 2 points ago +2 / -0

I understand that. I've also listened to interviews where ivermectin looks to be helping with injury from the shots. It does not appear to be completely eliminating the shots injury, but at least it is helping decrease the symtoms. That said, I don't know that ivermectin will work for each injury on each person.

BloodElfSupporter 24 points ago +24 / -0

I will say that nanomedicine is still quite new in terms of application and most research was done in the preclinical phase so there’s just not a lot of data. Lipid nanoparticles are probably the best materials to be used for delivery (you probably have heard of good/bad cholesterol, which are HDL/LDL... these are natural lipid nanoparticles your body produces). It’s not necessarily the lipid nanoparticles that worry me per se; what concerns me more is the cytotoxicity of the spike protein, and the fact that we are using mRNA means we have no control over where and how much spike protein is produced in the body. At least with a traditional recombinant protein vaccine the dosing can be better controlled (that’s why if absolutely necessary I’d take the Novavax vaccine), but since it’s mRNA your body can be producing a high titer of spike protein that can cause unknown effects. We just don’t have the data on that yet.

By the way very cool techniques you’ve worked with... definitely jealous :p

Immunologist here. They recently showed that Covid 19 can integrate into the genome in tissues expressing reverse transcriptase. Hypothesizing that reverse transcriptase in the gonads (which have been shown to accumulate the vaccine) can lead to permanent integration of the reverse transcribed RNA into germ cells is not unreasonable. This would mean that the offspring and everyone thereafter would permanently express the s protein until the end of mankind.

I'm a MD and well published molecular immunologist. Also developed anti-cancer vaccines. Published in Nature Immunology several times and others. Not taking this whole body transfectant. Anyone with a molecular biology background knows this is completely nuts.

22
BloodElfSupporter 22 points ago +22 / -0

Nice. I used to want to publish in really high IF journals like Nature and Science, but after witnessing what happened last year, how the Lancet demonized HCQ and then retracted the article after the damage was already done, how Science was in solidarity with BLM... it has left me quite jaded about our Science community as a whole. At this point I just want to finish and go into the industry, and hopefully find a based company to work for. Academia is so toxic, even my own PI is a sheep and it just pains me to stay here.

Still, lots of respect for your wonderful achievement 👍👍 would definitely love to talk more to fellow immunologists if you have time

I'm sure those are lame reasons, and I don't think it is improbable whatever is in it isn't good for me when it comes to all cause morbidity. Would love insights on how to mitigate the impacts. I've heard NAC, white pine needle tea, and nicotine gum for example help reduce the damage the S1 and S2 proteins do ..

2
680-EVIL 2 points ago +2 / -0

No, but Cutaneous T cell lymphomas and melanomas among others. It's easy to make though. Basically, make a tumor lysate, generate some dendritic cells (DC) from your monocytes, mature them in the lab with the appropriate cytokines, incubate with the lysate and then inject them subcutaneously. From drwaing blood to DC injection, it takes 7-10 days, depending o the protocol and is cheap. You basically just pay for the cytokines, the rest you already have in the lab anyway. You could also design your own tumor associated antigen peptides, but it's more work, more expensive and doesn't really work better.

13
EricCharliemella 13 points ago +13 / -0

May I ask how you got an exemption? Could it be something some of us could use?

43
BloodElfSupporter 43 points ago +43 / -0

For sure! For one thing I didn’t cite any verses from the Bible, I just explained that I have a Christian worldview and that my personal relationship with Christ is of utmost importance to me. The fact that the vaccines may contain human fetal tissue (HEK293T cells, which is an embryonic cell line people regularly use for gene expression/transfection) goes against my beliefs. I further stated that my body is the temple of my holy spirit, so taking the vaccine is against my sincerely held Christian belief. I’ve prayed several times about the exemption and it was answered! Very grateful. Good luck to you fren and let me know if there’s anything else you want to know.

20
kornesque 20 points ago +21 / -1

No indication the mRNA ones contain it but they were tested on HEK and that is enough for me. I will not live on the death of the unborn.

The others actually contain fetal cell lines. I feel sick knowing how many jabs I've gotten were developed thanks to the slaughter of babies.

12
BloodElfSupporter 12 points ago +12 / -0

I know that the viral vector ones (J&J and AZ) were likely packaged using HEK cells, but you’re right, it doesn’t really matter which application it’s truly for.

12
kornesque 12 points ago +12 / -0

They advertise dead baby cells for those. The uberlink at Gab has all the clinical data for all the jab variants.

I'm not interested in getting an exemption. I'm just not playing this stupid fucking game, I'm not getting the vaccine because I'm not a moron. And even if I change my mind and get the vax; I'd destroy any vax pass they gave me just out of principle so it would be moot anyway.

1
winterblade 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nice! Totally off topic brother but considering ur experience would you be willing to answer a question for me? The following objections are responses to a Nobel Prize winning virologist (Luc Montagnier) who has been arguing that the COVID vaccine is causing vaccine resistant variants (I'd imagine he's referring to Delta, and perhaps future variants as well). Anyhow, several liberals replied to Montagnier's argument as follows:

Objection 1.

The problem with this argument is that it is completely wrong. The immune response doesn't come from the vaccine, it comes from the genetics of the immune system. If a virus can evolve to evade a vaccine, that virus will also evolve to evade 'natural' immunity. Antibodies are proteins, made from genetic material generated via a hyper-randomization process from human genetic material. Antibodies don't come from the vaccine, they come from human genetic material that gets randomized.

Objection 2.

The guy doesn’t even understand virology let alone immunity. Viruses evolve when there’s more virons, not when there’s more vaccine.

.....Are they correct? Or (if you have the time), I'm very curious how you'd respond to these objections.

Thanks!!

3
CensoredByMarxists 3 points ago +3 / -0

Not a virologist but from what I have read from Dr. Malone and others, the vaccine targets the spike protein only whereas natural immunity targets the entire virus. This makes it easier for the virus to evade the vaccine since all it has to do is adapt the spike protein, which is only one of 28 proteins that constitute the virus.

Furthermore, the vaccine generated immunity can supersede the natural response causing a cytokine storm where your immune cells attack healthy normal cells in your organs. That is the nightmare scenario known as Antibody Dependency Enhancement (ADE). Vaccine escape is happening now with the delta; ADE.not here yet, but it is coming. Here's a link from another prominent virologist.

https://seemorerocks.is/vaccine-expert-gives-final-warning-stop-all-mass-covid-vaccinations-immediately-or-face-unleashing-incurable-deadly-unstoppable-wave-of-disease/

1
CensoredByMarxists 1 point ago +1 / -0

To clarify, Cytokine storm is different from ADE. ADE may lead to that but it is the scenario where your lymphatic cells spread the virus due to T cell failure. A better explanation is provided later in the thread by D4M1ANU5.

1
ikuyas 1 point ago +1 / -0

I totally agree. I have been wanting to ask somebody if the stated mechanism of vaccine itself has a critical flaw. I am not even a natural science person, but with PhD in economics. It sounds bazaar that they claim that the anti-body is created against spike protein but not against the virus?!?! Do they know that's the only thing they have to keep an eye on against what the Covid2 virus does to your body? I would think that the virus does a lot of things on your body and the innate immune system deals with a lot of things against those things. But the vaccine claims to only focus on dealing with spike protein?!?!?

How do you feel about novavax, or the sanofi-GSK candidate that is preformed spikes locked into their prefusion form delivered with the adjuvant they use with their flu shots? Both are insect cell derived spikes, while only novavax utilizes a lipid nanoparticle.

20
deleted 20 points ago +20 / -0
9
D4M1ANU5 9 points ago +11 / -2

Agreed. The mistake in my opinion was solely targeting the spike and none of the other 28 proteins in the virus. I believe what we are seeing with delta is likely nearly full viral escape from the alpha strain vaccine spike antibodies.

I’m a Covid survivor. 35 days with 5 subsequent exposures. I have compelling reasons to make sure I keep my immunity to this and future variants high. Lung issues. Especially after Covid. My recovery was hell. I’m still weak.

Sanofi-gsk is doing a clinical trial of their monovalent and bivalent vaccine candidates targeting two different forms of spike. I’m strongly considering signing up. I’ve been about a year since my last confirmed exposures so my antibodies have likely waned but my T cell response should be preserved.

It’s protein subunit so I’m not terribly concerned with that aspect. My concerns mostly revolves around the potential for changes in cellular expression due to spike mediated intracellular messaging that has been seen from the prefusion spike attempting and failing to dock with ACE2. I’m certain it can’t be nearly as radical as what I experienced during those 35 days of profound illness. It definitely piqued my interest when I saw you had a background in the sciences.

Any insights? Am I foolhardy for considering said clinical trial? My knowledge only extends to that of a masters level nursing curriculum so there are deficiencies in my capacity to fully appreciate the potential consequences. I do know that with my regular exposure in the hospital to new variants I have somewhat justifiable reasons to want to find safe ways to boost my immunity. Protein subunit seemed so much better than adenovector or mrna to me.

5
NomadicKrow2 5 points ago +5 / -0

You will produce antibodies forever. If you come in contact with covid and your original antibodies have been reduced or are at zero, you have a cell called a Memory B Cell. It marks viruses you've encountered before, such as SARS-COV2 and your body begins producing antibodies again. People are vaccinated for life against smallpox, against chickenpox, etc. That isn't because they have antibodies circulating forever. It's because their bodies have been shown out to fight it and are able to produce antibodies immediately.

If you've recovered from covid, your body knows how to fight it. If you get vaccinated for something you're already immune to, you could trigger a very serious reaction in your body. These doctors around here could tell you more, but I believe it's called Viral Enhancement? Anti-body dependent viral enhancement? Something like that.

6
D4M1ANU5 6 points ago +7 / -1

You’re misunderstanding a lot about how the immune system works. We studied some immunology in nursing school. Not all viruses induce lifelong B cell mediated immunity. Beta cell mediated immunity can indeed fade and leave you vulnerable to future attack. How or why our body decides to induce lifelong immunity is not well understood. Hence why the less deadly coronavirus (common cold) never induces lifelong immunity. With regard to the flu that has a lot to do with the head of the influenza virion being highly prone to mutation.

Antibody dependent viral enhancement is another creature altogether. In essence an adventitious mutation occurs where your immune system recognizes and marks a pathogen for destruction, uptakes it and brings it into your lymphatic system for presentation to your T cells, but the mutation renders it unable to be targeted by said cells. The virus hitches a ride from the point of entry to your lymphatic system, gaining entrance thereby to your circulatory system. This results in rapid onset of a serious infection.

_ra247 1 point ago +1 / -0

Could "the potential for changes in cellular expression due to spike mediated intracellular messaging that has been seen from the prefusion spike attempting and failing to dock with ACE2" be the result of an adventitious mutation, one that could errantly suppress a cytotoxic T-cell response?

Those adjuvants are linked to neurological issues, guillaine barre syndrome, and autoimmune diseases.

With a survival rate of 99+%, don’t trust any vaccine for this.

1
D4M1ANU5 1 point ago +1 / -0

Survival rate for most is 99%.

I’m not in that category. I nearly checked out when I caught the wuhan strain. I’m also a healthcare worker. You can understand my concern.

As for adjuvants, it’s the same one used in their flu shots I’m not worried about that. That’s a well proven technology.

2
powershellder 2 points ago +2 / -0

I do understand the concern, and I find it unfortunate that people see this much propaganda with COVID, yet still trust other vaccines. It’s the same people lying to you.

There is no unbiased scientific evidence that influenza vaccines improve death rates in the elderly.

Vaccinating healthcare workers who care for those aged 60 or over in long-term institutions showed no effect on laboratory-proven influenza or complications.

There is no good evidence that vaccines reduce serious complications of influenza. Moreover, promotional messages conflate "influenza" (disease caused by influenza viruses) with "flu" (a syndrome with many causes, of which influenza viruses appear to be a minor contributor).

This lack of precision causes physicians and potential vaccine recipients to have unrealistic assumptions about the vaccine's potential benefit, and impedes dissemination of the evidence on nonpharmaceutical interventions against respiratory diseases. In addition, there are potential vaccine-related harms, as unexpected and serious adverse effects of influenza vaccines have occurred.

Additionally, there are significant statistical incompatibilities between official estimates and national vital statistics data. Compounding these problems is a marketing of fear—a CDC communications strategy in which medical experts “predict dire outcomes” during flu seasons.

Link with sources: https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/7rrf4s/comment/dsz06ce/

We hear so much about the vital importance of flu shots that it will come as a nasty surprise to learn that they increase the risk of illness from noninfluenza virus infections such as rhinoviruses, coronaviruses, RS viruses, parainfluenza viruses, adenoviruses, HMP viruses and enteroviruses. This has been shown in at least two studies that have received little attention from public health authorities: A prospective case-control study in healthy young Australian children found that seasonal flu shots doubled their risk of illness from noninfluenza virus infections (unadjusted OR 2.13, CI 1.20—3.79). Overall, the vaccine increased the risk of virus-associated acute respiratory illness, including influenza, by 73% (OR 1.73, CI 0.99—3.03). (Table 2 in Kelly et al, Pediatr Infect Dis J 2011;30:107)….A randomized placebo-controlled trial in Hong Kong children found that flu shots increased the risk of noninfluenza viral ARIs fivefold (OR 4.91,CI 1.04—8.14) and, including influenza, tripled the overall viral ARI risk (OR 3.17, CI 1.04—9.83). (Table 3 in Cowling et al, Clin Infect Dis 2012;54:1778)…..To my knowledge, the foregoing risk figures have not been explicitly published anywhere. They will not be found in the abstracts of the articles, so you have to go to the tables and look at the numbers themselves.

What is going on? We are told year after year that influenza vaccines are 60% effective…30% effective…45% effective…etc. Does this mean that they prevent a significant proportion of all viral respiratory infections? No, these reports are based on non-randomized surveys known as “test-negative case-control studies”; they look only at influenza infections and make no attempt to look at the other 200-plus respiratory viruses. Furthermore, they make no attempt to look at any vaccine adverse effects such as seizures, narcolepsy, Guillain-Barre’ syndrome, or oculorespiratory syndrome.

How can influenza vaccines increase the risk of other infections? There are at least two possible mechanisms: first, influenza vaccines probably alter our immune systems non-specifically to increase susceptibility to other infections; this has been observed with DTP and other vaccines. (Benn et al, Trends in Immunology, May 2013) Secondly, there is the phenomenon of “viral interference” in which a virus infection stimulates the innate immune system to provide temporary and non-specific protection against other viruses. By preventing influenza infection a vaccine could prevent this unexpected but positive side effect. The Cowling study discusses this possibility in some detail. A recent study of virus population dynamics found, at least, that influenza A prevented subsequent rhinovirus infections, and influenza B prevented adenovirus infections. (Nickbakhsh et al, PNAS, 12 Nov 2019)

Career officer here. Keep in mind that many of these military doctors were the bottom of their class. Many never completed a residency either since they are not required to for most jobs. Also, you may not even have been talking to a real doctor but a PA. The military loves to offload patients to PAs since they are cheaper but they have less than half the training and no residency specialty.

A migraine isn’t exactly a good thing but it can and will go away eventually. Just make sure that 1) he doesn’t suddenly develop double vision 2) he can give you a nice wide smile with no drooping 3) have him close his eyes and tell him to hold out his arms Frankenstein style. If neither of them drop or droop, good. If any of these things happen, it’s back to the ER immediately.

Other than that, treat with OTC pain meds and follow the residents advice on pain management and such. He’ll get through this.

There is a protocol used in hospitals to get rid of bad migraines: iv with electrolytes, toradol, steroids and benadryl. How do I know this? Administered to a family member many times. Almost every medication used to control those who suffer headaches Re prescribed off label meds including anti-seizures, botox, blood pressure meds, zoloft and what have you.

Haven91 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Oh, interesting this is actually what the good doctor recommended. He said it would also help in case the symptoms were from an allergic response to the vax.

Yup for my migraines it’s the Benadryl that makes all the difference

Add Sudafed and reduce the caffeine to maybe 60-90mg. Amazing results in 25min.

Well ah e your mom try pseudoephedrine (Sudafed). It’s OTC, thought you have to show your license. Look up what it is. Pretty interesting stuff how it works to help relieve pressure build up even though it is sold as decongestant

Feed him some steak. Good cut of real steak, not chopped meat. Cut in thin strips and fry it. About as much as the size of your hand, or more if he can handle it. Cut up small so he can digest it.

Black out his bedroom windows with black trash bags and tape, so he can get excellent deep sleep. Water next to the bed.

Crack a window open, and put a small fan in the room for good air circulation.

Bless you and bless your son.

NADSAQ 18 points ago +18 / -0

You can mist a window with water and aluminum foil will stick to it like glue and black out better than a trash bag

This makes me miss the blinds in Spain. They are a metallic shield rolled up outside your window and you pull a strap as the metallic shield unfurl. Between the segments there are rows of.tiny holes that allow some light in, but if you unroll them the whole way, it is pure darkness even during the brightest time of day.

5
Tazchaz 5 points ago +5 / -0

I remember them well. I was stationed at Torrejon AB, Spain from 1977 to 1980. We lived in Parque Catalunia. Those blinds were great for sleeping during the day and since I worked mid shift for over a year they were a godsend. But Spain ain't what it was back then.

4
KickingPugilist 4 points ago +4 / -0

My parents are from there, in the northwest in Galicia. I went there for 3 months every year through the 90's and 2000's as my parents wanted to keep me close to my roots and family.

I have many fond memories, but yeah Spain is not what it once was. It's a socialist paradise now.

Squatters have more rights than home owners. The parties in charge (socialists and the even more left "podemos" which roughly translates as "yes we can" aka Obama's slogan).

Small businesses have cards stacked against them, lazy and useless workers get the benefit of the doubt and major expenses are put on small business owners, degeneracy is rampant. I know, friend.

If covid treatments work for vax side effects, maybe consider fluvoxamine instead of ivermectin since Steve Kirsch says it can cross into the brain (unlike ivermectin).

There are some preliminary reports about ivermectin helping those with complications from the clotshot as well as those who have long haul covid problems. I'm not sure if Dr. Malone has said anything, as I haven't kept up for a bit. But Highwire had some of the nurses back on who suffered tremors and seizures and they were on ivermectin and said it had been helping them.

The woes of seeking treatment after a vaccine injury. “A diagnosis of I don’t know what wrong with you, so we’re going to blame you” they have no idea what to do and are too scared to help them. One neurologist denied her visit entirely. In line with reports from other doctors how the neurologist refuse to see anyone related to the vaccine. Civilians who judge those in the military are idiots. I've been in the military and I've been a civilian so I can understand the pros and cons of both. During my time in the Marines I NEVER met another Marine that wasn't proud of their decision. I even met Marines who made stupid mistakes, got kicked out of the Marines and regretted their stupidity and STILL were glad they went into the Marines.

I believe there is a serious problem with leadership in our military and that way too many "federal workers" were put into leadership roles for political purposes that don't serve our country. Our military leaders have literally been derelict in their duties in Afghanistan when they gave up their responsibility to protect our Marines and all other Military members and gave that responsibility to the taliban -- which failed! That is NOT on the Taliban, that is on Biden and General Milley -- they both need to face serious investigations into their actions.

But none of that has anything to do with your son. I hope he gets better fast returns to duty safe and sound. Also, there's no reason to disagree with your son lol -- he made the decision to join and the only path now is to support him -- Semper Fi Marine Mom

There is ZERO shame in trusting in your own Child and recognizing he is his own person with Agency, as well as letting them make their own mistakes without beating them up over it.. There is ZERO shame in serving others as he has chosen. A friend of mine's Son just left for Bootcamp 2 weeks ago.

there is a bit of foolishness in trusting the Vaxx with all that has come out about it, but that is a personal choice to make.

The best to both of you... and it wouldn't hurt to look into what others have done to mitigate the problems he is having now. Particularly since he's out of the clutches of the Brainwashed Medical morons. Then again, that is also a choice to be made and then live with the consequences either way.

Again, prayers for a healthy and happy outcome for your family.

Maybe another thing to add to the list, pine needle tea (needles that come in clusters of 5 - white pine needles work). I drink this every time I come in contact with those who just had the vaccine. It contains suramin and Shikimic Acid which is believed to help with both Covid-19 and the effects of spike proteins from the vaccine. Info here: https://www.biologicalmedicineinstitute.com/post/eastern-white-pine-tree-needles-a-natural-source-of-suramin. There's another medical study article I read which I will go back and look for. No one is ever, ever, a moron for joining the military. If nothing else, it's a selfless act that reflects well upon the person making that decision. Even if they don't make it out of boot, they still signed up to sacrifice their own interests for the good of their country. Not many people are willing to do the same.

Of all the genuinely bad choices available to young men right out of high school, joining the military is not one of them, by a long shot.

MedPede2 4 points ago +4 / -0

Hope your son is doing well and continues to improve.

And he made sure I understood that "this was NOT the vaccine, there's no possible way."

That's like saying there's no way a person can end up on a ventilator for eating peanut contaminated food. We have an entire system system (VAERS) for tracking adverse reactions to vaccines, so we can try to prevent future medication disasters.

That doctor that told you that either hasn't seen or ignoring the CDC's own data:
https://vaersanalysis.info/2021/09/03/vaers-summary-for-covid-19-vaccines-through-8-27-2021/ That doctor should reconsider why they are doing what they do. Their patient's best interests should come first, not their opinion, their pride or their politics.

Here's a fairly frequent scenario for us. Pt comes in with an allergic reaction. Among the flurry of questions about what they recently ate or what might have recently changed (deodorants, laundry detergents etc) we ask if they were vaccinated, and if so, how recently they were vaccinated.

"This could be an reaction to the vaccine" is a statement that occurs a LOT. There isn't a specific ICD10 code for a Covid vaccine reaction yet, but it is frequent diagnosis. A month ago, I would have said we see more patients for vaccine reactions than we do for Covid.

Just a dumb suggestion here, but make sure he stays away from dairy for the immediate future as the breathing problems can get worse with the mucus, as well lots of caffeine for the headache.

3
Knowmadicsoul 3 points ago +3 / -0

Just an FYI if your son starts experiencing tingling and/or muscle weakness.

My 23 year old nephew was recently in ICU for 3 weeks with Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS). It started out as severe persistent headache. They sent him home the first time from ER with Tylenol after a diagnosis of migraine headache. A week later he was back in ER.

He had just recently gotten a tetanus and HPV vax and had the Moderna Covid vax 1-2 months prior. Once back in hospital, he got tested for everything...Covid, Zika virus, Lyme disease, etc. All came back negative. Neurologist thought it could have been the tetanus shot, as vaccinations are linked to GBS. I thought it odd since the tetanus vax had never caused a reaction before, but the HPV vax was new. In the end, doctors really had no clue what triggered the GBS. (I can't help but think that the Covid vax triggered an overreaction of his immune system to the tetanus and HPV vax.)

Good news is my nephew is doing much better after being properly diagnosed and treated. He's happy to be home and working on building his strength back. His neurologist said that there was no way they would have suspected GBS the first time he was in ER.

Just wanted to share in case your son's headaches persist and he starts having tingling and/or muscle weakness too because headaches aren't a typical symptom of GBS. The muscle weakness I believe is what lead to trouble breathing. It's a terrible mystery illness and doctors did all they could to keep him off a ventilator. He was on a feeding tube and O2. Key treatment involved plasma exchange.

My thoughts and prayers that this is not what's going on with your son and that he gets better really soon. 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏

3
abbadon 3 points ago +3 / -0

But that's triage for you. If you're not in kidney or respiratory failure, they send you home. He's still in a ton of pain and struggling to breathe, but I'm glad he's not trapped in that place anymore.

As a MD who works in a large hospital, if you aren't in some kind of critical condition you don't want to be in the hospital. The longer people stay in that place the more likely they are to get a resistant disease, or an adverse event might occur.

As bad as headaches are, if there are no neurological signs of stroke or evidence of it on imaging, then he doesn't need to be there and shouldn't be there.

It could be a prolonged immune reaction, it could be COVID, it could be a different virus, it could be completely unrelated. Really hard to know. However, reaction to previous unrelated vaccines is not a contraindication for getting the COVID vaccine. The only vaccine I'm aware of with that contraindication are ones for Pertussis.

Young men are unfortunately prone to "Cluster headaches", so that's something to think about. They are very painful, and can last a long long time.

1
Haven91 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, this is so true. Hospitals are scary places. I've unfortunately spent a lot of time in them.

This is a good perspective as to the possible causes as well. The more I'm watching him and researching, I'm wondering if some hibernating virus simply took advantage of his weakened immune system (from the vax) and now he's battling both at once.

Thankfully his primary will listen to my concerns once I am able to present them to him. Unfortunately, it's a holiday.

2
abbadon 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm wondering if some hibernating virus simply took advantage of his weakened immune system (from the vax) and now he's battling both at once.

It's possible, and from my understanding wouldn't be the first report in literature, but extraordinarily rare.

As an olive branch, in medicine it's very hard to not do what we call "anchoring" and stick to what we initially think is going on. It's not out of hubris, but "common things being common" we want to first go with what makes the most sense and is most likely to be doing this. In this context it does sound like he got unlucky to get COVID even though he got vaccinated.

However he is lucky that the vaccine was still able to do it's job and his infection was not nearly as life-threatening as it would have been. So they were right to initially treat it as if it was COVID, and have you see someone outpatient.

The outpatient doctor you saw (2nd one) has a lot more time to think about the case. They have all the work the 1st team did, and it allows someone to sit back and think why is it not resolving.

So I encourage you to understand the health care worker's perspective here and why being a 2nd opinion in medicine is much easier.

1
Haven91 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, I can see this. And I actually talked to the second doctor about this, likely/unlikely thing but also, the symptoms appear to replicate a virus.

Looks like the Covid test came back negative.

But his best friends mom just called me and apparently her son is really sick with similar symptoms (not as severe) but also tested negative for Covid, as well as negative for strep. These boys are tied at the hip. Of course, there are millions of other things it could be, but I thought that was an interesting tick in the column of “likely a virus”.

No, you’re not a bad mom, but this is the most beautiful thing I’ve read in awhile...

“We see through a glass darkly, my son's life isn't mine to choose. He's a young man of faith who believes he can change what most see as unchangeable and lost. Even if that's foolish ignorance, it's that Hope that made America what it is today. I'm proud of my kid, even if I disagree with him. And I'll never shame him for having a determined soul.”

I have a question for you:

First, how many days passed between the shot and the reaction/illness?

Second, why do you think it’s an allergic reaction rather than Covid. I’m wondering because this summer my brother received the Pfizer shot 1, and within a week he got covid. I think that the shot made him more susceptible to catching it, and may have made the virus more severe for him. For what it’s worth, my brother texted me this a couple weeks ago, after he was treated at the hospital and started feeling better (it took 2-3 days) ——- “If u know anyone who gets Covid tell them to get their doctor to prescribe and arrange this. Game changer…literally • Casirivimab and imdevimab, administered together (EUA issued November 21, 2020, latest update July 30, 2021) The FDA authorized the use of this monoclonal antibody therapy to treat mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adults and pediatric patients when both of these apply: • The patient has a positive COVID-19 test result • The patient is at high risk for progressing to severe COVID-19, hospitalization, or both” ——- Praying for your son. Please update us.

Oh, this is great advice! I'm seeing those two meds pop up a lot in my research. I'll stick those in my pocket to chat with his doctor about.

Yes, I actually woke up thinking this, about a virus (covid or otherwise) taking advantage of his weakened state. It was a little let than a week that his throat started to hurt. And a week exactly that the symptoms knocked him down. He got the J&J.

So glad your brother is ok!

Aspirin, ivermectin (just once every 48 hours for safety sake), Benadryl, zinc, vitamin D.

Get your kids heart checked for myocarditis ASAP. Monitor his blood pressure until that headache subsides. If it’s allergy the Benadryl will help. If it’s autoimmune from the spikes or a RAAS dysregukation from spike / ACE2 interaction ivermectin will help. If zinc or D are deficient it can impair his immune response.

Antipyretic (fever medicines) will blunt his immune response to the vaccine as well. At this point, that’s a good idea. This is why they no longer want people to give fever meds to kids after vaccines.
