I believe Xidin will allow the chinks to have Hong Kong, Taiwan, Nepal, even Japan. South Korea will probably be the line and by then it will be too late.

I keep hearing about this. If there were minerals to be extracted, why didn't Trump get them mined during his 4 year term? Not bashing anyone, just a simple question. If it was as easy as sending in some big dump trucks, loaders, and other mining equipment, and training the Muzzie savages how to do honest work like mine rare earth elements, why didn't Trump do it? Why didn't Obama or Bush do it?

If we failed, for 20 years, to do something, and now China goes in and does it, that's a failure on our part, a failure of not just Creepy Joe, Obama and Bush, but also of Trump.

I'm assuming if none of those presidents managed to get mining going, then it's not as easy as we think it will be for the Chinese.

17
fskfsk 17 points ago +17 / -0

The problem is you have to be able to set up the mine without the Taliban murdering your workers and blowing up your infrastructure.

China has a deal with the Taliban, so they'll let them operate the mine without interference.

Afghanistan's US-backed government was incompetent and corrupt.

mining in real life isn't like mining in mincraft

I'd imagine it takes a much longer time to completely mine out lithium and copper than just 4 years. Not sure that's even something the president has authority over.

8
bill_in_texas 8 points ago +8 / -0

Well, yes, I agree. My question is, in the 20 years we were there, did anyone START mining? In other words, at the time we left, was there even one mine open, or previously open in Afghanistan? If so, I never heard about it or saw pictures of it.

5
BasedTemplar 5 points ago +7 / -2

That's fair.

4
independentbystander 4 points ago +4 / -0

The price of neodymium/"rare earth" magnets has gone insane over the past few months. This is largely due to Chinese price-gouging (we have "rare earth" mineral deposits here in the US, but Leftist tree-huggers object to mining them.)

> Those neodymium magnets (stronger by weight than conventional magnets) are used in many products like cell-phones, electric cars, etc etc.

3
Lila_Quartermaine 3 points ago +3 / -0

I just bought some at Joann Fabrics on clearance for 3.47

They are handy needle minders.

4
independentbystander 4 points ago +4 / -0

So far, "new old stock" neodymium products with long shelf-life seem to be selling for normal prices.

New stock of certain neodymium-dependent products have doubled/tripled in price, with no end in sight to the price-hike. We will likely see huge price jumps on these items in the coming months. (Cell phones, electric cars, audio equipment, etc.)

It’s really sick… yeah I mean he handed over Afghanistan to the Taliban… it doesn’t get much worse than that. Unless they invade like Alaska or Hawaii. The dems would be like but it’s just Alaska; they all deserve to die

If taiwan is lost to china, american economy will collapse. Taiwanese semiconductors are extremely important for the american techindustry.

16
Cesare_Borgia 16 points ago +16 / -0

The entire world relies on Taiwanese semi conductors. Even China.

I wonder if Taiwan has those fabrication facilities rigged for demolition in the result in invasion.

4
Herpawinski 4 points ago +4 / -0

They're moving at least one factory to America as we speak. Hopefully more (if China really does take Taiwan), but I hope China does not.

6
Liberty4All 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yes, but chip fabs take a few years to build and bring into operation.

They are complex facilities; it's not like you can just toss up a pre-fab metal warehouse, truck in in a few machines and get started.

They require highly trained workers, too.

13
Liberty4All 13 points ago +13 / -0

Damnit. I knew this was going to happen, but I hoped it might be a little later.

Biden and his handlers won't do shit to prevent China from taking Taiwan or Nepal.

South Korea and Japan we have obligations to defend, but if China thinks we won't do honor those obligations, they will go after them, too.

Japan at least will try to defend itself. There's waaaay too much bad blood between the Japanese and the Chinese for them to just roll over. If the Chinese can blockade Japan (because America and Europe sit on their hands), China could starve them out - Japan imports most of their food. At that point the world might find out if the Japanese have nukes like most people think they do.

6
BoatingAccident 6 points ago +6 / -0

Oh they do. They do.

4
rubberkidney 4 points ago +4 / -0

zero chance japan falls to china. not only would basically the entire world be on japans side against china, but chinas paper military bullshit would crumple against a japan that was facing a serious existential threat from china.

1
Liberty4All 1 point ago +1 / -0

I sincerely hope you're right. There are a whole lot of things that I thought couldn't possibly happen but they did happen in the last two years.

Japan has had the capability to produce a nuclear weapon, and the missiles to carry within days, since at least the mid-90’s, when it became clear that the U.S. could not be counted on to uphold the defense treaties while a Democrat is in office.

2
GameOnGlobalists 2 points ago +3 / -1

Thank you. Are you able to share a reliable (non-MSM) source to learn a little more about this from?

7
rubberkidney 7 points ago +7 / -0

china is a culture based on shortcuts and cheating. they produce defective crap and are not particularly disciplined as a people.

japans culture is based on perfection and honor. if they faced an existential threat from china they would unify quickly like very few countries can and be 1000x more effective in combat than the paper military from china.

as evil as they were in wwII they at least proved themselves to be exceptionally tenacious and hard working. china has always been a turd that ends up defeating itself.

Simple_Doot 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't know man, manufacturing a virus that gave them the capability to rig an election in the most powerful country in the world, crush the economies of all their biggest competitors and destroy their enemy (USA) from the inside out while barely lifting a finger is pretty impressive. They've already won the war and will rise as THE global super power within the decade.

Macynda 9 points ago +9 / -0

Taiwan needs to level every fab on that island if China invades. Leave no chips behind.

8
Liberty4All 8 points ago +8 / -0

As much as that would really, really suck for the whole world, I hope they do. China should not be allowed to just take most of the world's chip industry.

2
Donkeyballs 2 points ago +2 / -0

I should had prefaced the statement with …. Pedo Joe will order…

4
Herpawinski 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's mostly bluster. The current alliance has enough firepower to decimate China. A lot of what China has been doing has been to try to weaken that alliance. So that means China is aware that alliance is currently enough. I can't speak for what Potatus would really do if China attempted to annex Taiwan.

2
Wintergreen 2 points ago +2 / -0

The Tawainese have more advanced fighters than China. If a commie jet flies over Taiwan escort it back to the shithole it belongs to immediately. If the commie jet tries anything cute, shoot it out of the sky.

2
npc_NULL 2 points ago +2 / -0

rip "made in taiwan"

2
Tcrlaf1 2 points ago +2 / -0

Better send pilots and planes they don’t mind losing, Taiwan is not unprepared.

1
morememesplz 1 point ago +1 / -0

China does not mind losing ANY pilots. That's the thing when you have 1 billion subjects to toss to the frontline.

1
Tcrlaf1 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not true… Unlike Infantry, it takes YEARS to train up an experienced combat pilot to be efficient, 3-4 years, a minimum of 18 months, even for lesser planes. Believe it or not, that number has not changed since before WW2. The Germans and Japanese learned that the hard way. By the end of the war, they were throwing up kids that could barely land with only 6-7 hours of training, as cannon fodder.

For comparison, the average U.S. pilot had 250 hours of flight training, before being sent into combat.

2
ARfreedom 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sorry Taiwan, we got too much shit here we got to fix before going to war again.

3
rubberkidney 3 points ago +3 / -0

eh cant agree with this one. if china starts making moves like that it will be imperative that the world puts an end to that shit immediately.

1
ARfreedom 1 point ago +1 / -0

The world can put an end to it, but the world never will. If the world was going to fight China, the EU would have joined the USA in fighting their trade manipulations and IP stealing. Sadly the EU did not. At best the EU did nothing, closer to reality the EU worked to make the USA's efforts harder and less effective. The EU also could do just about anything to combat Russia, but they don't, and instead they actively drink from Russia's brand new oil pipeline cock.

Is India going to help Taiwan? How about South Korea, they going to send any troops? I'm sure the Taliban will step right up to help Taiwan.

Right now the USA is the only power that could stand to China, maybe Russia, but I honestly doubt they could without relying on their nukes. Sadly for the world the USA needs to get its own house in order before jumping into another war on foreign soil.

How does a man get Stickied around here?

-6
mjw2006 -6 points ago +3 / -9

We should stay out of it - we have no interest there nor does our current military have the will to fight and win- they're losers. If theres no change in the senior leadership of the military we should de-fund it . Hell they gave away half our shit to the enemy anyway. No more wars and cut the fucking military budget in half until they grow a pair.

14
DestroyerofCobwebs 14 points ago +14 / -0

In an ideal world, you'd be right.

This is not an ideal world.

Know that chip shortage we've all been suffering through, and how it's lead to empty car lots, years log backorder for medical equipment, can't get your air conditioner fixed, etc?

Know where a whole shitload of those chips come from? Taiwan. It's regrettable, but we have let ourselves be in the situation of having Taiwan not just be an ally, but also a vital national security interest.

10
Liberty4All 10 points ago +10 / -0

This. We are screwed if we let China take Taiwan.

3
mjw2006 3 points ago +5 / -2

For the time being we're just going to have to buy the chips from China - theres no way to stop them for taking Taiwan.. Everything from equipment , human behavior/ motivation, skill sets - the Chinese clearly have an edge. naval assets exceed our best carrier groups - ground assets in the China Sea islands that they have built up have air defenses that will hit anything we throw at the mainland. And now they have access to our current aviation assets to include drone technology (thanks Joe) and are moving into our bases in Afghanistan so forget about any attacks from the west. Yeah were fucked.

2
EvilGuy 2 points ago +2 / -0

China is full of bullshit. They have no battle trained troops at all. What's the last actual war they have fought? They have a bunch of 2nd rate shit used by people that have never actually fought a war.

Honestly the only way China takes Taiwan is with Biden's blessing.

2
tasmaniantiger 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yep. China has the number but their troops suck and their combat record overall for last what....200 years is not impressive.

They excel at thievery, bribery and corruption though.

Hopefully when Trump gets back in we will reestablish a manufacturing base in the USA, become energy independent again, deport illegals , jail the criminals, rebuild the wall and finally stay the hell out of other countries affairs.

3
GoldenPlains 3 points ago +3 / -0

Can we not make cars without chips?

-1
DestroyerofCobwebs -1 points ago +2 / -3

Not if you want fuel injection.

75% of the people in this country would starve to death if they had to drive a car with a carbureted engine.

3
GoldenPlains 3 points ago +3 / -0

What are you saying that people died by starvation before the invention of fuel injection? Maybe if instead of pumping our cars full of electronic junk we just go back to a more basic construction.

People seem to want to progress technology for the sake of progressing technology. No one considers the downsides or negative consequences of adopting technology. It is like this over-reliance on just in time delivery systems. One big event and it fucks everything up for years and years. Impacting millions and millions of people.

-2
DestroyerofCobwebs -2 points ago +1 / -3

Have you ever driven a car with a carb?

4
GoldenPlains 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes, in fact my car right now has one.

-2
DestroyerofCobwebs -2 points ago +1 / -3

Congratulations, you represent a tiny minority of car owners . The average driver today wouldn't have the slightest idea what to do with a choke, or how frequently many carbed cars need routine maintenance.

You like old school. Great. Most people today don't want anything to do with it, because while some of the stuff built in to cars today is extraneous, a whole lot of the advancement we've seen over the last 40 years has just made better cars. Much better. Thanks to EFI, and computerized transmissions, our cars today get way better gas mileage than they did back in the carb days, and are more powerful to boot. Not to mention being safer thanks to airbags (more chips).

We DO have an obligation there. We gave it to Japan by approved treaty in return for the Japanese only having defensive armed forces.
