Good for you, but outliers don't invalidate the rule. It is a fact that young people generally don't have a good defense mechanism against utopian thinking. Even though it's fundamentally incorrect, it still capitalises on powerful human desires, and teens/young adults for the most part have no clue what drives them yet.
I propose that we stop propagating it as a rule. I don't see anything at all utopian about socialism or communism. I never have. I think the meme that "it would work in a utopian society" is bullshit that pushes it as a good idea when it is literally an evil, unethical idea.
