Its not hypocritical in this case because Obama was an outgoing president, Trump can still have another term. Additionally in Obama's case the opposition party had control of the senate, in Trump's case his own party does.
There is not good faith anymore between the two parties in senate or anywhere else. It's an open war. We saw it with their behavior in the last nomination and with the Russia hoax.
