This. Shop local. Ebay and craigslist are your friends.

Forty_Five 46 points ago +47 / -1

ebay is just as woke as Amazon. I still buy from both tho so I'm part of the problem. I really hope Lindell's site takes off. I should really start checking there first.

Pro ebay seller here: ebay's main issue is their high level corruption, they harrass and threaten people who speak out against ebay. High level company leadership have gone to jail for it now. Twice.

4
Libertardian 4 points ago +4 / -0

I try hard to buy from you guys on Ebay. Yes, Ebay is taking a cut, but at least the "little guy" is getting the money, rather than Amazon.

5
flirp 5 points ago +5 / -0

Dang, I wanted to order these Klippy things on that mystore and they wanted $10 to ship small items that were $2 a piece. If it was like $3 shipping I'd be alright. Lots of cool gift ideas though. Thanks for letting me know of this!

7
NZbacon 7 points ago +7 / -0

They're making money off shipping instead of the product.

Terrible practice imo.

GPan1776 3 points ago +3 / -0

Also, Amazon has discounts worked out with USPS and UPS. So your tax dollars are helping Bezos. I'm pretty sure FedEx told Amazon to fuck off.

Agree, but eBay is making it harder and harder to work with them...

DuckDuckGo uses Amazon Web Services. Use Brave with their new search engine or startpage.

Brave is using a DDG search engine for now while they develop their own. Can't come soon enough. Big Tech can eat a d*ck.

5
acasper 5 points ago +5 / -0

Already released. Search.brave.com

2
blunderguffin 2 points ago +2 / -0

Their engine isn't ready yet. Check the route and you'll see that they query a DDG engine still. The web site address doesn't matter. I use Brave for my searches, but am honest to myself about where the results are coming from.

2
acasper 2 points ago +2 / -0

"Brave Search beta is based on an independent index, the first of its kind. However, for some queries, Brave can anonymously check our search results against third-party results, and mix them on the results page. This mixing is a means-to-an-end toward 100% independence. For full transparency and to measure Brave’s progress toward that goal, Brave provides a “Results independence” metric. This anonymous calculation shows the % of search results that come from Brave versus these third parties. Note that no matter the independence metric, your privacy will always be 100%."

They do indicate when results are not from the independent index and include mixed results.

Search.brave.com

3
Vermino 3 points ago +3 / -0

Searx is the best way. You can even create a server to host your own Searx app for search engine metadata.

2
acasper 2 points ago +2 / -0

Kind of a pain in the ass but I could see communities doing this. Something like the community all chipping in within a neighborhood to provide access to self-hosted trustless services (email/messages/etc).

6
Vermino 6 points ago +6 / -0

I am actually moving our whole family over to a NAS for cloud photo storage as well as passwords security. Plus pi-hole blocks ads right at router level.

Also FOSS (free open source software) buying the wife a system76 laptop as Apple is going to spy on our photos to catch pedos.

Time to start taking our privacy seriously and keep it under lock and key.

Its inconvenient to get it all setup but worth it knowing your smart tv isn't sending outbound data to advertisers or apple looking through your photos or google scanning your documents and emails.

Shit! You were the guy that posted that amazing thread on privacy. I saved it here but then it was gone after a month!

Going to copy this to my notepad.

New and improved version lol

Also, if you go the NextCloud route check out:

Very easy setup and management.

3
ReanuKeeves 3 points ago +3 / -0

I notice Zoho not there for any of Email, Chat, Password Managers, Media Editing. Are they bad for privacy or one of those censoring big tech related companies?

3
acasper 3 points ago +3 / -0

That wasn't intentional, I just don't have strong feelings about them either way at the moment. From a cursory review of their policies does look like they respect user privacy, but I'm biased against centralized services. Should they be on the list and why?

2
Vermino 2 points ago +2 / -0

My experience with our business in never centralize to one service/product. Did that with google domains, google workspace, and YouTube. When we got malware on our website, we received over 157 strikes on our YouTube channel, our domain was threaten to be removed, and put on spamhaus (for email blacklisting).

Moral of the story, gotta keep'em separate (even though I love Zoho marketing SaaS)

Is there a website for buying made in America good that doesn't function like it was created in the 90s?

5
PensivePatriot 5 points ago +5 / -0

There’s a chrome extension that shows you American owned products on Amazon, and shows the country of origin for the item you’re looking at.

I forget the name of it, but it started with a C.

Edit: It’s called Cultivate.

GR-Abass 17 points ago +17 / -0

This is the way. I deleted my Amazon account in June of 2020 after Bezos said he was "happy to lose" customers who won't suck BLM's dick. Although I'm sure walking away made me even happier, knowing I'm no longer supporting another evil lefty elitist pile of shit.

I used Walmart.com for a while, until they joined the ranks of vax-hole corporations that force their employees to take the death jab. I guess eBay is still OK, but I won't pay with PayPal anymore.

doug2 -6 points ago +1 / -7

Sounds like an utterly absurd and complicated way to exist.

8
Myzlplix 8 points ago +8 / -0

how lazy are you that you can't take two seconds to use an alternative? I haven't used amazon or paypal for over a year and it made my life zero percent more complicated

7
GrovPortion 7 points ago +7 / -0

I agree. Stop the excessive need to buy things all the time. If you do need something find it locally.

Letting your money pile up isn't a bad thing, you don't have to hit zero on your bank account just before the next paycheck.

The only way we damage big corp is by changing the lazy and needy lifestyles they've tapped into.

2
deleted 2 points ago +3 / -1
1
GR-Abass 1 point ago +1 / -0

What I consider "absurd" is giving money to corporations that despise me and my way of life. What possible sense does that make?

Furthermore I've never felt inconvenienced by boycotting them. There are always alternatives, none of which I've found to be "complicated" in the least.

17
shaven_llama 17 points ago +17 / -0

My Amazon prime just came up for renewal. Cancelled it.

11
fauxgnaws 11 points ago +11 / -0

You're not getting free shipping anyway -- every product has the shipping cost included.

For example try buying a single bag of ramen... $6 instead of 60 cents because the shipping is already baked in. Prime just gets you in the front of the loading dock and you don't have a $25 minimum order.

5
doug2 5 points ago +5 / -0

In front of a loading dock with everyone else lol

2
80960KA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Pretty much every grocery item is spectacularly overpriced on amazon, I think it goes deeper than just baked in shipping because you don't see a huge differential between prime and ebay or harbor freight on things like electronic supplies/consumables and tools.

Order a bunch of heavy canned food, then request a refund once your get it. Canned food is non-returnable, so they will issue a refund and tell you to keep it. Donate to a food bank on Jeff's dime. Rinse and repeat. 😎👍

4
DCdeplorable 4 points ago +4 / -0

Jeff bezos downvoted you lol. How many times can you get away with that before they ban you?

Just the right amount of times.

Good advice, thank you!

10
TopperBlack 10 points ago +11 / -1

I did this earlier in Australia and got a shocking result.

"Sorry we can't match that price because Amazon covers our delivery when we sell through them. If you want to buy directly from us, you'll have to pay an extra $15"

Can't remember how much extra, but enough for me to be annoyed.

8
citydwellertrumpfan 8 points ago +8 / -0

Same here, a book was actually cheaper on Amazon than to buy direct from the publisher, even without shipping. Which is hard to believe considering the enormous cut Amazon takes from sales (about a third or more if FBA is used).

5
80960KA 5 points ago +5 / -0

Having your own fulfillment center costs a lot, building one from scratch costs even more. Amazon's services aren't cheap, but for smaller scale it often makes sense. Same thing applies to AWS.

4
texas4ever 4 points ago +4 / -0

We have our own fulfillment center and it's much cheaper to run.

3
80960KA 3 points ago +3 / -0

What's the scale and how long ago was the investment...

1
texas4ever 1 point ago +1 / -0

Close to 10k square feet. You don't even have to invest at first, you can rent warehouse space. Amazon is very strong on the marketing side, but their fulfillment is much more expensive than doing it yourself.

4
Inquisitor_Corvus 4 points ago +4 / -0

Well, shit. Guess I’ll have to pay more then.

3
TopperBlack 3 points ago +3 / -0

I've done it with Ebay and had success. Most recently saved about $100 by going to the guys website instead.

3
Winner45 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah sellers want Amazon ratings so they want you to buy through Amazon. A friend published a book and he wanted me to buy through Amazon just for the algorithm. I went to Barnes and noble.

8
rebelde_sin_causa 8 points ago +9 / -1

I've never bought a single thing through or from Amazon

it's not difficult

7
Vlad_The_Impaler 7 points ago +8 / -1

Why not create a conservative based group that networks business owners and helps sell their products?

Sort of an Angies List / Craigslist for pedes.

Upon meeting to exchange the item for cash, both members must say "Trump won" and adorn MAGA hats or else the exchange is canceled. This will help prevent commies from infiltrating our private economy.

2
anewpatriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

My wife and I always talk about this. This is the type of stuff we need.

7
AlpineSeaHolly 7 points ago +7 / -0

I just cancelled an order and purchased directly from the company's website. Cost me $5 more but that's a freedom tax I'm willing to pay. Free shipping included like you said.

Yup, I’ve not shopped with Amazon in over a year. Can’t say that I’ve missed it at all. And, most of my packages actually arrive faster now than when I ordered from Amazon.

6
plasssticman 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yep - I use amazon to find suppliers of things I'm looking for and then purchase direct. I tell the vendor.

Use their resources against them.

5

A ton of “companies” on Amazon just buy cheap Chinese alibaba junk and re-brand it under an English name.

1
BeefyBelisarius 1 point ago +1 / -0

In those cases, check aliexpress or wish. Same cheap Chinese junk as Amazon, but usually cheaper.

5
Covidkid 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yes, I usually buy direct now or support small retail stores that stock the product. Screw Amazon. Communist incel.

5
brotatofarmer 5 points ago +7 / -2

Spoiler alert you retard, duckduckgo supported privacy until it was a matter of "racism", they turned over evidence for people moving about on January 6th and were pro Floyd and are anti conservative.

I'm still gonna shop at Amazon because it don't fucking matter. My life becoming inconvenienced because I gotta "stick it to the man" doesn't stop the woke brigade from ruining movies, it doesn't stop gillette from telling me I'm toxic, and it sure as shit won't put Trump back in office.

This shit is retarded.

4

this. until theres an america-first ISP it's a whole rabbit hole/pyramid of shitty wokeness

1
UnitedStatesofSmash 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yup. This shit is stupid. Why boycott using Amazon when you're going to pay for shit with your woke ass Visa/MC on your Google/Apple mobile OS or Microsoft PC? Let me guess, all these fuckers NEVER go out to eat either, stop at a convenience store, and they all make their own clothes, too. A large portion of the shit people own and use are made by companies full of woke fucktards.

People are just buying from other sites and selling on amazon. They will buy off walmart and just ship to you for 5-10 bux more.

Crazy all the price compare websites no longer exist.

3

I've noticed a few times when doing this, the package still comes from Amazon.

3
mercynurse 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yep. I do this all the time. Amazon prices are insanely higher.

3
CrocodileBeers 3 points ago +3 / -0

Unfortunately it’s not always that simple. I’ve tried this before and had trouble with their websites. I’ll place orders and email two weeks later to find that they forgot to ship. Ordered the same thing from Amazon and that one arrived before the one I had ordered almost a month prior.

Some of these businesses rely on Amazon’s infrastructure to do business properly, because they are simply not capable on their own. And it usually costs more, despite the fact that Amazon isn’t taking a cut on their site, because their shipping costs aren’t subsidized by a subscription service.

What we really need is our own Amazon. Until then, do your best to support local and small businesses as best you can, and for the things you must get from Amazon, use AmazonSmile and make sure you choose Project Veritas as the charity that a portion of your purchases are donated to.

3
RobinNet 3 points ago +3 / -0

I use Amazon for product reviews, then buy it somewhere else.

3
Parhelion12 3 points ago +3 / -0

I already do this.

2
Underpants 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've been doing A LOT of this lately. Amazon quietly dropped "2 day shipping" for prime customers, and because of Amazon, MOST sellers have started shipping things pretty quickly.

Shit, I saved 30 dollars on an item today ordering it direct from the manufacturer instead of on Amazon from the same seller (soft start for an RV air conditioner.)

Sometimes I'm willing to pay the tax when it gets here quickly... but hell, even stuff that's supposed to be same day or next day... it will be "out for delivery" and then be 4 days late.

Remind me why I'm even paying for Prime?

2
PrincessPePeia 2 points ago +2 / -0

Check out shoptotheright.com as well.

2
LowKeyPede 2 points ago +2 / -0

I stopped Prime. The withdrawal from instant gratification hurt for about four weeks. But I don't miss it at all now and have saved a lot of money. If I need something, I can find it somewhere locally or I can still get quick free shipping from Amazon if needed (quarterly if that). Dump them!!!!

2
based_trekkie 2 points ago +2 / -0

Mike Lindell should form a payment processor/order company that will take the place of amazon for these people and shave LESS off the top and snipe the money from amazon!

Fuck Amazon!

2
jigglyp33n 2 points ago +2 / -0

This works, but I stopped even using the Amazon search engine. It's full of cheap Chinese garbages.

2
Oppenheimer_DOW 2 points ago +2 / -0

I cancelled my account about a year ago

2
doug2 2 points ago +2 / -0

2-8 days vs before you wipe your ass... I never use Amazon btw I'm just saying... dumb meme

2
Keith 2 points ago +2 / -0

So I bought some cheap $15 sunglasses off amzn. The seller does private label. Chinese factory makes them it includes sunglasses case wrapped in plastic. Sunglasses in a box wrapped in plastic. More useless paperwork a soft sunglasses case and wipe cloth. Also void fill air pillows made of plastic made by a machine using Electricity. It all came from china on container ships. It's thrown on a million usps and ups trucks flying around your neighborhood 7 days a week now and if shipped by USPS the shipment gets subsidized almost 50% by taxpayer funds while amazon pays little to no tax.

2
shadows_of_the_mind 2 points ago +2 / -0

Prime isn’t even worth it anymore. Their same day delivery or even 1-2 day deliveries are hardly happening anymore. Between the labor shortages and supply shortages and inflation it’s fucking up their entire business model. You probably will save money shopping offsite from Amazon now.

2
Llanos 2 points ago +2 / -0

Dropped Amazon the same day they shut down Parler.

2
javulas 2 points ago +2 / -0

I use a search engine called Presearch. It's decentralized. Can log in and earn a crypto while you use their engine kinda like you can on Odysee but I'm not doing that lol

2
slimcoat 2 points ago +2 / -0

You can also find out which companies don't deserve your business. I followed this method and bought a product direct from a company's site, they took my money but had shipping problems. Instead of working with me on it, they neither refunded nor worked through the shipping problems. Just kept the money.

I imagine they just rely on Amazon for customer service. A company that doesn't provide customer service is crap.

2
walmartsux 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have not shopped at walmart or amazon any this year also no china made since 2019 and no target from WAY back. Also fuck coca cola

1
NoMoreMeanTweets 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm finding that Amazon is not always the cheapest like it used to be 10 years ago.

I just bought a shirt that normally goes for $15 on Amazon directly from the shipper on their site for $6. Even my protein powder was $5 cheaper on the manufacturer website and I got a free gift.

1
Poopybuttboy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fuck paypal too and fuck typing your CC info into hundreds of different databases that will inevitably be hacked. USE PRIVACY.COM. It allows you to make multiple CC's with varying monthly limits. If your CC gets compromised you can just delete that fake card and make a new one.

1
Kaisgrammy 1 point ago +1 / -0

You can do this at Walmart too…

1
Gmelindag 1 point ago +1 / -0

I stopped shopping Amazon over a year ago! I guess I fell in hard for the quick and easy shipping and low prices! In December I did not buy one gift from Amazon or from Walmart! These are both companies that are enriching the CCP! I did buy my pillows for everybody in my family on Donald Trump’s birthday June 14, 2021! Christmas is for Christ not for Hollywood nor for the mall!

1
Xavier 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have not had much luck trying to get stuff outside of Amazon from vendors that I find on Amazon.

One of the times I tried I paid more for a product on eBay... only to be dropshipped a fucking Amazon package.
