I think Cooksey nuked Social Media: "I conclude Twitter is a publisher with a First Amendment right to control the content on its platform and to favor or disfavor certain speech and speakers,"

7
ChuckedBeef 7 points ago +7 / -0

Great, then they are open for lawsuits like every other publisher and should lose their section 230 immunity.

Indeed. If Cooksey believes Twatter is a Publisher, then by LAW they can be SUED by anyone for anything. Just like a magazine or, as stated, ANY OTHER PUBLISHER. Section 230 protection no longer applies when they are a PUBLISHER. Boom.

I hope Project Veritas jumps on this.

I think DeSantis is great and could be a better Trump but honestly I don't think he has the star power or leader power to take the spotlight (votes) from Trump in 2024, that's why I think Trump is still the best choice for 2024, if you want to have a chance with the rigged elections. If the elections weren't rigged maybe DeSantis would win but if things remain the same Trump could still win despite the cheating, like he did in 2016.

3
dahdahdah_dahditdah 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think DeSantis is great and could be a better Trump

DeSantis is building credibility and that's great. The leadership of the Republican Party is still Donald Trump's to take or decline in 2024.

(And before somebody gets all up on my back: yes, we do need to do everything we can to fix 2020. However we need to fight on all fronts, which includes gearing up for 2024.)

3
SininStyle 3 points ago +4 / -1

DeSantis is a politician. We can resort to that after Trump kicks in the door with a no fear 2nd term. I want to see what he does when he doesn't have to worry about reelection. 500 miles of wall and stay out immigration while worried about votes later. Without the chain, mad dog gonna make a mess and I am all for it. THEN roll DeSantis to play the politics and work across the isle, all that nonsense.

My way of thinking could be wrong, yet I don't give a shit. Let the bodies hit the floor.

1
NoCoupForYou 1 point ago +1 / -0

Getting rid of Bannon was Trump's biggest mistake.

Bannon should have been Chief of Staff, whose main job is to keep cucks and false friends from getting time to bend Trump's ear with Bullshit.

3

Not saying we need that kind of fued/mudslinging but DeSantis has some serious chips he can play

Here is the ultimate truth: NO one will save us but ourselves.

The people in leadership are all talk or all part of the cabal. They pander to us and have the right people in place to say the right things to keep us forever waiting.

The hope is that their push for the vaccinate will backfire so hard it'll run them out to the point they can't really enjoy life since they've imprisoned the compliant sheep that froth from the mouth obeying them.

DontDoxMeBro1 1 point ago +2 / -1

Ya no idea. Trump did alot of good and also fucked up alot. He never ever ever should have fired flynn, Bannon. He was really manipulate. He had literally zero understanding how the deep state worked.

Buuuuut... Trump woke up so many ppl. My God he did so well with that. He essentially helped raise an army worldwide. And if Trump didn't have the chains on and had another 4 yrs he would have brought manufacturing back in a big way.

We have been controlled by the deep state for a very long time. We had a small gap that helped so many wake up worldwide. If anything at all. Trump did this magnificently.

2
VoteCyborgTrump2040 2 points ago +3 / -1

I am one of these people that was basically awakened by Trump. First it was by the feminist lies that Obama was repeating in the yeas before Trump. Things I knew were false, and obviously false, like the wage gap myth being repeated by Obama. That was probably my first real red pill, to see the president of the USA repeating blatant lies that have been debunked for decades. Then it was Julian Assange and the DNC/Podesta leaks, and then the Trump phenomenon.

Now I'm pretty black pilled though, with the occasional spark of hope.

You: Saying and doing are different.

"I conclude Twitter is a publisher with a First Amendment right to control the content on its platform and to favor or disfavor certain speech and speakers," Cooksey, a former aide to Twitter critics Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), wrote.

12
AllTheWayTrump 12 points ago +12 / -0

Shouldn't that disqualify them from being protected by Section 230?

5
SininStyle 5 points ago +5 / -0

would open them up to lawsuits about literally everything said on the platform.

5
rylinm 5 points ago +5 / -0

... and that right there is the actual play. Now there's governmental precedent, citeable in lawmaking or court, that indicates they are not/should not be 230 immune. This is exactly what Hawley has been pushing for all along.

5
maga_mama_757 5 points ago +5 / -0

I would think so.

4
IncredibleMrE1 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes.

2
BreadPitt 2 points ago +2 / -0

beat me to the post. That was my take away was the government just declared twitter (and the rest of social media by logical extension) to be publishers. Ergo, trump can now sue them for every libelous and slanderous utterance ever published about him, regardless of who said it.

2
pepesbiceps 2 points ago +2 / -0

He's right. The solution is to leave twitter and support platforms that don't censor like Gab. Imagine if government can control what and what not twitter does, then it can do even worse to gab.

2
VoteCyborgTrump2040 2 points ago +4 / -2

Here's the problem. And you won't believe me, most likely, but I'm going to try to explain.

In the event that Gab became a real threat to the oligopoly of social media, they would absolutely destroy it in any number of ways. Fake indictments. Infiltrate the company and capture it. Flood the website with illegal content and get them in legal trouble, make false rape accusations, etc. Probably would do many things that we can't even think up. The more of a threat they became, the crazier things would get against them. Look at Trump as the example. The more of a threat he became, the more they ramped up their insanity up to literally committing treason.

They will not let you make real competition to any of their companies. You have to understand this. The free market solution is an illusion. It is not possible within a society so corrupt. They squash any real competition and destroy it utterly.

4
DontDoxMeBro1 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is spot on. Blackmail, death threats, and being ruined legally in an endless line of lawsuits, aka getting Flynn'd. And lastly if you are still being a pest, death by suicide.

1
dahdahdah_dahditdah 1 point ago +2 / -1

Then build another Gab. Whoever keeps fighting the longest wins.

1
VoteCyborgTrump2040 1 point ago +1 / -0

No, whoever controls all the military, media, corporations, etc. is the one who wins. Hence why they're winning.

1
pepesbiceps 1 point ago +2 / -1

The free market solution is not an illusion LMAO. Do you hear yourself? You're suggesting that government should maintain control in some manner or another over twitter in terms of who can post what, or what exactly I don't even know! And then you suggest that that same government will come up with false accusations and drive narratives to oppositions.

What the hell are you even saying? Hey, whatever they tried to pull on Trump, he still won and became president. He's still around. He's still fighting.

If society is corrupt, fight back, at a local level, and call for freedom, not control. And don't be naiive in thinking that you at the helm of the control will somehow restore some kind of balance. The only solution is freedom and decentralization.

0
VoteCyborgTrump2040 0 points ago +1 / -1

No, I didn't suggest anything like that. I think you might be retarded. The answer to a completely corrupt system is certainly not to give it more power. I don't know how you came to that conclusion from what I wrote.

What I'm saying is that you can't beat Twitter while these demonic scumbags are in power. Any alternative that becomes successful will be targeted and destroyed. The only reason Gab is allowed to exist is because it's not really a threat to them yet. If people started the mass exodus from Facebook and Twitter, Gab would be absolutely annihilated.

We also have Wikileaks emails detailing their plans with Trump. They didn't take him seriously. They amplified him on purpose. He was a "pied piper candidate". Apparently you don't read very well, or you'd have known this.

0
pepesbiceps 0 points ago +1 / -1

No, I didn't suggest anything like that. I think you might be retarded.

Ah yes, start the denigration.

The answer to a completely corrupt system is certainly not to give it more power.

Exactly, and yet this is what you're advocating for, whether you realize it or not. Why would you want government to control what twitter does, who it bans, who it shadow bans, whose posts it deletes, etc.?

Remember, you asserted that the free market is not a solution. So what is your solution? You clearly are not in favor of a free market. So the only possible answer is that you're in favor of government control, in some form or the other. And I'm the retarded one.

The only reason Gab is allowed to exist is because it's not really a threat to them yet.

LMAO. You're delusional. They have their own servers. They have their own ad services. They're building their own parallel economy. I commend them for their work. No one gets to take that away from them.

If people started the mass exodus from Facebook and Twitter, Gab would be absolutely annihilated.

I don't think you're in the tech world, so let me explain this to you: this isn't how it works. New platforms are up and coming all the time, and there is nothing anyone can do to stop a platform from growing. Gab is a snowball, and it's rollin down the hill.

We also have Wikileaks emails detailing their plans with Trump. They didn't take him seriously. They amplified him on purpose. He was a "pied piper candidate". Apparently you don't read very well, or you'd have known this.

I cut my teeth on reddit sharing wikileaks emails. Not sure why you shifted onto this, but never assert things you have no idea about. You're talking with someone that's read the Gulag Archipelago, I doubt you've read 2000 pages of anything.

0
VoteCyborgTrump2040 0 points ago +1 / -1

Exactly, and yet this is what you're advocating for, whether you realize it or not.

No, I'm not. You're just too stupid to understand the implication. The implication is to remove tyrants, not to give the government more regulatory power over Twitter. You are a retarded person. Even after I replied and pointed out to you that that is not what I was saying, you just insist that it was anyway. I think I know what I was implying you fucking mental reject. I wrote my own comment and am privy to my own thoughts.

They have already been attacked many times and in many different ways. If they were to ever become a real competitor to Twitter, they would be squashed via many of the methods I just told you about. Where is their protection against false allegations and a corrupt judicial system indicting and convicting them for crimes?

New platforms come up all the time and are squashed all the time, and none of them have ever rivaled any of the giants like Facebook, Google, and Twitter. Like, not even close. Even all of them combined do not compete.

You're talking with someone that's read the Gulag Archipelago

Wish I had read this last part first to confirm that you're a troll. Oh well, might as well publish the comment since I wrote it already.

1
pepesbiceps 1 point ago +1 / -0

Buddy, you wrote, and I quote "the free market is an illusion". You believe our society is so corrupted that we cannot possibly host any free markets. If you truly believe so, you would gather your arms, gather resources, form an army and fight. But you're on patriots.win freely spewing your opinions instead. So get off your high horse, sit you ass back down, and commend the free market.

You're likely young and therefore you're naiive beyond comprehension. You don't realize that there have been giants before Google Facebook and Twitter, and there will be giants long after they're gone, and they will be gone. It's not a matter of if, but when.

They may not be permanently gone in our lifetimes, but they sure as shit can become irrelevant, and it can happen so fast your head will spin. But the only way for that to occur is for people like you and I to support and commend the free market, not sit back and call what we don't understand as illusionary or a mirage.

People need to get it through their thick skulls, either we want freedom, or we want big daddy government to protect us from that freedom. You dislike the platform, go to gab, build your own based on ZERO CENSORSHIP! Stop giving twitter, fb, and any other shit platform all this power over you.

2

While I agree with most of what you say, a lot of it works better in theory than in reality. Create your own platform or publisher! Create your own airline. Create your own power company. So Twitter gets away with it again because all the institutions of government are in on it.

The Democrats have grown to rely on Twitter. Jack Dorsey will only answer to God when it’s all said and done.

I think they got this right... The END RESULT isn't what we want to see, but it's the right decision.

The issue is that these companies have become the "Town Square" for communication, and as such, they're not "Publishers", but are actually facilitators of free speech communications - i.e. Public Utilities, and therefore would not be exempt by section 230. Our efforts should be focused on moving Publishers off of 230 - those who would be considered facilitators of public debate, and are using their power to silence free speech within that debate.

A private publisher does and should have this ability, this is literally the definition of free speech, to shape and push a narrative is publishing an opinion.

This is the WRONG argument to have regarding twitter.. It should be, "Is twitter acting as a state actor?" and "Is twitter really a public utility, rather than a private publisher". Once you move twitter out from under 230, things can change.. Not before then. Our problem is they state they're publishing, but to everyone it appears they're playing both sides of the fence - being a speech platform and a publisher at the same time.

The only thing we can do RIGHT NOW, is educate people to stop using them and move to something else.

I conclude Twitter is a publisher with a First Amendment right to control the content on its platform and to favor or disfavor certain speech and speakers," Cooksey wrote.

Dealing with hopeless corruption is the same as dealing with a dictatorship. The answer is civil resistance theory. https://patriots.win/p/13zMe9r6wh/civil-resistance-tactics-its-not/ The first step is to learn about this and spread the knowledge around.

A map of Twitters cloud server infrastructure (physical addresses) is needed.

With this map, we can organize protests to prevent employee access to these centers. Cloud servers require CONSTANT maintenance by highly skilled and unskilled labor, deliveries and logistics of specialty manufactured goods.

Twitter is NOTHING without its 99.99% network uptime.

If they deny us a voice, we should protest to deny them access to the market.

Trump was impeached for encouraging Ukraine to look into flagrant corruption by Hunter Biden.

And yet Twitter is NOT being political when they hide Hunter Biden's criminality.

Add it to the long and growing list of commie lies and corruption. The rent will come due for the commies on all that some day.

The Dems investigated charges of Dem partisanship by solidly Dem-staffed, Dem-supporting, and Dem-contributing companies and have found no actionable impropriety.

AppalachianTactical 2 points ago +2 / -0

Problem is the swamp is so big that the entire pool of people to choose from they are all corrupt. Hopefully Trump has learned that. I still wont vote anyone else because Trump did help us get people like MTG and Boebert eho i have full confidence would get shit done if theu had more reps voting with them.

Will they be the same after being on office for a few terms? I dunno, if they start being weak and just paying lip service then they will have to be replaced.

one flaw in our system is the primary system. They shouldnt be overseen by the party. Im not sure who should but they can rig before it ever gets to election.

All these dickheads are accomplishing is proving to all of us that our government is corrupt beyond salvaging, and should be abolished and replaced with a better [Constitutional] system.

And yes, WE THE PEOPLE do have the writ powers to do this.

Howley was a hawk on Chyna and now he has sunk into the swamp. He is controlled opposition at this point and they got to him and he is one of them. Not many left and it really is just a matter of time where they are bought and sold by the left and Deep State. Another one bites the dust, the Republican Party dies before our eyes.

Hey now, just because Twitter completely blocked people from sharing a story that was damaging to the Democrat candidate - a story which many after the fact had said would've changed the way they voted if they had known about it - while happily allowing unsubstantiated stories damaging to the Democrats' political opposition to propagate, doesn't mean that Twitter was aiding the Democrats! /s

FollowTheCrumbs 2 points ago +2 / -0

We all hate Twitter and clearly what Twitter did with censoring the Hunter stories was bullshit, but you have to look at the complaint they were reviewing and not just read article headlines.

The FEC reviewed a complaint from the RNC that the Hunter censorship should be considered a monetary campaign contribution. The article is clear that the FEC has never ruled that it was in any previous complaint. And it wasn’t just Cooksey who ruled this way, yet people seem to only be attacking him in this thread.
