pro tip: never show a pic of your pride and joy on a public forum with the serial number visible.

And an unauthorized use of a government agency logo, which is one of the charges against ppl forging the vax cards.

3
Rainman 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes that's the "gotcha" for faking a card, it's essentially a trademark infringement but using a fake card to fly or obtain federal government benefits, jobs, contracts is far more serious and you know the fed will throw you in jail because wrong think

Considering I found this on Telegram, yeah its just a meme I shared.

I have photos of my guns, but none on the internet, or even an internet connected device.

I hear this every time a gun pic gets posted and the explanations for why make no sense to me. In order for the feds to figure out who you are by the serial number of the gun they would already have a list of the serial numbers of the guns you own. What difference would a picture make at that point? Then others say that some random person could report the gun stolen and I’ve never heard of a case where that ever happened and I still don’t really understand how that would even work.

10
quantumwannabe 10 points ago +11 / -1

No they don’t. Every single background check form contains the serial numbers of the guns purchased. While it is illegal for the ATF to use them as a registry, they most definitely are. The form was changed to put the name and serial number were on the same page, so they only need to take one photo to digitize it. Also, the left is constantly whining about the “gun show loophole” (a.k.a. private sales) and “ghost guns” (a.k.a. unregistered guns: both home built and factory made with the serial number removed), which are the only two things standing in the way of a total registry of every gun sold in the country. If the left gets those two things passed, then they will have a registry of every legal gun in the country; they can trace the serial numbers straight from the manufacturer to the store to you, and you’ll have no excuse they’ll accept for why you don’t have a gun they think you do (private sales are illegal, felony to not report a stolen/lost gun the second after it is stolen/lost, home-built firearms must be registered; all of these are already law in blue states). They may even make it illegal to destroy a gun so you can’t even claim that.

12
AlcoholicRetard 12 points ago +12 / -0

So if they already have a registry and know about every gun you own what difference does a picture make?

8
Darkheartisland 8 points ago +8 / -0

I bet we are all on some list. Ever login from an ip address you pay for?

7
AlcoholicRetard 7 points ago +8 / -1

I’m probably on lots of lists.

11
Inquisitor_Corvus 11 points ago +11 / -0

I’m on all the lists. Well, except the kid fucker one. That list is mostly for politicians.

1
BidenLikesMiners 1 point ago +1 / -0

if geotus had a computer they would have used it on him.

3
POTUS_DonnieJ [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

We’re all on a list for spending time on here. Ever go to GunBroker? On a list. Ever buy “illegal” mods for your car? On a list. Ever submit a 4473? On a list. Got a CPL? On a list.

8
War_Hamster 8 points ago +8 / -0

Yes, and they also already can check every email you send, every text you send, listen in on every phone call, and they're probably reading this comment right this minute in real time. They know what videos you watch and what shows you do or don't watch.

F*ck them.

2
POTUS_DonnieJ [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

If George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, and the rest of the Founding Fathers knew what the government they laid the foundation would become….

7
War_Hamster 7 points ago +7 / -0

They did know. They warned us. We fell asleep at the wheel.

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

-John Adams

Ps. Thanks for not mentioning Hamilton. I loathe that man.

2
POTUS_DonnieJ [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I need to go back and reread the Federalist Papers. My copy has been sitting on the shelf for too long.

4
quantumwannabe 4 points ago +4 / -0

Because now they can look up who you are based off of the picture you post. They might not know who owns your account, but if you post a gun you own and the serial number is visible, you are giving the feds your name and address on a silver platter.

6
AlcoholicRetard 6 points ago +9 / -3

If you don’t think the government already knows who you are online you’re fucking retarded.

4
Jonnylol 4 points ago +4 / -0

Even if that is true, the enormity of the database offers concealment, and the validity of the database can be questioned.

No need to offer corroborating evidence, or draw attention to something that would otherwise be a record in a database no one looks at.

Same thing with online anonymity. It may be relatively easy to guess who someone is with a far reaching database, but you don't need to make it easy and remove all doubt.

4
AttackSquirrel 4 points ago +4 / -0

Which is why you should engrave serial numbers that you find on the interweb memes on all of your ghost guns incase you need to ditch them at a crime scene

1
Forty_Five 1 point ago +1 / -0

Private party sales aren't on their list which is why they're constantly trying to pass laws that force background checks on private sales.

2
TrumpsWall 2 points ago +2 / -0

While that is all true quantum, some have inherited large collections of guns from great grandparents, grandparents and now father that the government know zero about. In addition, private gun sales, including in pickups at parking lot gun-shows are things some people do 🤔. Add 80% lowers, which I’ve heard are. Ok,on, I wouldn’t say the government knows about less than 1% of a certain people’s collection.

4
81MillionMyAss 4 points ago +4 / -0

Information is power, you should always guard it, and never release more than you have to.

1
PraiseBeToScience 1 point ago +1 / -0

Couldn't someone just report it stolen, the serial number gets sent up to ATF, and if the gun is transferred or recovered, now you have issues.

I think.

7
PM_Me_Ur_Weird_Bendy 7 points ago +7 / -0

I dont take pics period, google does sketchy stuff with metadata. Every try using google lens or any of their image recognition APIs? they dont need to look at your pictures they can literally search the term "gun" and see everyone who has taken a picture of a gun. Doesnt even matter if that info is somehow private, one day it may not be and they already have it.

4
MudDog 4 points ago +4 / -0

how else is someone going to return the gun i lost all those years ago in that boating accident if i don't share the serial?

2
Cheddr 2 points ago +2 / -0

Always place an ad in a newspaper or somewhere showing you're selling said firearm. Then claim you sold it. Atleast if you're in a state with no fire arm registry.

Before yall pile on me I'm being semi serious.

Go easy on me, I'm new

1
PraiseBeToScience 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nobody will believe you because nobody has taken out an ad in a newspaper in twelve years.

1
Cheddr 1 point ago +1 / -0

True

27
Merica4EVER 27 points ago +30 / -3

Shouldnt have put the serials because glowie faggots can track you down easily with that lol, thats why everyone reees when they see serial number gun postings here

very nice custom tho

8
AlcoholicRetard 8 points ago +8 / -0

How could they track you down easily? Elaborate.

15
Merica4EVER 15 points ago +15 / -0

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives operates an electronic tracing system, often called eTrace, that is used to find the person who first legally purchased a recovered weapon. The ATF, using the make, model and serial number of the weapon, tracks down the original manufacturer.

They can then find the manufacturer then after that they go through where ever that legal manufacturer sells their fire arms (a list of legal gun stores that sell that specific firearm) They then go through every store to find them. Its a very lengthy process that they usually dont even do unless you're serious person of interest in a fed case.

Law enforcement can only legally use this service when a gun is involved in bona fide criminal investigations.Sep. 21, 2017. So you have to be a very serious person of interest for them to do this.

Basically the ATF faggots are the only ones that can do this like the RCMP here in Canada.

Thats why I always laugh at the people bitching about serial number on this website

8
AlcoholicRetard 8 points ago +10 / -2

Exactly, people are acting like they can just pop the number into a computer and your name spits out, if that’s the case then the picture means nothing, they already have a full list of your guns.

2
Merica4EVER 2 points ago +2 / -0

If the fire arm has been sold since the original buyer, it makes the process even longer

3
Merica4EVER 3 points ago +3 / -0

They didnt even do it for crack head biden throwing a pistol in a garbage can across from a fucking elementary school so they probably dont do it often

or they did and theyre super corrupt and they did nothing

0
Pegstar69 0 points ago +2 / -2

The registration. Y'know, same as your car's VIN #.

1
Merica4EVER 1 point ago +1 / -0

Like unless youve used your gun illegally, and theyre trying to give you FED time you shouldnt even worry

0
Merica4EVER 0 points ago +1 / -1

Again only the ATF have access to this thats why theres so many memes of them killing dogs and shit which theyre honestly notoriously known for with many cases that have had this happen, thats how the meme originated but you're right sort of honestly right dont give the faggots any reason ever

4
Shellingas 4 points ago +4 / -0

The glowie faggots are the real fascists

2
Merica4EVER 2 points ago +3 / -1

They dont even realize it though FUCK the FBI faggots CIA faggots NSA faggots and honestly all alphabet fedbois

we call them fedbois because theyre not real men

3
based_trekkie 3 points ago +3 / -0

What about if you photoshop in different numbers????

Is that a federal crime?

2
Merica4EVER 2 points ago +2 / -0

Technically counts as fraud if you were to be prosecuted, but theres no specific law right now that keeps you from doing that lol.

2
Error404 2 points ago +2 / -0

BIGLY!!!!! Can the slugs have the vaxx proof engraved on em too?

3
ArcanumAbsurdum 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hope he or she never has defend themself in court for smoking a dirtbag. A defense attorney once told me how overzealous prosecutors were using the type of ammo used to attempt to sway juries (hollow points). He said the custom carved Grim Reaper grip-scales on my Kimber were just going to make his job more difficult should I ever have a need for his services. I figured anything I could do to lessen my chances of getting stuck in a cage with a whole lot of dirtbags was worth it so I swapped them out for checkered rosewood. Does anyone remember when the libs were getting worked up over concealed carry insurance a couple of years ago? No Punisher skulls or "Kill em' All" shit on my carry piece for me thanks.

2
POTUS_DonnieJ [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Interesting perspective. Definitely makes sense. All my guns are plain black or black with wood furniture. I’ve been tempted to cerakote one in some WWII bomber theme, but for the price I’ve been quoted, I’d rather just buy more ammo and training.

2
ArcanumAbsurdum 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thank's, that being said, I do love an art gun. I didn't know cerakote was so expensive! $200 for a handgun? Good call on the WWII bomber theme, those men were some incredibly brave souls. I was once allowed to peruse one of the world's largest collections of painted WWII flight jackets, phenomenal art. What was really chilling was the sheer number that had jagged holes and still had the 80 year old blood stains of heros on them, the reason they were not on display. I think my favorite firearm finish, although not the most utilitarian, is the old "Royal Blue" that Colt put on their Python, man that gun is like a Swiss watch, both mechanically and aesthetically speaking. And I love the old surplus Parkerized 1911 I grew up shooting. I still remember my Dad chuckling because my hands didn't have the grip strength to rack the slide because I was so young.

1
POTUS_DonnieJ [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah. Would love to have a gun commemorating them. Theres a guy near me that does a fantastic job. This is one of my favorites that he did recently https://ibb.co/9wZptW7

But $575 for a full AR (not including the optic) is a bit steep considering most of my guns were less than that.
