For those that don't know or have never been, WWE is a great show and they have great guys that perform.

The federation (as it was formally known) ALWAYS brings out a 'bad guy' for the crowd to boo at. Someone will come out at start trashing your city, talking smack to the fans, or in this case, acting like a retarded leftist.

Don't think of it like "WWE is going WOKE", because that's absolutely not what's happening. WWE is just giving the crowd what they want, a retarded leftist to make fun of and yell at.

2
Sansa_Belt 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's a good thing that Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka could fly, and was also in incredible condition, because (when I watched as a kid) he was about as articulate as the future Resident Joe Biden circa 2021.

And as far as the mic goes, Rowdy Roddy Piper was the best of that era.

hulk hogan wasn't bad either.

mav2468 13 points ago +13 / -0

AEW is a leftist company tho

8
StableGeniusNJ 8 points ago +9 / -1

I used to think so, but Jericho is definitely a Trump guy and I suspect Cody secretly is too.

1
Undying 1 point ago +1 / -0

Cody pretends at least to be a lefty.

1
mav2468 1 point ago +1 / -0

Really? Thought Cody and his wife were behind the wokeness.

6
rockaustin 6 points ago +7 / -1

Yet it’s still way better than WWE. I don’t see AEW confiscating signs like WWE does.

6
mav2468 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yeah WWE does suck these days and has for quite some time.

-3
Quality -3 points ago +3 / -6

AEW is professional wrestling without the great characters, great storylines, impressive physiques, masculinity, entertainment......basically just a bunch of twinks flipping around trying to have the best match of the night. WWE is shit, but lets not pretend like AEW isn't shit as well. You'd have to go back at least 20 years to find a decent wrestling show.

4
PresidentChipperson 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yup, 1995 ECW...nothing better.

1
rockaustin 1 point ago +1 / -0

You obviously haven’t been watching lately. I would have agreed with you two years ago.

4
Cectra 4 points ago +4 / -0

Is it? Jericho is a big part of it and he's quite an open trump fan

According to cornette his wife is an insurrectionist and should be arrested for being in Washington on Jan 6th.

1
mav2468 1 point ago +1 / -0

Really? First I have heard of that about his wife. Cornette is a libtard for sure.

3
Ocrazio-Cortez 3 points ago +3 / -0

What makes AEW better? I'm curious about this as I had been watching from the Hogan days right up and stopped a number of years back.

Every other AEW fan I come across is a smarky cuck and as you're here I will assume you aren't one of them.

3
Captain_REEcard 3 points ago +3 / -0

AEW fans are extremely annoying. Even people I personally know, I can't talk about watching 90s wrestling show without them having to say something about AEW. So I just don't talk about wrestling anymore.

I know WWE sucks in 2021, in my opinion, so does AEW. That's why I watch the 90s.

2
buster2209 2 points ago +2 / -0

Reminds me of WWF from 2+ decades ago which was a great era.

The WWE is too polished. It reminds me of Disney films and they too have that 'problem'.

It just comes across as soulless

1
mav2468 1 point ago +1 / -0

There are rumors that Disney is looking to buy WWE. Ugh.

2
buster2209 2 points ago +2 / -0

Then it'd truly be destroyed, but I don't Vince will ever sell.

2
Thedrbooty 2 points ago +2 / -0

Politics-wise, AEW is baffling. They have a flaming gay guy wrestler, a tranny guy who they call a woman that wrestles in the women's divison, and you can buy rainbow themed merch.

The uppercard is straight white male and christian as fuck. Young Bucks are wear crosses around their necks, along with Tay Conti and others. Lucha Bros openly give all glory to God and pay special attention to young kids. Hangman Page is a texas whisky swiller who has the crowd chanting "cowboy shit" as his catchphrase. Chris Jerico and others routinely call people gay to insult them, ie, he dissed the American Top Team by making a reference that they are all Tops. Jungle Boy and Orange Cassidy are typical american alpha male archetypes.

2
America1stAndOnly 2 points ago +2 / -0

There's several reasons why AEW is better, but to establish "better" we first need to establish just how good WWE is. To put it simply, they ain't. They're absolute shit and you'd get better wrestling entertainment from some teenagers putting on a show in their backyard. They ruin everything they touch, have terrible storylines that either don't make sense, get forgotten about, or have the heel win because you always got to make sure the heel gets that heat! WWE is a 0/100. So with that established, we can look at AEW and examine it for what it is, instead of worrying about if it's better than WWE or not, which it is by default, along with every other wrestling promotion on the planet.

AEW isn't afraid to let pro-wrestling be wrestling. They're not ashamed of what they are, they're proud of it. They also don't disrespect their fans, which makes people not feel like shit when they watch them. That aside, they do things that really help with the presentation. Perhaps the best one is that they keep track of wins and losses. Wrestlers don't get a world title shot just because they came out to the ring with a mic and called the champion a jerk. It's, oh, this wrestler is 16-2 for this year, it makes sense that they get a title shot. Wrestlers are also allowed to be themselves, whether it's a japan strong style, lucha wrestler, backyard deathmatch, or anything else. You get match variety! Another thing is that wrestlers aren't punished for getting over with the crowd, and a lot of wrestlers are over. Speaking of crowds, the crowds are loud and excited to be there and that makes the show more exciting to match. All the big matches aren't just reserved for PPVs either. The weekly shows actually have stakes and consequences and the wrestlers themselves don't just save all their best stuff for the PPVs. Every wrestler on the show has something going on with them too. Ultimately though, if you're a fan of pro-wrestling, just give it a watch. There'll probably be something you like.

Now, I'm going to assume that you're here asking about AEW in good faith. In which case, I've got two links for you, that I think will give you a great idea about what the company is about. The hype package and then the match for it. Watch this from around 54 second mark and stop it at the 6:45 mark. If you go further, it'll spoil the match results.

https://youtu.be/AOHBOiDfPp4?t=54

This link is to the match itself. Enjoy. Oh, and for a frame of reference. This match was built up over the course of an entire year, and it was worth it.

Thanks for the in-depth response.

I have to admit when I first heard of Marko Stunt and the description of him I had to look him up. Stunt vs Jack Swagger (don't know his AEW name) and I thought jfc is this what passes for a wrestler now? Then I heard about this Barbed-wire Exploding Deathmatch and it was as ridiculous as the name suggested. I was like noooope.

I had been watching from maybe 89-90 until about 2005. Returned for Bret's return on January 4th 2010 and if I wasn't doing anything or didn't have work the next day I'd watch Raw and some PPVs (all non-paying livestreaming of course) and I did this on/off up until Undertaker lost to Reigns (his real retirement let's be honest). I knew he was part time in 2010 but I watched anyway. I had always intended to stop altogether when Undertaker stopped.

I liked the return of Rock, Lesnar, eventually Goldberg, I liked Ryback, they missed an opportunity there. Punk and Bryan were alright.

What turned me off: Ok the product was hit and miss but a big turn off was the "fans". You used to see men, women, families (yes, even during the Austin years). The fanbase (by 2014 or so) had now become infested with smarks who were bald, fat, bearded, wore Bayley tshirts and looked like they have never got laid. If this was the modern wrestling fan I wanted no part of it. I felt embarassed to even watch. The Raw After WrestleMania crowds were the worst.

Then in 2017 I think along comes this Irish scrote called Finn Balor. I had heard this guy was this good, in Japan and all that. He comes out he looks like he's 4'11 and I thought are you fucking serious. I remember him standing in the ring with DX and the NWO - 123 Kid looked like Giant Gonzalez next to him.

It was Royal Rumble 16 or 17 were somebody was down for most of the match - could've been Balor or somebody silly. "He's been in the ring for 45 minutes". Yeah, on his back waiting for his cue for spots. Nothing like the Rumbles of old.

Then I heard about this indepenent show that had a guy called Jay Janella (or something) and he was wrestling.......The Invisible Man (yes, for anyone reading THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED). The fans, the same type I referred to previously, were CHEERING this crap on. AEW ends up signing that guy!

I lived through all the good times, I had my fill. No time in my life for nonsense.

side note - I don't know what "strong style" is.

I'm not a big fan of wrestling, haven't been much of a fan since I was a kid.

But there was this lucha program for a few years called Lucha Underground. Holy shit was it entertaining. The acrobatics involved in it were top notch. Half the damn show took place in mid air

Respectfully literally every stupid trope that WWE has put forth has ultimately become a part of our society.

Regardless of if it’s intentional or not.

2
BrianSolo 2 points ago +2 / -0

Dude… maybe you haven’t been paying attention lately, but the product is complete garbage lol

I can’t even bring myself to watch anymore. Boring matches, bland characters, and cartoonish storylines that seem to be written by/for children (overall)

-1
MapleBaconWaffles -1 points ago +1 / -2

Hasn't wrestling always been for children?

2
Slamdangles 2 points ago +2 / -0

Also for those that don't know, the owner of WWE, Vince McMahon, is a staunch republican. Also big time buddies with Trump!

It's too bad his product sucks and is getting stomped by AEW, but hey most of yall won't care because wrestling can be dorky lol.

1
Klavi 1 point ago +1 / -0

Really don't see how people are saying AEW is "stomping" WWE, considering WWE continues to sign insanely huge contracts and deals and shit, meanwhile AEW's main show is soon to be relegated to.. TBS.

AEW just promoted a weekly show as their biggest show ever, with a match that the dumbfuck cult fans immediately deemed "The best match ever seen on TV" and it ended up drawing very close to what the show's been drawing for the last few weeks.

People cream themselves over it cause ex-WWE people go there and say that WWE is bad and that's all they care about. It's actually like dealing with liberals, they want you to believe them and only them and never think differently.

1
mav2468 1 point ago +1 / -0

Isn't TBS > TNT?

1
Slamdangles 1 point ago +1 / -0

One is putting on a really fantastic wrestling show (AEW) and the other is putting on a dogshit show(WWE). WWE is really stale and tries to be a variety show, AEW is all about professional wrestling and that's what we want. It doesn't matter if the wrestlers are former WWE guys or not, we just want good wrestling and AEW delivers in spades.

3
Based_EMT 3 points ago +3 / -0

I feel like Austin is a closeted lefty too. He was going on tyraids for awhile about “motherfuckers who don’t like gay people and gay marriage needs to happen” and all of this. He’s a shrewd guy with his brand and caught shit and shut his mouth, but between that and admitting he’s an atheist and some of the other shit he’s said makes me believe he’s not exactly conservative either.

3
Cectra 3 points ago +3 / -0

After trump became president, Austin was asked about giving a stunner to trump in 2007.

And gave an answer that had nothing to do with politics. Praised him for taking the stunner.

No lefty I know would be able to talk about trump after 2016 without going wild with rage.

Glen Jacobs, AKA Kane, has been calling the Biden administration out quite a bit. He refuses to go along with the Covid BS.

Val Venis is a libertarian, but with the small l, he's not the Trump-hating kind. Caught shit in the Reddit wrestling forum over opposing a transgender women's champion in AEW. What's funny is when they were bitching about him, that's what made me start following him on social media. I never would've thought to look him up til the morons on Reddit whined about it.

2
nickybops 2 points ago +2 / -0

2
BeefyBelisarius 2 points ago +2 / -0

Aren't Angle and Austin's necks too wrecked to perform anymore? Maybe bring back the discount version of Angle, Jack Swagger, instead?

3
Druid_Con 3 points ago +3 / -0

Swagger is in AEW. But WWE has signed an Olympic gold medal Gabe Steveson

2
America1stAndOnly 2 points ago +2 / -0

He goes by Jake Hager now and he gets to actually do stuff now instead of being ignored by WWE. Here's a sample of one of his matches from a recent feud of his. AEW also isn't afraid to try out new things, such as they did with this match.

https://youtu.be/P7XBEXvBeGk

1
BeefyBelisarius 1 point ago +1 / -0

They do run into it on a daily basis. Then they repeat what they hear because they want to be socially popular.

We cannot have these people around at all. One of the milestones to our success will be removing those whose integrity only exists if it makes them look cool.

Kind of hope they snag some MLW dudes who need exposure like Hammerstonr and Holliday. Those were MJF's old stablemates in The Dynasty. They had some off the charts chemistry in that fed.

WWE has women announcers and refs. They put belts on women and blacks for diversity points.

They prop up Roman reigns just because he has the right look to cater to many demos. They made Khali one foot pin the undertaker to get the Indian crowd.

WWE is globo homo that produced the rock and Cena

Yeah the company has gone downhill since she has gotten more and more involved. Although AEW is woke as well.

2
America1stAndOnly 2 points ago +2 / -0

AEW seems to be turning away from the woke stuff more and more. They have a bad habit of succumbing to the twitter cancel outrage mob. Most recently, the twitter fags got upset over this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ax2wh3YmZo

The wrestler Max Caster then vanished from all AEW programming for a while. His tag partner had some boring singles matches and it seemed like they had shit canned him, but then, he came back and this was the result.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjX6F1VVBFo

Seems like they don't care so much anymore as they even ended up taking shots at the whiners.

Back in the 90s women's wrestling was just bra and panty matches and girls wearing next to nothing, pretty much a break in the real action for T&A. Now they've tried to legitimatize it to appeal to the female demo.

4

I am honest to God shocked that anyone in WWE came up with such a good idea. Just like the Fiend and Strowmann it's only a matter of time until they fubar it beyond belief, but kudos at least for having one measurable creative bone left.

Haven't watched wrestling in years, shit's boring. WWE is also full of Cucked Faggots now. Daniel Bryan is a commie faggot.

Yeah Daniel Bryan is a cuck!

I stopped watching when they spilled the drama outside the ring like having matches in parking lots, and making new leagues-in-leagues that I couldn't even keep track of.

I yearn for the simpler days: Two minutes of each competitor idly threatening the other in front of a fiery graphic, and then a showdown in the ring.....Royal Rumbles where everyone gets in the ring...and the occasional long and drawn out buildup that leads to a super epic matchup like Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant.

The more I learn about wrestling, the more I want to watch it. This is brilliant!

I'm shocked it took them this long. Twitter's reaction should be interesting, considering that company truly panders to Twitter. i think they had an exclusive show on Twitter at some point.

John Wayne Gacy, famous homosexual.

3
TheMadManDidItAgain 3 points ago +3 / -0

LOL, his name is "Gacy" pronounced "Gay-see."

They should have named him fagoot and made him Arabic.

Wonder if he's any relation to John Wayne Gacy?

Didn’t pro wrestling become pussified in the last 10 years or so? Don’t they refer to it as the PG era because they taken away so much of the extra violence and machismo?

Vince loves Trump. Wasn't he gonna be put on a board or something to help America?

2
RedditPurgeRefugee 2 points ago +2 / -0

We laugh now, but this is how they infiltrate. "Hey guys it's just gay marriage, it's not like we're gonna try to turn your kids gay..."

2
JaevlaSkit 2 points ago +2 / -0

They already do that with Sami Zayne.

2
magnokor 2 points ago +2 / -0

WWE is the woke wrestler.

Kneeling, millions given to BLM, crying for diversity, worship women's soccer, firing all Trump supporters and only hiring weak and sad people.

Destroyed by the idiot daughter and doofus son-in-law. They then did this:

Erasing President Trump from WWE highlights.

Okay, still not watching WWE. They're shit and ruin everything they touch. Brock Lesnar is anti-dimes. Baron Corbin has go away heat and change the channel levels of heat. Roman Reigns still isn't over and never will be, no matter how much he gets pushed. Oldberg sucks and always has. Seth Rollins is lame. They ruined Alexa Bliss by giving her a shitty version of the Fiend gimmick. Worst of all, they fucking fired The Fiend Bray Wyatt, the last good thing they ever managed to create. This is why I tapped out of watching WWE years ago. There's no hope for that company. They ruin every wrestler that gets over.

SteelBallRun1890 2 points ago +2 / -0

Much like the rest of the WWE and the entertainment industry in general, this is so obviously acted just for attention and to get buzz. The dude looks nothing like that role and you can tell he's having way too much fun saying words like "safe space" that cause a reaction.

2
MLGS 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's a shame, because WWE is dogshit terrible right now but I also refuse to watch AEW because they have a transgender "women's" wrestler.

2
AgnosticTemplar 2 points ago +2 / -0

Really disappointed that the writer of this article didn't mention Steven Richards and his stable Right To Censor.

The far left wrestling fan group I'm a member of are so mad at this.

WWE is on a death spiral right now. This is just another of Vince McMahon's weird gimmicks used to put ish athletes. McMahon is a pedophile. Not somebody we want to rally around.
