We need to eliminate political parties altogether. They have a monopoly on the entire political system while Independents are the largest group by registration.

56
SupremeDearLeader2 56 points ago +57 / -1

This. Uniparty is evil and there are too many repubs still asleep.

36
morethanaconquerer2 36 points ago +36 / -0

We also need to end corporations right to lobby at local, state and federal levels. Too much concentrated power.

6 companies account for well over 90% of our food. They have incredible lobbying power because they can donate not to just lobbyist, but to non profits and NGO's that will also lobby in their favor.

The sad part is the government funds these same NGO's and non-profits.

These laws must be changed too, or it's all for naught.

24
War_Hamster 24 points ago +25 / -1

Absolutely. Both "sides" talk about reigning in corporate spending but nobody does diddly squat.

But bribing a public official is already illegal, so lobbying could be ended tomorrow if the will to do so was there.

The concentration of wealth and power is one issue that the Constitution did not address. It is a very difficult moral dilemma.

10
morethanaconquerer2 10 points ago +10 / -0

Well, our government was given the power to coin money, not a central bank. Even our founding fathers warned of central banking, which they had just left to come to America.

Privately owned central banks have no place in government. That brings all sorts of control and tyranny issues.

We had no income tax before central banking here in the US, and the Constitution plainly states who has the right to produce money, and it's not a bank.

That is the way to end it.

Have you been reading my diary?

The main cause of the Revolutionary War was England monopolizing gold and silver and then cracking down on the Colonials for producing their own paper money.

9

If we had 10-15 real libertarians like the mises guys in congress, not lefty shill faggot lolbertarians, it would force actual negotiations on bills. Both parties would need to lobby the libertarians to get anything passed. It Would be hugely beneficial for our country.

Bill Mitchell is celebrating right now. You would have to be an idiot not to see the inbound abuses. They just declared over half the country the greatest threat to the country. No need for banning weapons when they can red flag half the country based on voter registration.

THE DOWNLOAD

The bill referenced in the tweet is H.R. 4350. The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022.

Buried in section 529 of this bill (which is over 1350 pages) is the creation of the ability for military judges to confiscate firearms or any other potentially dangerous "material" from a member of the military if they pose a threat to themselves or others (aka: red flag laws) without due process and based on a preponderance of evidence (preponderance = "he's seems like he's going to hurt somebody" vs beyond reasonable doubt = "we know he's planning to hurt somebody and have incontrovertible evidence").

Crenshaw was not the only Republican to vote for this bill. The official vote total shows 134 other Republican's voted "Yea" while 181 Democrats voted "Yea". There were numerous amendments made to the bill before it was passed but I haven't had time to read through them all to know what they were/if they affected anything.

Just offering a little clarity so people are more informed.

What about "shall not be infringed" do people not understand? You have a right to face a jury of your peers and stand trial before the government can take away your guns, based on some verdict of instability I presume (not sure what that actual law would be).

These laws appear to be unconstitutional to me, but maybe I'm just wrong.

His main argument is that it should only be used where there is evidence that someone is about to commit violence, but there is no such thing!

You don’t know someone is about to commit violence until they do it! You could say someone trash talking on facebook is “about to commit violence”. You could argue that someone buying more ammo than usual “is about to commit violence”. Why else would he need all that extra ammo?

It’s ridiculous.

1
Assassin47 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's not just unconstitutional because of 2A. Congress doesn't have the authority to take weapons or manage "public health". ATF is also illegal. And military law shouldn't apply to someone who has been discharged. Dan Crenshaw has never read the Constitution.

Basically, if you are a member of the military this would apply to you.
