Cool! I didn't know brave had a search engine.

Edit: Just switched to Brave! Here's a link: https://search.brave.com/

Direct link to thread: https://lulz.com/community/thread/social-experiment-duckduckgo-hiring-racial-discrimination/

The hiring manager in question: https://i.imgur.com/WNoEkYz.png

  • Educated in Gender Studies and Cultural Studies
  • pronouns listed on LinkedIn (they/them obviously)

Adding some additional context as I work in tech and have spoken to a few HR people who are all actually quite cool themselves and are fed up.

So these mandates started coming in around a year ago, primarily from US companies (AT&T, Verizon, tech giants etc). They state clearly under contractual obligations that companies looking to work with them MUST hire a certain amount of "diverse" candidates. This extends even to the UK and the EU, with some of these HR people I know operating in primarily EU based companies. These small tech firms would not exist without the business of these large US organisations, so they have to comply or go out of business. These policies then trickle down to suppliers of suppliers, becoming near unavoidable for many companies.

I'm not saying that is what is happening in this case though, the hiring manager at DuckDuckGo is clearly a zxir. This blatant discrimination is coming at us from both ends of the spectrum - the top (Blackrock, Google, Government, etc) as well as the radicalised hiring managers, who don't even need to be in a position that long but do have the ability to sit there screening out unwanted candidates (straight male candidates).

The big question is what do they do now we see this shit...

They fire her, I will give the benefit of the doubt. Stand by the bitch... then I'm out and they are dead to me.

3
Amaroq64 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah but you know how it is. Management doesn't actually know anything about what's going on on the ground. They probably don't even know HR is fucking them.

Maybe instead of just silently stop using DDG, we should be like the left and get loud about it and pressure them to fix it.

30
War_Hamster 30 points ago +31 / -1

The fact that they've made firing her so difficult is going to make it a challenge for them to meet your standards. I'm sure the lawyers are going to have a busy week, considering they're going to get sued no matter which way DDG goes on this.

23
Junosu 23 points ago +23 / -0

Exactly that. They need to share public data to prove this is wrong - or goodbye DuckDuckgo.

We need to educate ourselves on being self employed/self sufficient.

Living modestly, a priority on lowering expenses (like owning a house somewhere cheap vs living in some overpriced duplex in a big city) and understanding the principles to running a lean business.

In my mindset, everyone is self employed. They sell the labor of one person (themselves) to the highest bidder. The "employer" is just your current customer, as you can only sell your time to one person at a time (usually, moonlighting is frowned upon).

Coming from that mindset you can "invest" in your "business", and get training/skills to be able to sell your labor for a higher price point. This is a very basic example, and as we all know you can't get rich trading time for money. You won't get rich until you learn to make money in your sleep is an old, but true, saying.

3
jomten 3 points ago +4 / -1

*lost my train of thought mid-ramble and forgot to bring it back to the matter at hand, happens more than I care to admit.

These "employers" with their leftist nonsense are, in my economic worldview, just really annoying "customers". Businesses compete for access to customers, not the other way around, so in one sense we need to get better, or increase our skillset, to be able to work with the best "customers" and leave the annoying ones to the lazy leftists.

In another sense, these woke businesses excluding conservatives should not be able to survive very long, but they have a massive advantage of being established and using regulations to protect themselves from competition. There is ALWAYS a way to beat them though, and Im confident that we will.

We just need to believe that we can, and not accept our own excuses based on our limiting beliefs.

Anyone can find a reason why something won't work, Winners find the way to make it work.

1
orangemanwins202020 1 point ago +1 / -0

The Australian aborigines are God's ugliest children. I legit feel sorry for them. Not this one, but those who aren't communist garbage.

3
RexCollumSilvarum 3 points ago +3 / -0

And to think that the Aboriginal Australians' ancestors were the very first people to get that far -- all the way from Africa, by boat or raft or whatever (thought it could have been a land bridge during one of the ice ages).

And by the 1700s they had forgotten how to do basically anything civilized.

Idiocracy in action, and it's coming here too if we don't do something.

3
fac1 3 points ago +3 / -0

Aboriginal Australians' ancestors were the very first people to get that far

Maybe the reason they kept going so far from places with civilizations is because they were so ugly that every time they encountered other groups those groups tried to kill them, or at least told them to keep it moving.

1
AtlanteanWizard 1 point ago +1 / -0

Aborigines are not from Africa. They are indigenous. Though it has been speculated they maybe from polynesian/micronesian descent from waaaaaay way back before the dreamtime.

0
RexCollumSilvarum 0 points ago +0 / -0

I thought they had journeyed all the way from Africa, where all humans originated, and that the dreamtime was 60,000 years ago or more. That would be pretty interesting if there were multiple origins of modern humans.

43

Do some research. DDG search results have become liberal sites and fact checkers at the top very much like google.

36
darkmodelogon 36 points ago +37 / -1

can verify, very lib results lately.

11
RageQuit 11 points ago +14 / -3

DDG uses mostly a bing backend.

16
Awan-CIA-Car-Lot 16 points ago +16 / -0

Bing is somehow better than DDG though. Results there aren't bad.

21
schiff_for_brains 21 points ago +21 / -0

Bing is pretty much what Google was 5-6 years ago before they jacked up the algorithm to combat wrongthink.

Racist is a derogatory and hurtful label to be sure. So are “White Supremacist,” “Neo-Nazi” and “Nazifascists” if used by leftist, pro-abortion political operatives who wish to destroy the USA. The last four years of Obama’s presidency were “white” only in that white was the “minority.” A huge economic downturn was caused by policies which favored the “unprepared” minority of America, and by the liberal social agenda of Obama. This is not to say that blacks, Hispanic and Asians had no part in the economic downturn. Blacks, for example, caused a tremendous amount of problems with their drug abuse and crime. The “n” word is a hurtful word. I do not want anyone to call me an “ignoramus,” an “ignorant person,” an “ignorant American” or any of the many other insults offered. But I do not like being insulted by a leftist, pro-abortion, Marxist, liberal, Democrat. And that’s what people are. We are Democrats first, then we are Americans. We’re all Americans, and we’re all Americans first. And if the political left calls that bigoted or “racist,” I’ll take that, then I’ll be left with only one other choice: To be a political traitor. I love America. I am proud to be an American. And, I will fight to protect America. My friends, the political left does not know what it is doing. They have destroyed this once great nation. They are destroying the USA. And if they are not stopped, they will destroy all we hold dear.

Who are these Kardashians I keep hearing about, again?

0
HumblePig 0 points ago +1 / -1

I mean, it kind of is. But it implies it's at least a stupidity from lack of exposure rather than failure to process. At worst, a lack of effort to familiarize yourself with the facts.

But it's an insult that removes accountability or permanence. You can fix ignorant, you can't fix stupid.

What are the best no-tracking search engines?

  1. DuckDuckGo

Someone should tell him to update his website.

8
45BARREL45 8 points ago +9 / -1

Thanks PEDE I was able to just add the BRAVE search engine as default to Dissenter. I have been using Dissenter as it's built off Brave and GAB is the company behind it. It can get so confusing but why use DDG if BRAVE is stepping up to fill the void for us Pede's.

3
AJoeDD 3 points ago +4 / -1

I'd recommend you to just use Brave. Dissenter has major security vulnerabilities. These are pointed out by people trying to help, and duly ignored by the people at Gab for some reason. It's mostly just a copy with some graphic design on the home page, but no updates on security and other functions at all. At least this was true last year. I doubt they changed, though.

3
45BARREL45 3 points ago +4 / -1

Thank you AJoe I will look into this security issue and continue to pivot as the climate changes frequently. Look at DDG who would have thought they would be setting us up for this type of letdown and furthering mistrust in the internet as a whole.

0
NEETpride 0 points ago +1 / -1

Dude I love Dissenter! Do you actually use the comment anywhere function? I think it's so cool, but I'm usually the first post on the sites I comment on. I want that community to be bigger.

No typically I only look at 2 websites religiously and daily. TDW.win and TGP so I am not very social in the online regard. I have NO social media accounts and never had. 24
Donttreadonme16 24 points ago +35 / -11

The Brave *search engine is clearly inferior but it’s getting better every day. I start with Brave 100% of the time and usually end up switching to google about 25% of the time.

Luckily the Brave browser app makes it super easy to switch search engines by pressing one button. Big fan.

*: search engine, not browser. Browser is superior IMO

67
iamherefortheluls 67 points ago +69 / -2

I do web development and I have noticed zero difference between Chrome and Brave performance. In fact in terms of stability and memory, Brave has been outperforming Chrome, Firefox and Edge for me.

What inferiority are you referring to?

28
sneedger 28 points ago +28 / -0

I think he mistakenly said browser when he meant search engine. I use Brave for both - Brave has mostly the same results as Google, but may end up getting better with time and doesn't have as much tracking.

13
Imransgarage 13 points ago +15 / -2

Imagine still thinking Google search results are good.

That said, DDG search results have gone to total crap recently as well.

6
sneedger 6 points ago +6 / -0

Google has gone to shit (even the normies agree), but this means that Brave isn't a downgrade, just a sidegrade. In the absence of anything else, I'll take it.

4
angryrhino83 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes they have. I search the Internet for my work in brand protection and DDG is just not very good anymore

2
Donttreadonme16 2 points ago +2 / -0

No one hates Google more than me, but denying that is just wishful thinking.

2
Brobold 2 points ago +6 / -4

Search for "cannon" on Bing and see what you get. Google isn't a good company, but their search engine is still the best.

11
TheThreeSeashells 11 points ago +11 / -0

Google isn't a good company, but their search engine is still the best.

It depends on what you're looking for. If it has anything to do with news or politics, it's complete shit.

9
day221 9 points ago +10 / -1

The results on Bing were better for me. Not to mention there are plenty of others you can check first before resorting to Google. 25% of the time switching to Google is just crazy. I've been using other seaech engines now for two years and not ever felt the need to use Google except the very odd time (sometimes their stock tickers are more up to date, sometimes they are behind though too, or to check their censorship). Google is so polluted now by censorship and social proof that its results are actually a lot worse than they used to be.

3
akai_ferret 3 points ago +4 / -1

I don't know what you're smoking man, but google search results are absolute trash.

2
VanDiesel 2 points ago +2 / -0

Possibly because I recently bought a camera, both bing and google point me to Canon. What difference is supposed to be present?

That said, Google is still a little better for apolitical topics, but it's absolutely garbage for anything even vaguely adjacent to culture/society/religon/politics.

I use it and love it. Mouse gestures are excellent, build-in e-mail into the browser is one of my favorite features, you can use all Chrome extensions, stack tabs, take full page screenshots... If you like to tinker with your browser and set it to your exact specifications rather than just get a simple one out of the box, it can't be beat.

It's fine out the box too, almost identical to Chrome, but the real power shines in how you can tweak it.

Inferior in what way? I use it on every device (iPhone, iPad, windows pc, Mac) with very few issues.

Almost all of the issues I do have are on work intranet sites that are solved by turning brave shields off for that site. It’s usually because they are importing data from another intranet site and it gets blocked as something creepy.

3
I_Used_to_be_me 3 points ago +3 / -0

I've found Brave's shields to be incredibly effective. Not perfect, but about 90% of the time, they are right in blocking what they're blocking, and only rarely should you trust a blocked site enough to take the shields down.

Brave is a browser - with TOR functionality, no less. Brave is also a search engine. And BAT is Brave's erc20 token that you can both earn (and cash out if you'd like I've earned a couple hundred $USD over the years I've been using it), and also use as a great way to donate to your favorite sites and content creators

No. You have to use only command line input and Tex from 1990.

At least It has monochrome colors though like green/black, amber/black

Joke I'm assuming?

Just in case it's not, yes you can get this for linux. Hell, linux is a full-fledged OS now and works seamlessly for gaming, now (I no longer even run windows on my PC rig). Set up correctly, and its UI is just as intuitive as OSX

4

I use brave on Linux. You install by copying and pasting a few lines of code from their download page

-3
OneBigMaga -3 points ago +8 / -11

This is why Linux will never be a successful desktop operating system.

5
Troll 5 points ago +6 / -1

Funny because the one line of "code" is far faster and easier than downloading from a browser.

Chocolatey on Windows needs to do the same thing as Linux...

0
80960KA 0 points ago +2 / -2

Yeah but you can install a browser on Windows without even knowing what Chocolatey is.

You just like click on it.

1
Troll 1 point ago +1 / -0

Same with things like snap flatpack or some package managers.

Either way ease of use for yards isn't necessarily good long term. Though I know that's not the point

1
80960KA 1 point ago +1 / -0

Either way ease of use for yards isn't necessarily good long term.

It's not even ease of use at this point, using CLI isn't hard and it's not an achievement. 10 year old me had a very good understanding of the DOS CLI, if you can read you can understand it.

It's about "UX", interface friction. If I see a piece of windows software, I can just click it in my browser from some random website and I get an .exe that knows how to install itself, and windows does some really basic checks that it's not going to rape me automatically. Sure, linux can do this, it's just rarely as smooth. Lot more crap to dig through, a lot of times there's no package for your system so you end up using some dodgy shell 1-liner that you read the source for to make sure it's not going to ransomware you...it's just annoying. It's not hard, it's just ugh.

5
Paul_Revere 5 points ago +6 / -1

Sounds more like a Brave problem than a Linux problem.

4
80960KA 4 points ago +5 / -1

The reason software vendors do this shit is because there's no "linux installer package" because there's no "linux" per se.

There ubuntu and debian and redhat and suse and mint and arch and....they're all different enough each needs its own fucking package (even if they're using the same packaging tool like deb or rpm, they're probably not compatible because things are in different places).

Or you just make a shell script one liner that downloads shit and installs it.

Linux is pretty gay in that shit that should have been solved like 20 years ago...still isn't.

2
loverat 2 points ago +2 / -0

Looks like you upset some Linux fanboy with this comment.

1
sigint1984 1 point ago +2 / -1

You'd have the same Linux distribution problem with Windows if it was open source. Windows never really had a standard package manager either and is only catching up now with clones like chocolatey. The difference is Windows has a standard registry and application database, and less frequently modified kernel. In reality, Linux is the kernel and the distros with other GNU software make it an OS.

1
80960KA 1 point ago +1 / -0

Windows never really had a standard package manager either and is only catching up now with clones like chocolatey.

MSI installer packages and the "programs and features" panel have been around since at least XP, if not W2K. Pretty sure you can also access that via CLI if you really feel the need since at least whenever PowerShell showed up, but I think there was even a utility before that for install/uninstall via CLI.

The difference is Windows has a standard registry and application database

Yeah that was my point.

In reality, Linux is the kernel and the distros with other GNU software make it an OS.

Perfectly well aware of what linux is and how it's structured, and also well aware that this nature is one of the core problems it has with presenting as smooth a UX as windows or mac.

2
KernalMustard 2 points ago +4 / -2

Because Linux is Betamax compared to Windows is VHS

7
sigint1984 7 points ago +7 / -0

For desktop, maybe. For servers, Linux is the Ferrari and Windows is the Prius.

3
80960KA 3 points ago +4 / -1

It's more like linux is a Freightliner and Windows is a F-150 Raptor. They're both trucks; one can haul mad shit but requires a pretty qualified driver, the other isn't all that great at hauling shit but is fun in the mud and your wife can actually operate it. Apple is a Tesla. Doesn't haul shit, but is slick and impresses your dumber friends. It's also full of physical design flaws.

It's already successful. You can install pretty much anything with a simple command like:

apt install brave-browser

Each distribution has their own. The only reason to use Windows is if you're a boomer or play video games, and Steam is making Microsoft's monopoly on video games obsolete as well with more games being cross-platform.

If any operating system dies, it'll be DOS.

1
saltyviewer123 1 point ago +1 / -0

I fiddle with Linux Mint off and on and apt install is awesome, only downside is some programs I use are windows only or the repos are not up to date for somethings I am interested in.

0
loverat 0 points ago +1 / -1

It's already successful. You can install pretty much anything with a simple command...

Except normal people who make up the bulk of users don't WANT to do that. Yes Linux is lovely and yes the distro's have improved 1000% since I first used it back in the late 90's but it's too scary for normal people, they would have to use their brains.

And fuck off with your edgy boomer slamming - they invented the Internet and Linus Torvald only escaped being a boomer by 4 years.

The dumbest fuckery I see is with the last couple of generations. The ones who freak out if they can't get an app for something when all they need to do is open a website on their phones.

0
d_bokk 0 points ago +1 / -1

Normal people don't use Windows either, they use their Linux and Unix-based smartphones for everything you used to do on Windows XP. The only people who use Windows today are boomers and gamers, also people who are forced to for work because the companies have been using it since the early 2000s.

Don't be a whiney faggot and get offended by facts.

31

if you look up "Charlie Kirk and Groypers" almost all the results are from left wing trash sites, which ought to tell you enough. But the short story is that ole Charlie thinks it is very important to do "outreach" to the gays, have gays on stage being super gay and gets kinda speechless if you ask him what gayness has to do with conservatism.

32
Barbs 32 points ago +45 / -13

Maybe you should ask yourself who his audience is (college commies), and then you’ll understand exactly why he’s tailoring his message to his audience. He’s not there to talk about conservatism to conservatives, he’s finding a middle ground where he can maybe convince a commie or two that there’s another alternative.

And you do that by speaking their language and using their own dogma to reach them. It ain’t rocket surgery to figure it out.

I keep hearing from people like you that she's a grifter - as in she's dishonest and is just saying things to get your donations or manipulate you when the time comes like Tucker. What is the evidence of that? I'll wait.

The biggest issue I have with Candace Owens is that she always has a platform somewhere. She's constantly doing interviews on FOX, she still has social media accounts. She clearly isn't doing anything that's "challenging" the system so to speak because she still has access to all this media, both traditional and social.

8
Nyranger16 8 points ago +10 / -2

Exactly, thank you

1
day221 1 point ago +2 / -1

Everything is political. The worst is the stuff you don't even realize is political but is. You should never use Google except to check something on the rare occasion. It's not even good anymore - its results are censored and based on social proof and what stupid tiktok kids are watching these days. You have to sort through so much garbage and then you don't even know what you are missing. Plus they've made their algorithm less sensitive to changes in search wording so it's not easy to tweak the results that way anymore either. It's much worse than it used to be. Others are way better at this point. People are thinking back to 10 years ago and can't get over the look of a different interface so they make excuses. That's all.

8
Nibba 8 points ago +8 / -0

You try and look anything technical up on ddg and you might as well just go to the library and dig through their catalog. You’ll find what you need faster.

1
Nyranger16 1 point ago +2 / -1

Just glad there are at least a few reasonable people here lol. Thank you guys

2
Nyranger16 2 points ago +3 / -1

I'm saying that if I look up a movie or a quote or something that isn't being censored then Duckduckgo absolutely fucking sucks at returning relevant hits. I can sometimes find things that Google censors on DDG, but that's the full extent of its usefulness. And even then it's disappointing.

I said mainstream, not mainstream media. Relax a little bit

-1
MR_ROBOT1776 -1 points ago +1 / -2

There is no saving a company with a woke CEO, though why the board doesn’t fire them is beyond me.

42
Scumbag-reddit 42 points ago +43 / -1

No, it absolutely isn't. HR is there to gap the bridge between employee and employer and ultimately serves purpose to protect the company. This is a role any manager can do as needed, if needed.

HR is like having the Department of Education around. Just adds another step, more expenses, more paperwork, and more regulations. Useless.

12
narvster 12 points ago +13 / -1

Agreed, HR should be removed and replaced with someone to just to any relevant admin work for employees, let hiring managers make all the choices, rather than preselecting applicants for them.

18
Scumbag-reddit 18 points ago +18 / -0

Yep. I used to be in control of hiring my own team and I based it solely on how they aligned with my mission, my expectations, my drive, etc. Just so happened that the majority were conservatives ready/willing/able to give it their all for me.

No it's dictated from HR, the new hires coming in don't have the same mindset, don't align with me as well, and are lazy/unwilling yo put the work in. And then they wonder why the turnover rate has skyrocketed.

10
glowingstrawberry 10 points ago +10 / -0

same. i get employees assigned. diversity hires take a lot of time and end up performing poorly. it doesnt mean non white btw. theres many non white that work great. but the ones hired to fill quotas are horrible. many understand this and do zero work. you rate them as underperforming and hr reviews it, mark them as acceptably performing. fucking clownworld.

1
Motownmow 1 point ago +1 / -0

Companies larger than 100 people require a lot more work than the people here seem to understand. You have recruiting, yes, but you also have payroll, comp and benefits, legal and compliance, all ending up less efficient if the people aren't solely dedicated to their area of expertise.

You'll end up with 5 managers rather than 5 in HR

1
narvster 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, that's what I said, relevant admin, hiring should be down to the managers not just some blue haired HR cat lady.

10
Liberty_or_Death 10 points ago +11 / -1

That's missing one key, the government is who they are really abiding. Protecting the company from the gov is a large part of it now It isn't between the employer and employee in many cases, but compliance. It is between the government requirements upon the employer and the company's employees.

The whole thing was shifted drastically in the late 80s early 90s and became a woman's job in that time. Since then it's been almost entirely about this government compliance. At this point HR is one of, if not the most, powerful position outside of the owner. Their hands are in everything because of the government and their education.

HR has essentially become the government living in your business. It's fucked... the education apparatus surrounding it has to be destroyed and the job needs to return to it's roots. It's insane for me to see our HR lady's power and ineptitude throughout the pandemic...

20
Chad_Dudebroski 20 points ago +20 / -0

defiant_liberty 11 points ago +11 / -0

4
RedditIsCommunist 4 points ago +4 / -0

Not only that but HR can be useful to fight a bad manager who is just out to screw your over. I once had a boss who was trying to stop me from transferring to another department by arguing that I was “essential” while at the same time trying to fire me for stuff like calling in sick when I had the flu.

Something that stupid and contradictory wasn’t going to work even with the dumbest HR people, so end result is she wasn’t allowed to fire me and I was able to transfer into another department that was much more appropriate for my skills. If the HR people had been better I just would have been able to transfer sooner.

HR is useless and provides almost no value to the company (other than maybe liability protection) so it should be no surprise that leftists gravitate to these positions.

We should not be surprised to find the left concentrated in institutions where ideas do not have to work in order to survive.

― Thomas Sowell

I suspect my previous (Fortune 500) company's HR department was up to similar shenanigans. Our team was hiring a developer and the resumes that made it to us after HR filtering were nearly exclusively female which is not something you would expect given how male dominated tech (and software especially) tends to be as a field.

I've got nothing against female devs, and we did eventually find a good one; but the clear bias from HR did not sit well with me. Other things happened that further verified my suspicion that HR was giving women special treatment in order to achieve diversity goals.

Glad to have gotten out of that job and into a new smaller company not subject to Biden's vaccine dictates.

I applied to a company here about ten times over the course of my life and about three times in one year just trying to land an interview. Nothing. No calls. No emails. I would get rejection emails 6 months later.

The last time I applied I changed one thing. ONE. I changed my name to an obvious female name on my resume and submitted. I got two phone calls and two emails within 48 hours. The first phone call I had to pretend I was answering phone for "her". I should've called them out on it but I was so shocked when the number came through I just made up that that she was not available.

Guarantee thats not the only time.

People immediately blacklisting DDG over this are quite right to, but consider the alternative:

DuckDuckGo has a CEO. CEOs are not used to being contacted directly. Per a Google (heh) search, DDG's CEO is Gabriel Weinberg. Gabriel Weinberg can be contacted via many ways:

DDG has several public email addresses to be reached for comment. (And thus, can be pressured.)

What Duck Duck Go is doing is BLATANTLY illegal, and the goal should be to get the woke woman fired and the company forced to act right. Blacklisting won't work for this. Contacting DDG and the local DOL will.

2
HoffmeisterD 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah except you conflate random Jewish-Americans with what I can only assume are the Rothchilds and other elitist Jews, who have vastly different viewpoints and cultures. Those "Jews" are actually Satanists, and not the fun kind, so that becomes a moot point. Or Idk maybe you think all Jews are born unpure simply because of their ancestry, but I and many other non-woke folk would argue that's a pretty fucked up and racist perspective. Do you think 10 y.o. Daniel down the street is worthless scum simply because he has a Jewish mother? Or is there a line somewhere? I'm just trying to sort out where all this fierce hatred of jews comes from because I find it so absurd.

3
DemonkkkRatSlavers 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's because you conflate hatred of subversion by Jewish surnames with 100% hatred of Jews. Which are 2 very different things. You will find most "antisemitism" under the former. You will find very little if any "antisemitism" under the latter, so much so the media has to create white hooded klansmen under your bed, hidden in Trump rallies, running the Proud Boys, painting swastikas on their own synagogues or even black Americans thinking they're the true Israelites committing vandalism to get you to belive there's some big Jew hate movement in America.

Your talking points and logic come straight from the minds at the ADL and SLPC which are no friends of patriotic freedom loving Americans. There are more FBI agents in the so called nazi movement then actual nazis. There will always be a handful of misguided racist nazi loving bigot racists. They have no power, never have never will, but somehow you give them the power to be the face of hatred of Jews and conflate their pure idiocy with people calling out Jewish subversion. Calling out the Jews pushing the transgender agenda doesn't equate to Jew hatred, for example. Same with illegal immigration population replacement nor 1st wave feminism as more examples.

Hopefully you see your confusion is simply the byproduct of muddied waters by the same cultural Marxists you unknowingly defend by assuming their talking points. It's the fucking nation destroying cultural changing subversion that is the issue, not Jewish people. Jewish people just happen to be behind many positions of power in this subversive organizations. If it was a bunch of white people with a shared ideological religion doing the same thing, they'd be called out as well...

You could try LibreWolf, a privacy-focused fork of Firefox.

Mozilla is almost as "progressive" as Google but data mining isn't part of their business model so Firefox is mostly clean already, but they do have some shitty leftist news curation service and the ability to run unsolicited "experiments" (to test upcoming changes), which LibreWolf disables.

3
RedditIsCommunist 3 points ago +4 / -1

This is a bit much to expect for a consumer oriented product that can’t offer the desired features any other way.

“Does auto updates” - most people expect that these days. Can’t do it without contacting an update server.

Various other stuff - yea those things can’t be done except by contacting a server. At least brave has their own proxies for any external services they’re using, and you can shut them off.

Most people aren’t going to be able to compile their own ungoogled-chromium.

1
Foletado 1 point ago +1 / -0

Look before you leap. Brave censors also. They also bundle their browser (at least desktop version) with feeds news propaganda sites: CNN, The Guardian, Fox, etc.

Re Reading post. Nope. "My recommendation" doesn't show up anywhere. People are free to choose.

I bet your that one guy on every tech support question who doesn't actually have the answer to the question but shows up to make the OP feel stupid for asking the question.

You're right, I didn't "audit" Dissenter.

My process went kind of like,

Google Chrome sucks cause they data mine,

Microsoft isn't much better,

Firefox started doing weird "Pocket" crap.

Brave has worked well at blocking stuff and was created by a guy who got kicked out of Mozilla,

and Andrew Torba, who is totally based, created an offshoot of Brave called Dissenter.

"I think I'll try Dissenter. I like Andrew Torba" Pages aren't a minefield of ads, blocks all the tracking crap, and will block Twitter, youtube and others if you want.

As far as search engine... DDG was my goto and now I'm being told it sucks, kind of been seeing that in the search results, I guess I'll try Qwant. What? Brave has a search engine, well, I'll try that.

Let me know how the "personal audit" goes.

1
RedditIsCommunist 1 point ago +1 / -0

Brave appears to be auditable though. Also:

How does Brave compare to ungoogled-chromium?

We have an issue captured for pulling in relevant patches from the ungoogled-chromium project. The ungoogled-chromium project similarly has an issue captured where they mention pulling in patches from Brave.

1
KungFalco20XX 1 point ago +1 / -0

The browser? Sure. The search engine? I don't know.

Tbh, I'm still on DuckDuckGo but will likely switch to something else soon. If Brave can prove their search is legit, they might be the way to go

1
RedditIsCommunist 1 point ago +1 / -0

So far the results from brave search seem better than DDG, though I could be wrong.

Brave has their own crawler to collect data, but for now anyway the coverage still isn’t as good as Google. So they’re doing something like supplementing their database by anonymously pulling in data from other search engines similar to what DDG does. I think they’re doing a much better job than DDG when it comes to trying to avoid using external data (DDG doesn’t seem to seriously care about avoid this…. They seem much happier to just buy web crawl databases.)

DDG isn’t that bad, but they seem totally unconcerned about censorship and their political orientation indicates that they probably support censorship of “misleading” information. So far, they’ve at least obtained “pre-censored” data from elsewhere.

Brave the brower is open source

Brave the search engine isn't, but is there any search engine that is?

1
Foletado 1 point ago +1 / -0

YACY is open source and P2P. Brave Search is censored. Private.Sh is not.

0
KungFalco20XX 0 points ago +1 / -1

Yes, check the site I posted. There are search engines that are open source and can be self hosted if needed

0
chris82tk 0 points ago +3 / -3

Yeah I mean the site you posted suggests using Android phones over iPhones for privacy, which is ridiculous. iPhones are leaps and bounds more private than Androids out of the box. The closest thing to practical for 99% of people on that site is to buy a Pixel and put Graphene on it, and even then a huge chunk of those people will either not understand how to do that or the implications of it (such as not being able to use most Google apps or the official app repository).

As far as search, what I'm getting at is that there doesn't appear to be a practical open source search engine. SearX is open source, and I admire their efforts, but the results are shit (sorry).

1
KungFalco20XX 1 point ago +1 / -0

Apple phones are not the least bit open source. You have no idea how private it is because you cannot see the code. You can listen to marketing talk from Apple all you want but at the end of the day you really don't know what they're doing to spy on you. You're at their mercy.

With Android you've got to deal with Google (who are even more evil than Apple), but have more options for privacy. The Android project is open source and forkable. There are also tons of open source apps you can download to increase your privacy, such as the Bromite browser. I even replaced my keyboard with an open source one, which isn't something you can do on iPhones.

As for deGoogled roms, I don't have one yet, so I can't speak on them much yet. They 100% break a lot of essential apps, but I have heard mentions of the microG project, which is supposed to get a lot of those apps working again while maintaining privacy. Can't speak on how well that works though since I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

1
Foletado 1 point ago +1 / -0

Because they censor also and their browser comes bundled with propaganda news sites.

For uncensored search, the only one is Gigablast / Private.Sh .

DDG was dead to me the moment I started seeing the tv ads and billboards. They’ve moved into the “make money” faze and have obviously surrendered control to woke-tech venture capitalists looking to turn it into a tool they can sell to the globohomos on Wall Street to use to control normal everyday folks.

16
GravityBounce1976 16 points ago +17 / -1

They've always been about making money. Every company exists to make money. Stop demonizing capitalism. You can't have a company if you don't make money.

He's not blaming capitalism brother. He's blaming the retards that are abusing capitalisms beneifts to push their blind, braindead, and evil agenda lmao. I saw this respectfully. Imo the bible is the best search engine. The bible app Is free and has a search function. Bible app owners whoever they are, are kinda woke, but the bible they reading is unwoking them from evil and making them woke with Jesus. So you never know how it's gonna play out. Yeah you can't search for pictures I'm the bible, but you can search for other things, like eternal life, and God. That's way better lmao

3
GravityBounce1976 3 points ago +3 / -0

No, I'm talking about the brave search. Just ran a search with brave's beta search engine and the same search with duckduckgo. Two different results:

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=covid&t=hx&va=g&ia=coronavirus

https://search.brave.com/search?q=covid&source=web

And every listing is PRO VACCINE. Coincidence?

Imagine not knowing the difference between a search engine and a browser, and then trying to share your opinion on anything technology related. Grandparents have a better grasp of technology than you.

Please, if you don't know what you're talking about, don't make definitive statements of any fucking kind. There's nothing wrong with asking questions and trying to learn, but do NOT act like an expert on a topic that you don't understand in the slightest.

No, it doesn't. But DDG uses Google, Bing, etc. DDG is a "meta search" engine. Brave is building its own from ground up.

I believe StartPage pays Google to display their results. So that's a hard NO.

Startpage is essentially a privacy proxy for Google. So if you decide to search Google as a backup in case you’re not finding something using another search engine, and think Google might work better for that particular search, Startpage is a good way to access Google. But it will have the same censorship problems as Google because it’s just displaying what Google sends it while denying information to Google.

As someone mentioned, some info here: https://wiki.techxodus.org/en/Sites_and_Services

Searx is worth playing with but the results are usually a bit of a mess. It’s essentially a meta search engine. YaCy is a p2p distributed search engine (requires installing the p2p client) but I have no idea how useful this results are because I haven’t messed with it.

My search engines in my browser are currently set up like this, in order of preference/fallbacks

  1. Brave Search (giving it a try)
  2. Searx (using an instance in Sweden)
  3. Startpage (anonymized Google)

Arguably I should insert Quant or something between 2 and 3 (before resorting to Google) or use a less messy Searx config with fewer search engines.

They all censor except for Gigablast / Private.sh . Brave search censors, DDG, Bing...

Once a company gets big enough, HR always begins taking over hiring and the entire field of HR is full of leftists, because it's a job that takes no skill whatsoever. I would argue that it's the #1 reason companies start to go to shit as they get bigger.

HR cannot effectively hire because they do not know what the job actually requires. A leftist cannot effectively hire because they cannot put aside their personal agenda and must virtue signal at every opportunity.

This is why your phone crashes at all. There is no technical reason why your phone should crash ever and, barring incredibly rare instances of actual hardware failure, it is always the result of someone's mistake, probably a diversity hire or an overworked engineer who cannot get any help because he works only with diversity hires.

It attracts tin pot dictators. Think HOAs its the same type of people. People that just want a little bit of power. I hate people like that and that is why I'm self employed

1
saltyviewer123 1 point ago +1 / -0

It takes even less skill these days. Comms go though email and they hardly ever want to talk to you in person.

1
Trumpy_Bear 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is why your phone crashes at all.

This one made me laugh a lot. You're very likely right.

1
BringTheCat789 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not very likely; I am right. I've seen it firsthand.

Type in “natural cures for psoriasis” in Google and you will be referred to WebMD. Now type it in brave see what you get. Google funnels everything into BiG Pharma and Big Hospital or Big Food.

Apply for a job there, and when they don't hire you, sue them for racial discrimination.

3
BTWiuseArch25 3 points ago +3 / -0

yea but how much do you trust the courts?

2
Marshall2 2 points ago +2 / -0

Excellent point. They now seek to rubber stamp biases rather than pursue justice.

9
n3IVI0 9 points ago +9 / -0

I've been using Brave's beta search engine. Which, the more we use, the more accurate it gets.

2
Foletado 2 points ago +2 / -0

Brave censors. Private.Sh lets you get uncensored results.

7
Kamalas_a_Bitch 7 points ago +7 / -0

Dang, I liked DDG

7
cpt_majestic2 7 points ago +7 / -0

After I saw the donors for Duck, I bailed, it was leading to trouble like this

7
BlueEyedDevil 7 points ago +7 / -0

If true...DuckDuckGone.

2
RedditIsCommunist 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well even if this incident isn’t true they have a leftism pattern https://patriots.win/p/13zN6C9VRr/a-brief-dive-on-duckduckgo-yes-i/

6
Grief 6 points ago +6 / -0

You'd have to be an idiot to be using DDG, their search engine is a huge pile of flaming shit. Last time I tried to use it the return results were all over the place and it wouldn't even give the phone number for the store I was looking for.

5
Cyer6 5 points ago +5 / -0

I used it for a while but didn't like it either. I just went back to Bing for the rewards points and if I'm worried about privacy, I'll just kick on the vpn.

2
Winner45 2 points ago +2 / -0

With ddg, I can watch YouTube videos without the ads, and it can accurately tell me the hours of stores I search.

I’d love to use something else, but there isn’t a consensus on what the best option is.

6
The_Duke45 6 points ago +6 / -0

Just switched to Brave with all my saved websites in tow. DDG is dead to me!

6
Morokei 6 points ago +7 / -1

So no one questions the source for these conclusions? No one asks DDG to comment? Just blindly accept this as truth?

It may be true but one person reposting this doesn’t make it so.

2
RedditIsCommunist 2 points ago +2 / -0

I’m willing to actually disregard this specific incident as possibly false, but even if I do that there’s a larger problematic pattern with the company https://patriots.win/p/13zN6C9VRr/a-brief-dive-on-duckduckgo-yes-i/

5
CrocodileBeers 5 points ago +5 / -0

I had heard about DDG possibly handing over info before so I rarely used it. It kind of bothered me that everyone would talk about it all the time just because it wasn’t google. Never thought the results were as accurate as I wanted either. I usually used StartPage because it combined results from google with either ixquick or yandex with added anonymity. Then I heard they got bought by some ad agency so I couldn’t really trust them either. That’s when I heard that brave was working on a search engine so now I’m just waiting to see it supported as a default search engine or extension by more browsers just as I patiently waited for StartPage to be adopted by more browsers.

5
Papabravo12 5 points ago +5 / -0

Jesus Christ, I literally have DuckDuckGo on my phone specifically to use .win because I don’t want to be tracked by the FBI (I know they have lurkers here anyway but I don’t want to make it any easier on them than I have to). But now it turns out this is a libtard company too, awesome

9
NuclearPoweredChevy 9 points ago +9 / -0

I have bad news for you. If you been using a phone then they have all your data. They have a history of your contact lists from six years ago as well as the sites you like to visit and any username you typed on the phone. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

1
Papabravo12 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, I know

5
JoeBidensDementia1 5 points ago +6 / -1

I love how triggered we all get over one tiny instance of wokeness. Never mind the fact that this instance doesn't represent even 1% of those employed or interviewed for DDG.

If we keep this up, we won't be using the internet for much longer.

Grow a pair, pedes.

Go ahead and downvote me, too.

3
FooLyCooLie 3 points ago +3 / -0

I agree with you. Not to mention the entire basis behind this post is a fallacy.

5

I'm confused how does the hiring practices of one HR lunatic 100% proof they're handing over your private data to antifa?

1
RedditIsCommunist 1 point ago +1 / -0

There is some stuff not suggesting anything as specific as leaking data to Antifa, but Antifa sympathy. https://patriots.win/p/13zN6C9VRr/a-brief-dive-on-duckduckgo-yes-i/

5
SuperFreedomMan 5 points ago +5 / -0

I just made Mojeek my new default search engine. Fuck racist DDG.

5
InsideMan 5 points ago +5 / -0

According to DuckDuckGo's own statement, they "provide equal work opportunities to all team members and applicants and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws. " I'd say somebody in HR needs to be fired, but at this point I think we all know everybody in every HR department needs to be fired.

5
MrVegan 5 points ago +5 / -0

How do we know this is legit?

1
CrocodileBeers 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well you can’t really tell from here, but the screenshots of the communications seem legit, and the LinkedIn profile of the person corresponding with him checks out.

4
daveywavey86 4 points ago +4 / -0

i wish there was a way to record vindication, because i absolutely told you all this for over a year, and no one listened. inwas told DDG was the greatest and that they were all about your privacy.

i live in CA, and am from MA, ive seen countless DDG ads in the wild in both states the past 3 mos. this means theyve been pushing a heavy advertising campaign. they need major funding for that.

DDG is a free service though.... how could they possibly get that much money for a "free" service's advertising? because your data (and you) are the product.

what did we learn?

*dont go all in on one search engine

*use different browsers for different purposes

*do a minor bit of research on companies you trust your data with

1
XCorneliusX 1 point ago +1 / -0

There is a DDG billboard off 92 (hillsborough rd) in Tampa going west past 56th, I think.

4
ErnstJunger 4 points ago +4 / -0

I have been saying this. DDG is owned by a liberal jew and has already censored people.

Use Brave search.

1

No. Brave is censored use Gigablast.com / Private.sh .

One of the comments there is spot on:

Make a blog/YouTube/whatever and do this regularly to expose these clowns. You’ll make more than you ever would at your old job, expose the trannies, and maybe even help crash this plane. Good luck anon

LET'S DO THIS!

4
Rubicante 4 points ago +4 / -0
  1. Take courses such as African-American Culture Studies, Anthropology, Gender Studies, Psychology, Sociology, and Womens' Studies.

  2. Get a Liberal Arts degree.

  3. Only job options are drum circle coordinator or HR manager.

  4. Infiltrate businesses and immediately start corrupting from within.

  5. Control hiring by only accepting candidates that fit my personal brand of psychosis.

  6. Destroy America.

Considering Mitch McConnell was the "employment screener" for Trump, I think you can see where I'm going with this.

3
Kerra_Holt 3 points ago +3 / -0

People don't realize how power works.

If you're an HR person, teacher, or in any position to control personnel and ideas, you're literally a virus.
