I fucking hate California so much. Lawnmowers and chainsaws barely emit shit.

310
magastrophysicist 310 points ago +311 / -1

You know what does emit shit?

Jerry Nadler's pants. #NeverForget

75
spezpedobestfriend 75 points ago +75 / -0

Jerry Nadler is morbidly obese, he can't bend down, every day I see him he looks like his life is excruciating pain. It looks like that fucker telling Bill Clinton to release Susan Rosenberg from prison (she had 700lb+ dynamite, machine guns and bombed the senate building) who now works as a pay bitch for BLM via direct blue, is getting a lot of prayers for him to live a long agonizing death in pain every minute. I know my voice is one of many for that for that traitorous cunt.

60
FliesTheFlag 60 points ago +60 / -0

You think Nadler is Obese now, go look at his older pictures, absolute fucking slob

45
Stallionstyle 45 points ago +46 / -1

Nadler is the Penguin, only real, more evil, and with more dastardly schemes than the DC universe can fathom.

16
War_Hamster 16 points ago +18 / -2

My impression is that Nadler is far too stupid to be anything other than the face of a dirty faction of NY politics. His performance in the 1st fake impeachment, and bumbling denial of Antifa, among other episodes leads me to this conclusion.

The Penguin was not a puppet like Nadler, but the physical comparison is almost comical.

Can you imagine meeting a disgusting blob like this without the wits to even fool a Libtard and think he'd make a decent leader?

15
rooftoptendie 15 points ago +15 / -0

Penguin has WAYYYY better shoes. Ever seen Nadler's shoes? He's a fucking disgrace. He wears these horrible beat up black easy spirit walkers or some shit, and he clearly has like club feet or something, the toebox of his beat up old shoes is always sticking up clown-shoe style like there's nothing in the toebox and he has some kind of elephant condition, uggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh theyre JUST. AWFUL. What a foul idiotic creature.

Penguin's shoes are handmade italian masterpieces.

I was just saying that today about my state. WA is so wonderful with the mountains, waterways, evergreens, but the people passing laws are demons that eat babies.

29
ThurstonHowell3rd 29 points ago +29 / -0

I think the politicians running WA must have loved to play The Sims when they were kids. They love to control their subjects and look to fix problems that don't even exist.

I have never seen such a meddling group of people in all my life. None of them want to maintain things like the roads and bridges, and get criminals off the streets. They want to build multi-billion dollar rail projects, replace the ferries with electric vessels, and grow the size of government at all costs.

It's beautiful country, but it's full of controlling psychopaths.

Yes! That's the one I was thinking of. I never played any of those simulation games when I was younger (not enough shooting for me), so I couldn't tell you which deals with people, animals, cities, etc., but thanks for the correction.

1
yeldarb1983 1 point ago +1 / -0

it's okay, I had the SNES version as a kid, plus i played the pc/mac version more than once, as well as simcity 2000 and in the snesmanual, they literally advise you that you'll probably want to get rid of roads eventually and replace them with mass transit.

It is an endlessly beautiful state. I lived in the shithole of Oakland, CA for 4 year. Literally had to drive up into the mountains every week to not lose my mind from the people there. Some of the most superficial 'friendships' I've ever had in my life.

I really love my current state for so many reasons, but I often find myself wishing I could dimension jump into an alternate reality where I was existing with my current standard of living in California without the painful surplus of self righteous shitlib cucks.

But seriously...some of the most unreal scenery I've ever encountered, and I've been all over the US/Canada. Some of the deepest connections I've felt with God were while I was hiking however many miles out to some hot spring amongst the redwoods in the mountains.

8
KekistanPM 8 points ago +9 / -1

51
militarysnoopy 51 points ago +51 / -0

You know what generates just as much? Generators.

And they're calling for more rolling blackouts. How much do you want to bet that they'll use this bill to fine or seize people using generators during those blackouts?

Not happening. The definition of the engines being banned from sale, not ownership, is 25hp, or 19kw. If your gen is over that, this bill doesn't apply.

The bill is dumb as fuck, but you're chicken littleing a bit hard here.

2
TruthyBrat 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bringing one in from out of state manufactured after the date will be illegal.

And people spending serious money on a generator won't be affected. You know, your betters.

How is California supposed to clear dead logs and other fuel in the Sierra without gas-powdered chainsaws? These trail crews hike days into the backcountry and set up camp to do maintenance. No extension cords that long.

1
LirukDatan 1 point ago +1 / -0

Would the police come to the Hollywood or politicians' mansions, to confiscate their generators though?

25
BidenTaintMyPrez 25 points ago +25 / -0

Good point. I have a libtard former co-worker who lives up in north CA and he loves him some Newsome. Anyway he was bragging about the generator he bought during the blackouts. It's going to be amazing when it's outlawed. Oh, and he won't be able to charge his Tesla either, lol.

11
War_Hamster 11 points ago +11 / -0

Yeah, I got side-swiped by a Tesla driving soccer mom in CA today. And my libtard Sis drives a Tesla. Looking forward to months of blackouts so I can laugh at these people.

Yeah, screws over retailers, but not homeowners and landscapers. Probaly exempts the sale of used equipment too.

9
80960KA 9 points ago +9 / -0

Not that they can control the repair or transfer of used equipment in the first place, nor personal-level (or really even enterprise level) smuggling of fucking lawn mowers and weedeaters from out of state.

13
deplorable-d00d 13 points ago +14 / -1

Juan will still use the gas powered leaf blower to clean your yard.

They've been outlawed in Los Angeles for along time, but sure enough at 6am Mexicans are at every other apartment complex with a 50 sq foot lawn, blowing shit down the sidewalk and out into the street. Never fails.

5
80960KA 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yeah they're way too useful to go away. Electric works for light duty consumer but gas runs all day no problem and very low downtime for "recharging", is low cost, and pretty efficient.

7
MLGS 7 points ago +7 / -0

We're going to see interstate checkpoints for things like people smuggling gas engine components and checking vaccine papers in blue areas within 5 years. The people there will overwhelmingly support it.

4

4
80960KA 4 points ago +4 / -0

10
SirSeizureSalad 10 points ago +10 / -0

The new law will ban the sale of all off-road, gas-powered engines, including generators, lawn equipment, pressure washers, chainsaws, weed trimmers, and even golf carts. Under the new law , these machines must be zero-emissions, meaning they will have to be either battery-powered or plug-in, according to the Los Angeles Times .

Let me get some of them battery powered generators, or better yet a plug in generator, please.

9
Redpillgirlfrommars 9 points ago +10 / -1

I have used a battery powered lawnmower (fucking ryobi) and it is the most godawful piece of shit machinery ever. If you want to experience blind, red hot rage, use a fucking battery powered lawnmower.

4

Well I’m fairness it’s is Ryobi. Nothing Ryobi makes works. That’s why on construction sites it’s known as “The Green Mistake”.

2

1
BaldyGull 1 point ago +1 / -0

I like mine. I ended up getting a riding mower because I just didn't have enough time, but I loved the 40v battery mower. I still use it where I can't get the big mower. Also have the weed wacker, leaf blower, and a chainsaw which I use for those one off cuts.

5

12
TKAdams 12 points ago +12 / -0

The new fancy meters they're installing are designed for just that.

Carry_Your_Name 22 points ago +22 / -0

Lawnmowers and chainsaws barely emit shit.

Please, stop reasoning with them, and start to assume the most malicious intent.

9
InarosPrime 9 points ago +9 / -0

The first thing I found on a quick internet search was lawnmowers account for 5% of air pollution, according to EPA estimates. So this bill essentially does nothing for 95% of the "problem" they want to address. There is definitely no logic in their reasoning.

11
MLGS 11 points ago +11 / -0

Anybody who talks about pollution from gas engines and doesn't lead off with long haul trucks and container ships as the biggest problems is somebody who has nothing but malicious intent.

17
Sarthax 17 points ago +17 / -0

Seriously. Want to stop pollution. Stop making shit in China and shipping it halfway across the world then putting it on a truck to move it around the country. You can get rid of all the lawnmowers and cars and it won't even equal out to a fraction of the pollution from a few of those huge cargo ships.

https://medium.com/age-of-awareness/big-cargo-ships-big-pollution-834a525d7b7f

A single cargo ship may cause the same health issues as 50 million cars due to the use of low-quality bunker fuel. A somewhat efficient engine may consume as much as 1,660 gallons (7,547 litres) of bunker fuel per hour.

9
PoliticallyIncorrect 9 points ago +9 / -0

This is the exact point I’ve been making to the tree-huggers that I come across. What I learned is: they don’t actually care that much about the “climate crises”. Not enough to give up the $0.49 toe rings & $0.99 dash ornaments from wish.com, at least.

They care about looking “green” to other tree huggers, it’s all about the virtue signal. I can’t even get them entertain the above idea for more than 10 seconds. So it looks like the dash ornaments will chug across oceans, but god forbid if you want to fire up the ol’ Echo & do some tree trimming….

You are talking about people who banned beach bonfires to combat global warming - you are giving them way too much credit.

3
Carry_Your_Name 3 points ago +3 / -0

That's because all of their reasons are excuses. It's like a cover business for drug dealers, smugglers, human traffickers or money launderers.

3
BaldyGull 3 points ago +3 / -0

Last I looked, I think passenger vehicles were only like 10%. Shipping and electric plants make up the bulk of the rest. Really depends on the pollutant though.

https://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/features/emissions-test-car-vs-truck-vs-leaf-blower.html

2
DJTrump 2 points ago +2 / -0

Of course there's no logic when the problem isn't even real to begin with. The solutions to said fake problem aren't just absurd, but like mentioned above, 100% malicious in intent and result.

1
spezisapedo2 1 point ago +1 / -0

that is actually quite a bit though. I mean, still shouldnt be banned, but 5% is not nearly as low as I would expect based on how much other pollution there is.

2
InarosPrime 2 points ago +2 / -0

Prioritizing is a foreign concept for some, especially in government. Imagine trying to repair a few bullet holes on a naval ship when water is pouring in from a cannon ball hole. Address the bigger issues first, then deal with the small issues.

Cut trees, and plant new ones, turn wood into boards, turn boards into houses, all that carbon sits in use for hundreds of years while providing an important function.

Or

Save trees from being logged, forest fires burn everything, all that carbon gets released into the atmosphere causing more environmental damage, and no one gets any benefit from it.

Wendell 15 points ago +15 / -0

There are gas, propane and diesel generators which would all count as gas. What other kind of generator is there? Electric? (S). Given the rolling blackouts in California, a generator would be handy. In my part of the country we need them for hurricanes.

14
zooty 14 points ago +14 / -0

Some battery pack sellers have been pushing them as "Generators", particularly if paired with solar panels. Bunch of hogwash in my book.

6
mintyfresh 6 points ago +6 / -0

Ya, the majority of them are only good for recharging other devices, not for powering anything serious.

2
zooty 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yep. When power went out here, got a lot of mileage out of the cars and an inverter (300W). Only ran the generator occasionally.

1
RegularAmerican 1 point ago +1 / -0

You won't use your power tools very long. But having one or two of those can save your life. Especially if you're like me and depend on electronics and the refrigerator for medical reasons.

2
NavyGuy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Diabetic?

1
RegularAmerican 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm not. But wife got gestational diabetes from pregnancy. Luckily we haven't needed to use the insulin since but we have it just in case. Also if you can keep some insulin cold after the power goes out you will be a superhero.

1
NavyGuy 1 point ago +1 / -0

A small tailgater 2 stroke generator from harbor freight is $99 and will keep a refrigerator cold and the lights on for a gallon or less. 1.5 to 2 gallons if you run it all day instead of an or or so periodically.

3
80960KA 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's a UPS. A useful thing for sure, but much better in conjunction with a genset than alone on batteries and solar. Most of the time solar tops off the batteries and that's great, till it gets cold and dark for a week and you can't just turn some go juice into electric juice.

I wanna get a little ~10kW diesel generator. Many are designed to run on lot of stuff with minimum processing (put that spent engine and cooking oil to use), and can feed it bulk fuel like heating oil or kerosene too.

2
zooty 2 points ago +2 / -0

Diesel would be good. I have a 5kw gas but that's currently down as I left it outside and water got in the tank and it rusted. Gotta get that fixed up. I'm considering one of those quiet ones. They're not quiet enough that they wouldn't be noticed but it could definitely cut down the range of attraction.

Voltage is another consideration. Below a certain size most seem to be 120V only but my AC (which is natural gas) runs on 240V. Assuming the gas doesn't go out (and if it doesn't, it's potential fuel for a generator too). Lots of things to consider.

4
weebrian 4 points ago +4 / -0

You’d be surprised how well a $300 120v window AC can cool a large room. No, it won’t cool your entire house, but if you’re without power for a bit, you can easily shift your main activities to that one room.

1
zooty 1 point ago +1 / -0

I do have a couple around and would use them for that. Heating for winter doesn't use much electricity though so it would just make sense to have that option available.

2
80960KA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Noise isn't a consideration beyond nuisance for me, I mean I live in a house you can see it right there and a genset chugging away at least in my area would strongly imply there's also someone with a rifle or several around. Go to the quiet neighbor house, crooks. Seems a bit silly for home, makes more sense with like an RV (you might be boondocking somewhere illegally!)

Depending on the demand required by your HVAC you could get away with a 120V genset thru a transformer, but they are big expensive and heavy. Only reason I'd do this is if it was just like 240V control electronics for some reason and just needed like 50W tops to run some relays and computer shit. If it's a 240V motor of some substantial fraction of a HP you're better off with just a jobsite class genset with 120/240. When I get around to getting one it'll def be a 120/240, then I can run my welder off it at full capacity too.

1
zooty 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just the control electronics and a blower fan. I'll have to measure the consumption sometime this winter. A transformer for even that kind of power would definitely be bulky and heavy. I started looking into whether I could upgrade the panel on the generator but that turned out to be less straightforward than I was expecting it to be. Possibly still an option though, I assume they're selling the same generators in 240V countries probably with slightly different model numbers.

1
80960KA 1 point ago +1 / -0

If it's a conventional generator (not an inverter), you may be able to change the winding configuration on the generator unit itself to get 240. Really depends on the specific generator component and how they made it/what winding taps they expose.

12
10MeV 12 points ago +13 / -1

Look up “solar generators”, like Jackery’s products. You won’t believe what they actually call a “generator”.

It’s just a backup UPS, essentially!

1
RegularAmerican 1 point ago +1 / -0

Definetly not as good. But a nice fuel generator is really expensive. On top of that If I had to depend on the gasoline I'd be screwed as well

2
NavyGuy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thats why you gotta stock up and be prepared BEFORE you need it.

1
RegularAmerican 1 point ago +1 / -0

True. I also suspect alot of old cars and trucks would sit around with residual amounts of fuel in their tanks. But I'd also like an option where I really don't have to worry about acquiring the gas.

4
SaltiTaralli 4 points ago +4 / -0

There are solar generators but the powerful ones aren't cheap. Most won't run a whole household. With the smaller ones you would have to have a plan and pick and choose what's most important to power. HoboTech on YouTube does great reviews of various companies offerings from small to large. I bought one recently for emergencies. The upside to solar generators is they are near silent so your neighbors won't hear it running in a shtf scenario. Also, the battery part can be kept and used inside safely cause there's no fumes. Most of the solar panels are very portable so you can charge the battery then bring it all inside at night. I have a fenced backyard so if there's an extended power outage I'll be charging quietly and bringing everything back inside where's it's safer from theft. I don't have a huge unit so if I need heat I'll probably be using a Little Buddy heater and cooking with propane, butane or a coulple other methods. A Solar Generator made sense for me because of the size, portability (I'm female), I live in a condo, so I don't have to store gas and I won't be a target for theft.

Certainly if a gas powered generator made more sense for my situation I'd have gone that route. Newsome is an stupid asshole.

1
spezisapedo2 1 point ago +1 / -0

what do you do if you need power at night?

1
SaltiTaralli 1 point ago +1 / -0

The solar panels charge the battery then the battery is available for power anytime, day or night. Right now, my battery is charged and sitting in a closet, ready for use if needed. Solar isn't a perfect solution because if the weather is cloudy you may not be able to fully charge fast depending upon your set-up. That's why multiple systems are important: propane or wood for cooking, propane for a safe heating source inside, extra batteries for lanterns etc., etc. A gas generator isn't a perfect solution either though because what might happen in an extended emergency when gas becomes unavailable or rationed?

1
spezisapedo2 1 point ago +1 / -0

I know how solar panels work.. and I know that current battery technology sucks. I definitely agree with your point about redundancy. As someone who has considered sailing across the pond a few times, I have looked into all sorts of energy tech, and solar is definitely one I would want - but in addition to diesel.

Gas generators have their downsides, but during a blizzard, or patch of long rain, they can be a lifesaver.

3
xzars_folly 3 points ago +3 / -0

Solar panels..

But here is the catch. With a HUGE chip shortage, that also means a huge shortage in PV cells that make solar power work. There is already a huge shortage of solar panels too.

It basically means they are going to take away people's only option for dealing with the constant brownouts CA has.

It means people are going to have their food supplies spoil in their no-power fridges right as the food supply dries up thanks to the global shipping collapse.

1
spezisapedo2 1 point ago +1 / -0

also, they only work if the sun is out.

1
xzars_folly 1 point ago +1 / -0

they work when its cloudy, just not as well. But for SoCal, this isn't a big issue really.

The bigger issue is that solar panels are made of the same silicon that microchips start their manufacturing process as. So a chip shortage means a panel shortage as well.

So CA residents are not going to be able to get their hands on solar panels, leaving them then fully at the mercy of the State's rapidly failing grid.

1
spezisapedo2 1 point ago +1 / -0

As in they "work" at 30% efficiency. Hardly enough to power my house throughout the night if its a warm night and I need A/C and refrigeration or to bake something.

2
kung-flu-fighting 2 points ago +2 / -0

2

7

Well usually with something like this they would make the sale of them illegal, rather than the use. But this is Commiefornia in 2021, so there’s probably a provision in the law for putting a violator in the stockades for public humiliation. Man, leaving that dystopian hell hole was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life and I had no idea at the time how fortuitous it would be.

California is beautiful. I think the goal is to depopulate it. Get everyone they can to move out, those who won't crammed into cities, then cut off the water and electricity to those cities.

All that will be left will be the elites and the serfs/slaves that grow their food, tend their wineries, and serve them at restaurants. Every single program is in service to returning to Versaille and royal nobility.

Don't tell them that, they'll just get ideas. Like when people were saying "not even FDA approved" so they approved it.

You need to target what hurts them specifically. "Why is the state government allowed to operate indoors with the lights on, they should move to the open air and only work during the day to eliminate a massive amount of their footprint." Because I wanna see a pathetic attempt of them doing so.

Put all state troopers back on horses.

INCLUDING GENERATORS!

So once you don’t have a generator to keep your power going, once they shut the electricity off, then they have control over everything. They want you to have electric cars, but you can’t charge of the powers out, they don’t want you to have a generator so you can’t sustain yourself, and now they don’t want you to have any possible means to keep your yard and your homes in a tidy manner. The place already looks like a hell hole, but can you imagine trying to do your yard on battery powered tools only.? I’m all for cordless tools, but this is ridiculous. Not to mention trying to do your yard with tools that are corded. What a pain in the butt, also I think the sales of extension cords are going to go up… So maybe we should all invest. It won’t matter though, in the next five years I’ll tell you what day that you can actually mow your lawn on. One block it’ll be Tuesday the next block it’ll be Wednesday, so on and so forth just like they do with trying to water your yards. Everything is regulated! It’s time to move out of California people! They want this place to look like Venezuela. Can you imagine making a law, to make it harder for you to actually care for your own property. Oh that’s right five years from now we want to have our own property and will be happy

On the Sunny Slopes of Long Ago, I recall mowing a suburban lawn with a hand mower. The reel kind.
Can't wait to see the cardiac arrests...

New scum certainly didn't waste any time after cheating thoroughly on the recall election.

I really dont care any more about California. Like I love the pedes there, but like, are we really saving that cesspoll? I'll answer for you, NO.

"This is a pretty modest approach to trying to limit the massive amounts of pollution that this equipment emits, not to mention the health impact on the workers who are using it constantly," Marc Berman, the bill's author, told the outlet. "It’s amazing how people react when they learn how much this equipment pollutes, and how much smog forming and climate changing emissions that small off-road engine equipment creates."

Wut? Banning gas powered engines is "modest." I can guarantee this idiot lives in a city had has never done any manual labor like yard work. Battery chain saws, leaf blowers, etc. have their place for small yards or small spot clean up in larger yards but are no substitute for a gas unit.

Plenty more illegals on the way. They can pick the leaves up by hand now I guess.

And just like the corporations used Biden’s press release to do their own mandates, corporations will use this law in California to push electric and none-gas engines in all other states. California likes passing regulations to be a model for other tyrants.

This is a test run.

The first thing is to ban gas powered law equiptment.

Then they are going to be targeting the state's trucking industry. They want the in-state trucking companies to go full green by 2050. Out of state trucks get exemptions, however out of state companies will be charged more to operate within CA.

the train that goes nowhere...will lead the state to its end.

They already ban semi trucks that are 2010 or older and ones that have stacks larger than 12 inches. Plus no idling unless you have "green" idling equipment installed. Though they don't really enforce the idle restriction usually.
