I know right? Let Walmart, Target and Bed Bath & beyond go broke with their garbage China shit

Apparently they are stuck because shipping yards are full due to a lack of truck drivers to pick them up.

good luck producing an American made product with American made materials and turning a profit. People want their Amazon trash. Fast and cheap.

I'm socially liberal and fiscally conservative at heart. As an outdoorsman I appreciate what the intent of the Clean Water Act brought to our country. However, as much as it pains me, there needs to be an area of our country focused on industry. Until the technology is available there is going to be a give and take with certain environmental issues. China is us in our early industrial revolution era X 10 or maybe even a hundred. Biden said it best in his younger years. Is he corrupt? Well, that's up for debate. However it has become so expensive to run for almost any political seat in office that you go to the folks who have money and obviously they want something in return. Probably the only honest thing to leave his mouth. Like Jordan Belfort said in the wolf of wall street so many imperceptible steps happen and occur that by the time you look at the initial line you're wondering holy schnikes how did we get here??? It's just another scratch at the surface, this all had been going on for well over a hundred years. Hopefully we can still fix it. The election fix does frighten me though, they were so hell bent on winning to not lose whatever it's that the few collectively know, what is it? It seems that they are making up for lost time in the 4 years of President Trump at an aggressive stance, instead of the gentle imperceptible steps.

Yep, OP has no clue what he is talking about. The materials are key.

I had a manufacturing business (even under Obama) and I went out of my way to make sure everything down to the glue and wood were made in the USA. I could never find brads for a pneumatic pistol that were made in the USA so I had to list as Made in the USA of foreign materials

MSG1000 2 points ago +2 / -0

Those are only artificially cheap, remove that crap and it won’t be close to cheap.

becky21k1 17 points ago +17 / -0

You literally cannot produce some things in the US right now because of environmental case laws, certain things that need to be painted for instance.

You also can't send out the parts to China for painting and back because of other stupid US laws that cause too much loss of product.

there are at least 3 sheriffs who kicked OSHA out of their county. go there and prosper.

2
becky21k1 2 points ago +2 / -0

OSHA has nothing to do with the environmental BS though. Or the testing crap they do on stuff.

It's hard to believe but there was a time when America made everything we needed, and most of what the world wanted. Electronics, automobiles, fashion, tools, etc. American manufacturing was the best in the world before globohomo(tm) took root.

Instead of supply-chain shortages emptying shelves, unfulfilled demand would be putting Americans to work. Instead of boats stacking up at American ports waiting to be emptied of their cheap plastic chinese crap, our highways would be full of AMERICANS taking quality AMERICAN products and goods across the country.

how far we've fallen.

Ivleeeg 8 points ago +8 / -0

But a lot of things that are made in America rely in resources being shipped in on those cargo ships...

7
SouthernBelle64 7 points ago +9 / -2

Tell me about it.

In my small town every store within a reasonable driving distance is already running out of essentials. I'm going to have to start going makeup-free at almost 60 because of this vax crap.

UMAthemovement [S] 12 points ago +12 / -0

You'll be beautiful.

SouthernBelle64 6 points ago +7 / -1

Thanks but 30+ years of doing the same thing isn't easily given up. I feel like a bum without makeup!

Make your own! Start with Rosemary Gladstar's Perfect Cream.

I'll take a look.

Do you make your own makeup?

2
RegularAmerican 2 points ago +2 / -0

Idk how you do that unless you're a geisha or something lol

3
TiaTisa 3 points ago +3 / -0

Give it up. I think you will find it refreshing. Give it up. I have for the last 7 months. I caved for my new driver's license and put on makeup. Mistake... I still looked like shit. I have liberated myself. You do you. I no longer buy make-up nor wear it. It's ok. You are surely beautiful

How do I get over the feeling that I look pale and old and not myself?

3
snag_007 3 points ago +3 / -0

Because you're buying into what THEY think you should look like . When/where I grew up the only women that wore that much war paint were the kind of girl you didn't take home to meet the parents ... Oh , and get some sun ! Does wonders for that pale look and it really doesn't take that much .

I found Walmart is selling Great Value canned yellow corn from Thailand. Thailand?!?! Really?

2
Jack_NC 2 points ago +2 / -0

I guess they were all out of corn grown in China, in a field behind the lead-acid battery factory.

3
LordKuroTheGreat 3 points ago +3 / -0

But then we couldn't pay .25 cents an hour for shit that breaks in a few uses for crazy profit margins so that some rich corporate douchnozzles can buy a third yacht.

2
Jimboslice73 2 points ago +2 / -0

But, but, but muh American jobs are created when my yacht is being built.

Never thought of it quite that way. I have been buying from local farmers and locally owned merchants out of a sense of necessity. It's just smarter. But I never thought of the fact that the stores are drying up and prices are rising because of stalled international shipping (and the oncoming deep Chinese recession, which fake news won't talk about).

I haven’t worn makeup in years unless it’s a special occasion. I had to buy makeup for my daughter’s wedding last spring because the last time I wore makeup was a concert in March 2020. Honestly I put it on for the picture. If I was tan and the chin wasn’t sagging I would maybe just do my eyes and bronzer. I wore makeup every day in high school. One day I finally told myself I didn’t need the junk. I’m in my mid 50s. God didn’t make us with painted faces. If you truly can’t live with out makeup I can give you some links to order brands online. There’s plenty of beauty products available in the natural makeup industry. If you live near TJ Maxx or Marshals look at those stores. Just double check expiration dates & don’t get open packages. Kids like to test. They take back anything if you don’t like it. I went last week in my rural town and TJ was stocked!

Detox Market Safe and Chic Derm Store All these should have good supplies. I only use plant based because I have terrible skin allergies & the toxins aren’t good for the health. I saw someone said make your own. It looks pretty simple. I’m not able to make homemade products right now. I order from people that make plant based products. I’m getting ready to order makeup from someone. I didn’t give the link because I can’t find it. I follow her on Instagram. Good luck 🍀

Spoken like someone who isn’t aware of how much out politicians have sold us out. They’ve made so many of the products we use dependent on a global supply chain.

2
hillaryprison 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's so fun how the evil left religion calls everything not on cargo ships as 'white nationalism'. They think it's normal to hate your country and want to destroy it. You must be a Hitlery racist if you actually don't mind where you live.

2
Bubblegumbro 2 points ago +2 / -0

That’s why I love people telling me about shortages of American made products. I have to remind about this all the time that XY&!Z are made in America they are not on cargo ships.

Spoken like a true idiot that does not understand component assembly.

1
brotatofarmer 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fun fact.

This isn't true.

There are a lot of American made parts thay get shipped overseas and assembled, because that madness is cheaper than doing it domestically.

I am aware of several tech companies that assemble small parts, get them sent overseas, and then have them assembled cheaper.

That’s not always true. Many natural plant based products might have ingredients that come from other countries. Of course that’s not important to people that don’t buy natural products. If you want certain essential oils or spices they come from many different regions of the world. The same goes for herbal tea. The companies might be based in America but they have to get the natural products from the regions they have grown for thousands of years. As natural medicine and natural beauty products are getting more popular people are being to grow their plants here. Those people are very small in numbers. I’m sure there’s other examples of this situation. I only know this area because I buy and use them. I’m not sure but some minerals used in manufacturing or machinery comes from other countries. (Again I’m not sure if it’s machinery. I saw a post on here a couple weeks ago about 18 wheelers.)
