Gonna try to buy and only ask for American products this year. Or make gifts myself. Fuck China and fuck companies that do business there.

24
suckmycorona 24 points ago +24 / -0

I make every effort to not source China products. Issue is online "amazon" vendors aren't required to display where product is made. So when I get something I always leave a review simply stating country of origin.

All this buying is for them. We don't even need most of the shit we buy. We don't need them for us to exist. They need us

5
julianleroux 5 points ago +5 / -0

This Queen gets it. I'd say at least 80% of the average American's spending is on luxuries, convenience and status-signalling.

Muh pink vagina hat is two days late.

5
Dictator_Bob 5 points ago +5 / -0

You might as well shop the product direct from aliexpress. If you got to have a Chinese toaster or whatever that you cannot source here in the states then do at least this. I've imported goods and it takes a month, you can handle the wait and just cut Amazon/Walmart/etc. out.

But if you can source local. I'm going to be working on some US directories soon to share just for this. There are a lot of American manufacturers still but we are terribly organized -- mostly because our own companies have betrayed us, and offshored work for profits.

It is time to secede from Walmart guys.

cyberrigger 3 points ago +3 / -0

Buying from Amazon is as bad as buying anything from China.

It's the same picture.

2
Honey123 2 points ago +2 / -0

Worse even than walmart

1
Whitespace 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fortunately in many places is much easier because you need a Branch-Covidian membership card.

6
Penuruloki 6 points ago +6 / -0

There are addons that help a little, by adding where the company is based and where the item ships from. Not perfect, but can be useful when deciding between 2 items.

1
victory2024 1 point ago +1 / -0

"cultivate" is one of them

5
Annpi 5 points ago +5 / -0

I haven't shopped Amazon in about 10 years... If I can do it, so can you!!

In some ways Biden is inadvertently doing this

9
YouKnowWhatItIs87 9 points ago +9 / -0

Great strategy. Personally, Im going to try to not buy a damn thing this year, I hate shopping, the stress etc. I bought my parents a home this year and told them Im not buying any gifts from here on out and please do not buy me anything. I just want my family to get together for a good meal and celebrate Christmas for the special day that it is, toss a football in the backyard, talk, candlelight vigils etc. Not consumerism, but if sharing gifts buying American when possible is the best way to go.

4
gunzoomborger 4 points ago +4 / -0

I wish we could just do no gifts too, or at least only homemade gifts. But every year my mother insists I give her gift ideas.

4
11GenAm 4 points ago +4 / -0

Ask for a little coupon book of one homemade dinner (or cake or pie, etc) per month for a year. Then she thinks about you every month and you get something all year.

It's looking like a cast iron Christmas!

I recently started giving USA made cast iron pans, pots, and Dutch ovens as gifts - especially weddings and holidays. I like the idea of of giving an item that will last MULTIPLE lifetimes and is extremely useful.

If I was more well-off, I would give guns and ammo.

3
coyote_777 3 points ago +3 / -0

cast iron can be your friend, wether making delicious fried chicken or smacking your local communist upside the head.

4

Well good news, Democrats are trying to make that easier for you, by keeping China shit off the shelves. =)

24
tom914 24 points ago +24 / -0

16
1DontTreadOnMe1 16 points ago +16 / -0

90% or more.

16
Cesare_Borgia 16 points ago +16 / -0

Many products are 'assembled' in the USA but made entirely of chinesium.

5
KekistanPM 5 points ago +5 / -0

We need more of the manufacturing process done in the USA, everything from harvesting raw materials to construction to distribution...

(Environmental regulators have entered the chat)

0
Darkheartisland 0 points ago +2 / -2

Any mine or foundry takes decades to be approved thanks to the EPA.

2
ohiopede 2 points ago +2 / -0

American made is as difficult to get as overseas right now, at least for me. I don't believe you can assume simply by availability. The entire thing is a clusterfuck of epic proportions.

2
tom914 2 points ago +2 / -0

I won't disagree that it's a clusterfuck but I know the car parts and wine making stuff we need we are having no problem getting in a timely manner. They are made in the US.

Wait but does this mean my George Floyd Funko Pop might not be here by christmas? THIS IS BULLSHIT!

Speaking of those things, it's funny to me the same loser manbabies who cry about climate change have these stupid plastic dolls linings their walls and desks.

I can't mow my grass with a small engine in California but I can buy a 10 ton crate of plastic chinese toys that serve no purpose other than "aesthetics"

3
ThurstonHowell3rd 3 points ago +3 / -0

LOL, they also don't realize where plastic comes from. Hint, it's not from the wind or sun.

They're fucking ugly. There are much better and higher quality figures out there, hell even amiibo are better looking and actually serve a purpose in certain games. Funko Pops are fucking trash.

Apparently the issue isn't the ships not getting unloaded, so much as new trucking rules in California that have effectively banned half the trucks which normally move containers in/out of the ports from being able to do so.

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2021/10/14/the-california-version-of-the-green-new-deal-and-an-october-16-2020-epa-settlement-with-transportation-is-whats-creating-the-container-shipping-backlog-working-ca-ports-24-7-will-not-help-here/

I did a good amount of Christmas shopping today. Purchased toys from an American Toy Manufacturer. I'll be fine and my kids will have something. All is well. Plandemic can carry on.

1
TrappedRed_in_blue 1 point ago +1 / -0

Please list which one you used, I also plan on getting kids' Christmas gifts done now. Originally was just planning on getting crafting kits, but if I can find a nice toy for my friend's kids and mine would be much appreciated.

Yeah, you could build a fake oval office at Gitmo and put him there, give him a speech to read from the teleprompter everyday, followed by some phony journalists asking questions that he'd never answer anyway, and he'd never know he wasn't still president.

3

One of the main factors causing this backlog of supply is that CA won't allow older trucks into the port because "climate change". So there simply aren't enough vehicles to move product.

All 2014-2021 Clean Truck Concession Agreements expired on September 30, 2021, regardless of when a Licensed Motor Carrier (LMC) applied.

California is literally strangling the nation to appease their insane co2 activists.

3
PlatinumFMorgan 3 points ago +3 / -0

The problem is that most of the companys that do have plants in the USA are choking and sabotaging operations in the USA, (almost like they are being directed to do it.)

And the cost of starting a manufacturing plant in the USA is out of reach for anyone who is not already wealthy to a lvl of being on par with "The Big Club" and we ain't in it.

One rough calculation I did of starting to manufacture stuff in the USA that is currently imported from China, would require the majority of my start up capital paid to lawyers and government regulators, to even allow me to operate.

2
julianleroux 2 points ago +2 / -0

Reduce, ReUse, Recycle, Repair until the corruption is flushed away and the economic system becomes sane again.

3

Christmas isn't about 'things'. Decent people know.

2
AmazinKrackin2 2 points ago +2 / -0

Basically he is saying if you don't obey we can cut out your supplies when we feel fit. One phone call to Xi and you don't get your presents. Peasants, obey or else your kids don't get toys. What a POS.

2
Inevitable-Grape 2 points ago +2 / -0

He sounds like Carter when he said people weren't gonna have what people in the 60s had. Amazing the parallels.

2
dontup 2 points ago +2 / -0

2
NotAnotherNPC 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's why you don't wait till last fucking minute and get your shit now if you haven't already. Additionally... stock up on dried foods to ensure this doesn't spill into your food supplies.

3
Frog_Anne 3 points ago +3 / -0

Remember that dried foods need water, so stock on that plus a good filter. Canned foods take a bit of room but won't require extra water, so they can round out the supplies.

1
NotAnotherNPC 1 point ago +1 / -0

Texted my wife and told her we need to get some things from Costco to avoid issues later... rice, flour, etc..... she called me a doomsday prepper and I didn't care.
Went to Jamba Juice after to get her a smoothie and they have a sign saying they are short of fucking lids and to not take one if you don't need it so they can save them for people that do need a lid. Don't have 25 years of food supply but at this point, if I had room and the money I would.

2
Mmmtacos 2 points ago +2 / -0

Christmas isn't about things on shelves or supply availability. This administration is so far removed from our beliefs.

1

Must also be assembled in the US.....

Believe it or not there are plenty of things out here that travel all over the planet just to get a single step done..... I shit you're not.... some t-shirt companies or towel companies will have to ship their t-shirts or towels across the entire globe just to get the tag sewn on, only to be shipped elsewhere in the world to get its final washing and sales tags put on..... And that's just one tiny example out of thousands....

Hell there are thousands of us-based companies, making "made in the US" products, that get shipped halfway around the globe to be assembled or have one little thing done to them before getting shipped back to the US all over again.......

I'm not an environmentalist. I'm a realist with common fucking sense and it is absolute pure retardation the way a lot of our supply chain works......
